Amazon PCDD Mayhem Sale 5/16-5/31 (This sale is actually quite good)

Caved in and bought Bastion and Deus Ex as well. I was going to pick up the Alice and Dragon Age 1 packs until I saw they were Origin activated. For shame.

Edit: Went ahead and picked up Hell Yeah now...! HALP!

I don't NEED to, but I'm trying to make the transition from Xbox 360 to PC.

Want to pick up the Bioshocks, GTA 4 complete, and Deus Ex, and X-com bundle.

Deus Ex I know plays well on PC, but I've heard such random stories on GTA 4 and Bioshock - is it worth trying?

Tomb Raider, is it very linear or is there any wide open spaces to traverse? Is traversal still an important aspect or is it more of a straight forward 3rd person shooter?

It's mostly linear...few places to explore. I still personally enjoyed the game a lot. If you like Uncharted you will like it.

GTA 4 is a bit of a hog, but any core i5 / i7 should handle it. Last time I played it, it ran fine, beat both expansions while using a GTX 560ti 1gb and was getting like 45+ fps at 1080p on high.

Bioshocks run just fine, the main issue people have (me included) is that they don't support native gamepad support. I've heard a few complaints about the mouse smoothing, but it doesn't bother me.

I bought Sonic Transformed and it's pretty fun. I like the boost and drifting challenges. The settings are also nicely diverse, something you don't really see in Mario Kart (HEY HOW ABOUT ANOTHER LEVEL BASED ON BOWSER'S CASTLE?). Not really digging the items though.

GTA IV is a bad PC port but still with decent hardware it's still the best version. GFWL is a bummer though but I haven't run into any specific GFWL related issues with the game but YMMV.

Thanks. I may wait for the next sale. I'm almost certainly getting Max Payne 3 so I'm sure ill get my 3rd person shooter fill for now.

GTA 4 is terribly optimized and heavily CPU bound. Some people have good luck running it and others do not with little rhyme nor reason as to why. It can also be modded to look insanely good. Bioshock will run on just about anything, but you'll have to deal with the quirks of GFWL. Both games are very good and it's just a question of if you'll be okay with dealing with their individual issues.
Is Devil May Cry ever going to go on sale??
It's not even available on the Digital Download Store.

Long shot, but is there anybody out there who just wants LA Noire Complete and wants to split the Max Payne 3/LA Noire pack with me for $5?

Appreciate all in input! I think I'll run with Bioshock pack for sure and GTA 4 complete. If it doesn't work, it's no more than I would have spent on fast food or something.

After a quick glance. Gonna get Bully Scholarship Edition and maybe Baldur's Gate: EE. Might checkout Manhunt 1 & 2 when they go on sale. So many choices!

Those games were released years ago, today's hardware completely crushes them performance-wise so any framerate horror stores are outdated in my experience.

Is the digital deluxe version of Mass Effect 3 worth it over just the base game?

Have they ever fixed the bugs on the PC version of Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection?

I was just researching this, lol! I can't seem to find much info on the PC version. My brother would die if there was a decent PC version of Mortal Kombat 2 with a healthy community.

Awesome. Glad I waited on that Assassin's Creed 3 DLC. Was looking forward to giving that stuff a try.

GAF, help me out...

I got a $5 credit I want to use towards one game, can't decide.

Dawn of War II, Shogun 2, Civ V or Xcom?

I'm going to recommend Unity of Command. Turn-based strategy (but it looks like you're a strategy guy) and just an incredibly solid, deep, engaging game.

Really can't recommend it enough, and it's only $5 right now.

Not just worth it, but essential.

First of all, decide if you want real time or turn-based.

DOW2 is excellent and so is X-Com. Shogun 2, have not played. Civ V is not that great.

Am I understanding correctly that AC3 is not on sale? If so, Ubi is really trying their hardest to keep the value of their games high for a longer time. Ubi games used to go on sale like crazy.

I am interested in Sonic Generations for $3. If you are buying either the Ultimate Dreamcast Pack or the Sonic Action Pack (both of which are big picks of games which include Sonic Generations), but you already have or don't want Generations, PM me and I will Paypal you for the game. $3 is about what the game contributes to the bundle pricing, so I think that's fair. I don't care about the Casino Night DLC but if you are offering it, I will take it.

Bioshock 2 doesn't have Mirnerva's Den right? I'd have to buy that DLC separate?

Currently yes, however it looks like they're adding achievements (including achievements for Minerva's Den) to the Steam version, which would also imply them selling Minerva's Den on Steam. And also possibly patching out GFWL. So you can look at it as an investment in the future. But it'll be available on Amazon's next PC sale so it's no big rush.

Already picked up a lot of these during their amazing holiday sales, but still amazing nonetheless. I'll probably pick up Lego Batman 2. <3 Amazon
