I'm liking it ok so far, but I think playing it at 60fps makes a big difference. I have no idea how bad it looked when it launched, either, and $12 isn't $50, so my view's probably a bit skewed compared to those that bought it on day one.

The Saints Row The Third season pass is a steam code right? It just says online game code on the description and does not mention any services.

Off-Topic-I have a question. I just order the disc version of Outrun 2006: Coast To Coast at Amazon. Can I redeem the cd key on Steam for a digital copy? Even if the game is no longer available on the Steam store?
 
Seriously antitrop don't buy Aliens. You thought Warfighter was bad ? Wait until you see Aliens. Don't let it infect your steam library! Buy some beer, buy a pizza, anything that's not that pile of shite! At least with Warfighter it doesn't tread on anything in particular, with Aliens they pretended they cared about the franchise and then shat it out with it's shite story additions.

Just dig out your Aliens dvd/bluray and watch that instead and if you are really tempted just remember it'll be $5 by xmas!
 
Does anyone know if the Microsoft 5 pack comes as a single code or 5 separate codes? I only want 1 or 2 games in the bundle so it would make more sense to buy them individually unless I can just gift the extra copies away.

The deal has been done, my $12 is gone and Satan is that much more wealthy.
 
I'm interested in Crusader Kings II. Should I play it vanilla before I add in all that DLC or does the DLC make the game better?
 
Counter Strike GO is £5.99 on Steam, since I don't have an online multi shooter to waste time on my pc I'm considering getting it.. what is the general consensus on it? Worth buying?

I uninstalled after the first week, but I hear the patches that have dropped since then have really improved it.

If you wouldn't mind posting some impressions after you got a chance to play it (assuming you do actually end up installing it) that would be awesome.


Oh yeah, also re-recommending Unity of Command for any turn-based strategy fans. $5. C'mon. It's a steal. Even if you've ever just considered trying a real war game. Really easy to get started if you're intimidated by the genre.

It makes playing some dynasties/countries more interesting (Italian trade republics, Byzantium etc.) or allows you to play some others which aren't available in vanilla (Muslims). If you suspect you're going to like the game, paying extra $5 for all the available DLC is so worth it.

Keep in mind the biggest expansion yet (The Old Gods) is about to be released, but once you're done exploring the content available to you in the current Amazon pack, you'll happily shell out some money for it if you're still interested in it at that point.

I bought the Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed game, and I'm loving it already. I don't even consider myself a super huge Sega fan but seeing all these characters and themed levels literally brings a smile to my face, and the colorful levels look awesome.
Now I'm considering getting the first Sonic Racing game, but I read it has four of the same levels. Is it still worth getting for $5?
 
I'm kinda disappointed the Sonic Action Pack doesn't include Sonic Adventure 2. I guess I'll get the Ultimate Dreamcast Pack instead.

Edit: Dreamcast Collection isn't a Steam game? Fuck.
 
I noticed the direct download version of Spectromancer was on sale with all 3 of its "expansions" for $2.99 so I picked up and discovered something rather interesting. On Steam the 3 "expansions" are sold as DLC and each is priced at $9.99 in addition to the base game which is also $9.99. Logically, you'd think this means each "expansion" adds new and different content and you'd require all 3 of them to get the complete experience, right? Wrong. Turns out each "DLC expansion" is actually an upgrade to the game which includes all the changes from the previous versions. Gathering of Power supersedes Truth & Beauty which supersedes League of Heroes.

This is not mentioned at all on Steam and I only discovered it when I went looking thru their forums and found this post. Indeed, you can download the latest version of the game directly from their site and use the activation code you get from Amazon to unlock the full game which I'd also recommend as the Amazon version is 1.3 and there's a newer 1.32 version available.
