So hang on, Apologyman's firebrand team bodies Champ?
No, Champ was beating him almost 3 to 1.

Nightmare doesn't even begin to describe it. The patch delay has been choking the life out of the game. I can't count how many stories I've heard of people basically giving up the game when they find out they could only play on PS3 and then there is the half of the playerbase the game lost the very moment the patch appeared only on the PS3.Just saw that the Skullgirls patch is out for XBox. Something about long national nightmares and ending.
Firebrand is a piece of shit without the unblockable. You need to rebuild him from the ground up if that's the case. He's basically half the character Zero is. Half.So? You are burning 3 bars to kill a character when normally you can do that off of 2 bars. Plus there is a universal damage nerf in the system change so that will affect LVL3s as well.
I think Firebrand needs his LVL3 buffed and his Demon Missiles buffed. Take out that stupid ass unblockable.

Zero is fair aside from his damage output. I've been through this before, but basically:Doesn't that speak moreso to Zero being too good rather than Firebrand being bad? Firebrand is a strong point character that a lot of the cast can barely fight at all.
The overall best player in the world keeps being mentioned and of course the two names that pop up the most are Tokido and Chris G. Let's see how they stack up.
Who would win in what games? All games seem to appear in many tournaments and are active in some form or another.
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 = Chris G
Case closed, Chris G wins.
Kid IcarusOk Gaf buddies, I've just bought a 3DS, what games should I buy? (not just FG's)
Kid Icarus
Monster Hunter 3U
Super Mario 3D Land
All must-buys.
So ChrisG wins western games and Tokido wins eastern ones.The overall best player in the world keeps being mentioned and of course the two names that pop up the most are Tokido and Chris G. Let's see how they stack up.

Super Street Fighter IV Æ = Tokido
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 = Chris G
King of Fighters XIII = Tokido
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 = Tokido
Mortal Kombat 9 = Chris G
Injustice = Chris G
Soul Calibur V = Tokido
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike = Tokido
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo = Tokido
Skullgirls = Chris G
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown = Tokido
Blazblue CSE = Tokido
Persona 4 Arena = Tokido
Divekick = Chris G
Dead or Alive 5 = Tokido
Darkstalkers = Tokido
Capcom vs SNK 2 = Tokido
That's Tokido's 12 to Chris G's 5. Tokido is the number one overall best player in the world of fighting games.
Gotta admit, Divekick Markman is sounding pretty fun. Does he have a win pose that's like the CEO promo with you laughing maniacally?*divekick markman stuff*
I'm sorry.My copy of Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend should be arriving in the mail today. I'm excited to try it out. (I've never played Blazblue before).
What the hell am I posting this in the Marvel OT for?
The 'MarkMan' character references and has abilities similar to that of Phoenix Wright from UMVC3 and some TEKKEN-ish quirks.
I'm sorry.
What platform?My copy of Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend should be arriving in the mail today. I'm excited to try it out. (I've never played Blazblue before).
It's not that bad if you've never played the others and he'll have a hell of time with all the single player stuff.I'm sorry.
I felt like the single player was a chore. There's an enormous amount of reading, and then you find out you're playing the "false" story time and time again. So you have to create multiple save points to go back just to find out what the hell actually happened, and by the time you finish you don't even remember which one was the "true" story anyway because it's so easy to mix the facts up.It's not that bad if you've never played the others and he'll have a hell of time with all the single player stuff.

Haha, well if I don't like it, it was only $16 including shipping for the LE. Can't be as bad as SFxT, which I regrettably purchased at launch for $60.I'm sorry.
PS3.What platform?
It should be fun, I hear the tutorial and mission modes are really indepth as well.It's not that bad if you've never played the others and he'll have a hell of time with all the single player stuff.
What exactly do you mean by that?Every character is Shuma-Gorath.
I would have shipped you my copy of BBCE for your copy of SFxT!Haha, well if I don't like it, it was only $16 including shipping for the LE. Can't be as bad as SFxT, which I regrettably purchased at launch for $60.
Frustrating, unintuitive combos. The only character that makes sense to me is Tager.What exactly do you mean by that?
It's a shame it didn't work out for you. BB's simpleness and story have been two of it's major strong points versus the Guilty Gear series. I used to think BB was the ABCs of anime until ASW delivered P4A.I felt like the single player was a chore. But I was mostly talking about the frustration of learning basic combos with any given character. It's a huge time investment just to ABC in a match. Every character is Shuma-Gorath.
Nothing is as bad as SFxT. CSE's problem was being a followup to two better predecessors and the measly upgrade. It's a decent anime game for people who don't really play anime.Haha, well if I don't like it, it was only $16 including shipping for the LE. Can't be as bad as SFxT, which I regrettably purchased at launch for $60.
Yeah, the mission modes are excellent. Two input styles, instant replays for all mission combos and a ton of them is good stuff. It gave me a good idea of what I'd be dealing with if I tried any character.It should be fun, I hear the tutorial and mission modes are really indepth as well.
Skullgirls is getting a drunk announcer voice pack as part of the reward for the IGG campaign. Don't know of any other "colorful commentary" in the genre atm.So... fighting game announcers.
So, why don't we have more of these? It seems like the Street Fighter series has the monopoly on colorful commentary that happens before, during and after the match. One of the best things about Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Capcom vs SNK 2 is their announcers. Also liked the announcer in the original version of SF4 before they changed the voice to bland Optimus Prime wannabe.
I don't care if the unblockable is on fucking Hsien Ko... it should be removed. We can remake Firebrand or buff other aspects of him... it doesn't really matter.Firebrand is a piece of shit without the unblockable. You need to rebuild him from the ground up if that's the case. I just figured I could trade a game I don't play at all for one I could play for a day and then never play again. Seems like a good idea.It's a shame it didn't work out for you. BB's simpleness and story have been two of it's major strong points versus the Guilty Gear series. I used to think BB was the ABCs of anime until ASW delivered P4A.

Zero isn't getting any changes, because this game is not getting patched.I don't care if the unblockable is on fucking Hsien Ko... it should be removed. We can remake Firebrand or buff other aspects of him... it doesn't really matter.
Also Zero is getting nerfed too especially his damage output... after the nerf his damage would be near to buffed Firebrand's damage only FBs combos would be way easier. Buster is not always charged up so it's sort of unfair to compare regular fireballs to that... Firebrand can toss like 3 fireballs using the wall cling technique before Zero can toss out one Buster.
We are talking hypothetical changes here. This is all for the lulz, no need to get salty over it.Zero isn't getting any changes, because this game is not getting patched.
You are free to feel that way. This bit sounds like just about everything in the genre except Smash lol.BB isn't simple, it's slow. There are no ABC combos in it. Everything is unintuitive for the sake of being unintuitive.

Ive decided to get people motivated to find some good combos by throwing a little contest.
How to enter:
1. Find the highest hit combo you can find with any fighter in the game.
2. Record yourself preforming the combo and upload it online.
3. Post a link to the combo as a reply to this blog post.
Whoever posts the highest hit combo by the end of day May 31 will win 200 $ and a one of a kind in game badge.
Note post ko combos do not count. Using hacks or mods to the game will not count. In event of a tie the person who posted a reply first will win.
Good luck
Hahaha. Well, then you will sympathize with my point. Buster and Bon Voyage cover the same angles and have the same purpose, but Buster does it better in every way. Meanwhile, Bon Voyage is Firebrand's only good move outside of the unblockable, and Zero's entire moveset is godlike.We are talking hypothetical changes here. This is all for the lulz, no need to get salty over it.
I would take Buster for any character that I play by the way. Not for the fireball itself but for the safety it provides and being able to cancel my special moves into it.
Zero is the best character in the game, I will never change from that stance even if he doesn't win a tournament for 10 years.
That's why Smash Bros and Marvel are the two best fighting games. Simple and intuitive play instead of forcing people to practice links for 10 hours before they can enjoy a match.You are free to feel that way. This bit sounds like just about everything in the genre except Smash lol.

This is precisely why I don't play SSF4:AE very much. I prefer games with something like Marvel's magic series or chain combos. Being able to cancel normals into each other makes more sense to me than really strict timing between moves for no good reason.Simple and intuitive play instead of forcing people to practice links for 10 hours before they can enjoy a match.

Edit: I hope you grace me with a full report of your experiences.
The only reason Q likes slow games like Blazblue is because he's a turtle.Shhh don't let Q hear you say that.
They made P4A, though.
