Tommy, Malcolm and Moira's actors are the only ones on the show that can really act. Especially Malcolm and Moira. They're really good.
I still say Amell's underrated considering that he's playing a few different versions of Ollie.

Other than that the acting on this show blows but it's not that big of a deal.

"I love Soy" was all I could hear.

Hahahahaha the Slur got burned #Dead

Malcom is dead. Tommy is dead. I don't understand why people think differently. Also I don't get people saying that Tommy was the best actor on the show. I thought he was horrible, even for CW standards.

The big red flag here is this is a TV show. If Malcolm did "die", it would have occurred off screen, which more often than not in TV land means the person will return. Whether Ollie was lying or not to Tommy is up in the air and can go either way but again, I am leaning towards it being truth simply because who the fuck lies to their dying friend? Not to mention, Ollie at the time is hoping he survives, so if he says hes alive, if Tommy survived and found out his father did die, how do you think he would react? And again, the arrow pierced Ollie in the same exact spot it did Malcolm (which clearly looks like the heart) but walks away as if it was a flesh wound, which leads me to believe it was meant more for the collar bone but ended up as an oversight in the costume/make up dept.

I certainly don't believe Tommy is alive, but I do stand by the possibility of Malcolm having survived. but again, the biggest red flag... Comic book TV show... Have you never seen 24 ?(not a comic book based TV show, but you get the idea)

Amell is a decent actor who is going to get better as the show goes on. The Speedies are far worse.

"Redundancy, Oliver. I had...a second heart."

If they wanted to bring him back, they could say that Ollie just missed his heart by a few inches.

He's signed up to Scandal season 2 now apparently, so it's unlikely he'll return, but if he were to, the door is always open. It's not a clear killshot as mentioned above. There's some leeway.

oh fuck yeah i was hoping that wasnt a one-time thing. they'll let him flex his acting muscles a lot more.

I'm pretty sure Merlin died considering he fell face down with his eyes open.

Tommy's death was quite shocking honestly. Didn't think it would happen. It's nice though, because this means they won't be going down the cliche "son assumes father's role, becomes evil" or whatever. I wonder if Moira stops being a regular too.

I think Amell's acting playing herp-derp playboy Oliver on the island has been great.

His delivery of "You know, it's pretty exciting that both of you are such badasses" awhile back completely slayed me.

A gift for you all

Oliver sat seated upon a crate in the derelict cargo plane. He sat up right as Slade entered through the side. It was Monday and that meant it was shaving day. Ollie could not shave his own face without cutting himself so he left that task to his right hand man. Slade kneeled in front of Oliver and took out his shaving utensils. Seeing Slade in front of Ollie sent goosebumps through his body. He was shaking from excitement and from lust.
“Ok then, let’s get started.” Slade applied the shaving cream all over Ollie’s face. As he applied it he massaged his skin. This feels good, Ollie thought to himself as Slade continued his craft.
The razor Slade used was big and sharp, just like something else, Ollie muttered under his breath.
“What was that? Slade said smiling; he had caught what Mr. Queen said but that alright, he would get him back. Slade shaved the rest of Ollie’s facial hair and smiled at his work. It was like art shaving such a beautiful face.
As Slade smiled he took his hand and pressed his thumb over Oliver’s lip. He could feel Ollie’s body shake from just that touch. Slade continued running his thumb over his lip and finally took it away and he kneeled there starting into the billionaire’s eyes. Look at him, so perfect. I could teach him a few things.
Slade leaned towards Ollie’s face and their lips met. Oliver could feel Slade’s warm breath. It made him feel alive again. Oliver did not want this moment to end. Oliver kissed Slade with such force it took Slade aback. He wants me, Slade thought, mind racing as they continued to kiss.

About halfway through the finale, I was really expecting this to end like Smallville did almost every season- a cliffhanger with every single regular character in mortal peril.

This show is awesome! I honestly wasn't expecting it to be. I'm hooked in the way Prison Break and Heroes Season 1 grabbed me. I'm up to episode 20.

Also Willia Holland is cute.

Slade is the epitome of 'It ain't the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean'.

He probably bangs more hot women everyday then we will in our entire lives, put together. And he probably utterly satisfies them.

Cause he's motherfuckin' Slade Wilson. And he don't give a fuck. He just that good. Manu's got that shit on lockdown.

I bet him and Shado are already banging, unbeknownst to Ollie.

"What were all those noises I was hearing last night, Slade?"

"We whuh just wurking out, Olivuh."

Good end to the season. This show is surprisingly solid. Never expected to enjoy this when I heard it was announced, even after seeing the previews I was still very iffy. But the writers have consistently delivered a fun show every week. No filler.

That was a great finale. The show managed to pay-off everything that had been set-up, while leaving everything wide-open for next season. It would be cool if they went the No Man's Land route with the Glades. Just have the place completely overtaken by the criminal element, and Ollie has to go on a huge murderous rampage.

I wonder where they're going with the island next year? While they could deal with Fyre's benefactor sending a team in to figure out what happened, I'd prefer they be done with it. Just have Slade show up in the city, and go from there.

At any rate, it's going to be a long summer.

We need Merlyn in prison fic to pass the time. You know he ain't dead.

well, right afterwards Ollie and Diggle walked away, maybe Merlyn was passed out, regained consciousness and is now in hiding.

There's no way Diggle (an ex army vet) and Ollie (a mass murderer and jason bourne trained badass) would simply walk away from a man that blew up half the city without making sure he's dead... at the very least if he's alive he'd probably be cuffed and thrown underneath Ollie's club for awhile.

I think someone in the thread said they want to milk the island all the way to the series finale... which would suck, so I hope it's not true. At some point I'd like the island stuff to come to a close (preferably before a hypothetical finale that could be 10 years down the line).

Yeah they said they wanted it drawn out for the duration of the show, and that in the series final the last island scene is the one from the start of the first episode.

Hey Malcolm left Ollie chained up w/ no guards watching him. It's really all a matter of how they want to contrive it to advance the story. They could easily write their way out of this. But if Barrowman's a regular on Scandal now than Malcolm might just be dead. Unless they want to bring him back for a guest spot or something.

I'm on the both tommy and merlyn are dead. They both dropped dead on the floor there's not reason why they wouldn't be. Also no way would Ollie let him live.

Arrow's costume in Injustice is the reason why I bought the game.

Love this show.

Wonder Woman paired off with Arrow will piss off Supernatural fangirls....which means, I APPROVE!!!

Hahaha

They better keep the ice cream orgasm scene in the Amazon pilot.

Edit: You know most of the time, the Ollie/Laurel romance is complete shit, but that scene between Amell and Cassidy in his house, the whole "you believed in me" shit was actually decent. Amell managed to sell that shit.

EW interview with the exec producers on the finale and what's coming for Season 2. Turns out... Malcolm's dead too :(

http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/05/16/arrow-season-finale-post-mortem/

Where does season 2 go from here? “Our whole approach to the show has always been, we like to pass the time in-between episodes in real-time. So we will feel that three-to-four month gap, but basically The Glades being destroyed, I keep referring to it as season 2’s version of ‘the notebook.’ The notebook was the main thing that created a lot of story engine for us and the consequences and the figurative after-shocks of the earthquake are going to provide the new story engine for season 2.”

The way-cool effects: “The explosion on the island, that’s real — that was an actual explosion that was shot. The only thing that was added with visual effects was the missile itself. I actually felt bad for the special effects guys because I thought the explosion looked so good that people would think it was a computer effect. But that was all practical. One of the advantages of knowing what we were going to do early on was we were able to set aside money as we were going through the season. we called it ‘the kitty,’ where we just kept putting money aside.”

What’s the deal with Det. Lance? “We have really exciting plans for Lance in season 2. I don’t want to spoil them, but he definitely turns a corner in the finale as far as The Hood is concerned. Our goal has always been to make him our version of Commissioner Gordon. What I will say is that the scene that he has with Lieutenant Pike, where he basically outs himself as having worked with The Hood instead of capturing him, that will have huge repercussions for him in season two.”

Felicity, Dig, and Oliver unite! “I think that trinity, that trio, has really benefited us, in large part because the actors are so strong and they’re so good together and Diggle and Felicity and Oliver are all very different kinds of characters, so the key I think, when you’re putting together a group like that, is that they not all be so similar that it’s like an echo chamber.”

Killing Tommy: “We creatively opened ourselves up to the possibility of killing Tommy around the time we were doing episode 16. I think around episode 18 is when we fully committed to doing it. I can’t say enough about what a class act Colin Donnell is. He gave 120 percent every single day, every single scene, every single line of dialogue, from the moment he found out what our plans were all the way up to the very end. People on the crew were asking us, ‘Look at what Colin is doing. Have you changed your mind?’ Killing Tommy was never about Colin’s performance. It was always about if we do this, what stories does it tell? It’s definitely something I feel conflicted about, but that said, I think it was the right thing — especially as we start to talk about season two [and] the impact that Tommy’s death has on not just on Oliver, but all of our characters.

Is Malcolm Merlyn really dead? “Well, it certainly looks that way. John Barrowman is amazing and we love him and the one thing I will say with respect to both Tommy’s death and Malcolm Merlyn’s death is this is a show that does flashbacks.”

I certainly hope they can wrangle a way down the line to retcon Malcolm's death... but even if he stays dead, Malcolm is a fantastic villain, one who definitely will leave an impact on the show and legacy of the characters that follow in his footsteps. They better think long and hard about what the next Big Bad will be and if he can measure up to the Dark Archer. John Barrowman was perfect casting.

Anyone notice that Malcolm is totally stealing Jigsaw's motive?
I mean they both wanted the scum of the streets to learn from their mistakes.
They both had wives with clinics in seedy areas.
Both of their wives were attacked by said scum.
Both swore vengeance for the damage done to their wives by killing people.

It makes me happy to read that they'll likely be bringing back those characters in the flashbacks. It's hard not to worry that they killed off Tommy just so Oliver and Laurel could get back together. The two have zero chemistry.
