THEY HAVE THIS TECHNOLOGY???

I bet this is how bigfoot has remained so illusive.

No, that's mostly because he has to spend 20 hours a day applying the paint.

I bet he's relating to the stripes that are on the devkit and controller and not some sort of paint that physically prevents photos being made from it.

Four days. Fuck.
Busy weekend for me too so it'll go even faster. Three day weekend because I'm Canadian, I'm basically already there. The future is awesome, friends.

I am starting to feel the hype now guys. I am hoping to see Alan Wake 2 their in all its glory. Is it safe to dream big yet?

Which still doesn't make sense on why they can't take a picture. lol.

They use patterns in a lot of products, but pictures get taken regardless.

My only theory is that it maybe a specific pattern to a specific dev kit. A picture would identify the company and leaker immediately.

Doesn't explain why someone couldn;t just change the colours or remove the patterns... or get someone to do a mock up.

Before 360 people had talked about the logo being 'a nexus' and that the faceplate curved in the middle, like it was breathing in.

MS must have done something interesting to these devkits for us to have not seen a single visual leak of the machine or accessories. Even companies like Ubisoft who are usually leak happy have been quiet.

I'm sure next week when people can finally talk about the machine, we find out what that was.

It would be interesting to know how all of that worked backstage indeed... I'm not sure such secrecy is necessary for a gaming console (the glimpse of the PS4 SDK + pad was nice, but nothing earth-shattering), but MS obviously developed their talent at containing information.

threatened to sue them into obvlivion/withhold dev equipment from them in the future

I wonder how the teams at Sony feel?

Must be an interesting working environment in their marketing and coms teams - they will be watching this like hawks.

They probably know exactly what is happening, of course, but it must be tense.

MS absolutely piled on the glitz for the 360 launch... and Sony's event was months ago so they know what they have to beat!

Holy shit. Holy. SHIT!

Notice anything odd about that '4'..? The slight curve in the diagonal, for example? The totally NON-STANDARD FONT curve??!

It looks like the catenary in a suspension bridge cable. And what are suspension bridge cables made of?

Wires. Lots of wires, people. WIRES.

Xbox Wire. 100% confirmed.

I'm already far too excited for this, lol.

I really really really really really really REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that they keep the horror undertones. Return to the Haunted Cathedral and Robbing the Cradle are two of the best levels in all of gaming.

Dude, no, that curve is totally an inhale.

GAF... A technical question:

Based on the 'supposed' specs.... how small could the console be and will it have a power brick?

Well we dont know, but the specs dont really suggest a small console.

In fact I believe someone claimed to know Durango has a 220 watt PSU, larger than 360 on launch. This was months ago too (which makes it pretty suspect how somebody would know that, but anyway)

There's is going to be a lot of stuff in there that draws electricity, even like USB ports and the Blu Ray drive and Kinect. I'm not saying it's a hog, but dont expect anything substantially smaller than a launch 360 imo.

Along those same lines I personally would definitely bet on an external brick as well.

FWIW the TDP of a 10 CU 1000mhz AMD GCN HD7770 (~1.2 TF) is 80 watts. That would include 1GB GDDR5.

The old rumors put Durango GPU at 1.2 TF, but by way of 12 CU's and 800 mhz. So it should draw less power, maybe 70 watts?

This oldass table http://www.geeks3d.com/20090618/graphics-cards-thermal-design-power-tdp-database/ claims a 7800GTX drew 81 watts. A 7800GTX ~RSX which ~Xenos. So I think we can assume the same.

So by that you might be in the area of 360 power draw, but I really cant say, maybe an 8 core Jag draws significantly less than the old 360 CPU.
