Female villains in games

It took me forever to find out how to kill her when playing tomb raider 3. she was one of the more interesting villains in the game also.

Agreed. I hate that Capcom thought that was a good idea to change her in the US so they wouldn't bring up the concept of men beating on women. To this day, most people don't know this backstory and knowing that Capcom basically lied to bring her to the US market still solidify her as a female :)
Capcom has been pretty open about Poison being trans in recent media:
Yoshinori Ono, when asked in an interview about the matter, stated "Let's set the record straight: in North America, Poison is officially a post-op transsexual. But in Japan, she simply tucks her business away to look female."

There's no question about it.

Before the final battle, Mario can choose to either "Refuse this witch!" or "Become her servant!" via dialogue. And if he picks the latter, the Shadow Queen engulfs the world with her magic and Mario becomes her slave for all eternity. Dahk shtuff.

I had no idea!

My favorite:

I'm going to assume that spoilers are fair game in this thread.

So, I'm going to say that Dahlia Hawthorne is probably one of the most evil, terrible female villains ever. She's a complete sociopath. And I love her for it. I actually *felt* like she was evil. As in, "Holy shit, she's terrible".

She's one of my favorite villains of all time, actually. SHE'S EVEN A VILLAIN FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE.

Irisu from Irisu Syndrome
is an interesting one. Calling her a villain might be slightly misrepresentative since it's not completely clear how the canon storyline plays out, but she's evidently a sachet of cough medicine short of a medicine cabinet. The game you play is basically a representation of one she plays in her head to keep herself from going batshit.

Shinobu

I really wish Suda had gone through with the original plot for Shinobu in No More Heroes. You were originally supposed to fighter her twice, with her second fight replacing Holly Summers. Holly's fight theme is even named after Shinobu ("Summer Samurai"), and it was supposed to be Shinobu's death that traumatized Travis into realizing that fighting in the UAA was not some fun little game.

Sigh.
