Nintendo Direct 5/17 4PM CEST, 7AM PST, focus on First Party Wii U Summer Titles

That is exactly why this Nintendo Direct is going to be great, in a way, because then we KNOW that those games won't appear or will only get a mention at the one before E3 starts.

This Direct is going to be so shit. Hopefully they get the Pikmin, W101, Game and Wario and Wii Fit U footage out of the way now...

I don't really think that's much of a deciding factor. Both games are so fundamentally different that I doubt there'll be much of an overlap between them. Of course, there are the Platinum fans who'll want to pick everything they make, but I don't think that group of people is large enough to make much of a difference.
Actually, thinking about it right now, I'd say that releasing both games close to each other makes them more likely to pick up a Wii U sooner rather than later. I think a huge chunk of that particular group would rather wait until Bayonetta 2 releases to pick up the console and W101 than to buy it now for just a single game.
I do want to say that I don't actually expect Bayonetta 2 to hit in September, though. A few months ago I thought W101 might be a July/August release and I think having the sequel to Bayonetta in September/October would give both games enough room to breathe. However, as things are I think it's very unlikely that Nintendo will release W101 alongside Pikmin 3 and I can't imagine that they'll release it before Pikmin hits the store shelves. W101 really needs Pikmin 3 to release before it, I think. So, with W101 potentially being released in September, Bayo 2 would be a little difficult to fit in this year.
However, if Bayonetta 2 is in a state that it could be released, I don't think that Nintendo can afford to hold it back. They need everything they have to help Wii U's holiday sales as much as possible.

We're all pretty much expecting a FFVII remake to be announced and subsequently released over the summer.

Still amazes me that after all this time we still get super excited when a Nintendo Direct is announced.
I do hope we get to see more of X or finally Retro's new game, at least in part with the full break down coming at the E3 Direct. A tease now would get everyone greatly anticipating the E3 Direct and talking until then.
I do hope we finally get more information on Wonderful 101. I want to know about the replay nature of the game. I want that $60 purchase to be as easy as possible come release.

By process of elimination W101 will be in September because it won't come earlier than Pikmin 3 and they won't put it in the same month. W101 and Pikmin 3 are the only summer titles I have an interest in. If they plan on going on about Wii Party U and Game and Wario, it will be awful.

What if they show these games in this Direct and then show them again for a long time in the next Direct. Remember what happened last year? 
That was my first thought as well.
Then I remebered last year's E3. Having all of the OS stuff in the Direct didn't prevent Nintendo from showing everything a second time. I hope they won't repeat that this year...
