All games on Steam continue to get cheaper in perpetuity until the base price hits 19.99 and the deal price hits 75% off. At that point, you may see a lower price but it's not guaranteed and unlikely to be outside a bundle. So ultimately if you're not planning on playing the game before the next major sale event, there's literally no reason to buy anything above that price point.
To please the peanut gallery -- Yes, yes, unfortunate logic, ruining the industry, poor developers, etc. In the mean time, if you've already gone this long without the game and don't plan to play it for a while, you can wait longer.

The OP states today's sales price at $19.99 (retail price is $39.99) it's actually cheaper now.

I believe the difference is the DRM method: the $7 one is a download game code, the one above is the direct download one from Amazon (game installer).

I understand buying steam games and kinda playing them for 3 seconds or telling yourself you will play it soon because it looks good, but buying a game you won't even install? I don't get that.
I have dozens I've never installed. But maybe one day I'll be in the mood... (nope)
I also buy NES/SNES/Genesis/PS1/N64 games on eBay without any plans to play/replay them.
My intangible Steam library is just as important to me as my physical game collection. I'm a hoarder.

I'm looking for another good arcade racer, so I can't decide between Sonic All-Stars or Sonic Transformed. That Sonic Action Pack looks mighty tempting, but the only two games I would really want out of it is All Stars and Generations. I couldn't care about the rest.
This is one of those moments where I hate not having a credit card. I'd love Mark of the Ninja for that price... With a bit of luck it might be that price in the next steam sale.

Credit cards aren't as ubiquitous in Europe (or at least my part (the netherlands)) as they are in the US. We even have our own little system where you can plug your bank debit card into a pocket calculator-like device for online purchases. Even steam accepts payment via that method.

Even then I don't think that game is worth the $12. But everyone sets their own desired value.
Did you get it already? Because I'm tempted by the pack, and I already own that game, so I could part with it.

I got it earlier in the big Sonic pack and it runs fine at 1440x900 on my ancient 4870.
I've decided to install it to take high-res screenshots with the new graphical patches.
Probably still looks like shit, but whatever. I think the hype about how terrible that game is probably a bit overblown. It's like a 4 or 5 out of 10, right? I think Resident Evil 6 is a 5/10 and I had some fun with that game.
It can't possibly be as bad as Medal of Honor: Warfighter and I paid $60 for that.

I ended up getting Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed for the split screen. I've pretty much picked up all the other games I want in Steam sales by now.
Just picked up the Dreamcast collection too. Who wants copies of Sonic Generations or JSR? PM me if you want the key for one. Don't be greedy and ask for both.
