Why is that your main take away from a graphic that shows that Halo isn't even in the top five?

In that analogy, microsoft is a farmer, and milking is what farmers are supposed to do. It's not a competition to sell the least.

I snorted a bit at the last sentence. But see I like to leave those statements without pointing out the obvious they sort of sit for a bit and then many times the poster looks back on what they posted and go "OHSHIT" and spend a couple more posts trying to subtly removing themselves from what they said.

All together Forza(every single one ever released) is probably around 15~ million.

Hopefully Turn 10 can convince some of the Xbox crowd to get off CoD and get on some Forza.

There's some truth to it. Halo may not be the worst case, but many of the top sold franchises are those that got milked a lot (COD, Guitar Hero, Assassin's Creed, ...).
Even if some gamers don't like it, from the point of view of a publisher, there is no reason to stop doing that. Games like Gran Turismo probably suffer from their long development cycles ; even if each episode sells a lot, it doesn't catch up "faster" franchises when cumulated over the years.

I had the PN64D7000 but my 4 year old son cracked the screen Now I'm in the market for a new TV. Not sure if I should go with a 65" ST60 or go with the 60" VT60. I wonder if the image quality is worth sacrificing 5" for, then there's the lag issue that I can't tell how bad until I test it, I sit about 8-10 ft away.

VT60 has less input lag.

In that case Halo is pretty light in the "milking" dept compared to many franchises that don't get regularly called out for milking.( i've even heard people call out MS for "milking"Gears as well a few times. I think that's still a lot less pressure than taking an established franchise over from a beloved dev and having to be compared to their best work. Like 343i. With a new IP, not a lot of expectations to live up to. Just have to worry about greating a great game/universe.

The first Condemned and DS1/2 were amazing, hopefully Black Tusk will deliver something that will rival those with even more focus on isolation and exploration. Also really curious to see how the game will look like art direction wise.

Hopefully MS will take risks with their new IP's, I really like to see fresh things.

Yes, in a way. It didn't match the sales or cultural significance of Halo, but the affect it had on other games (even in different genres) was massive. There've been so many games this gen that clearly took inspiration or straight out copied mechanics and features from the Gears games.

It wasn't officially stated, it was a rumour that they working on a sci-fi FPS with horror elements. Apologies, I should have stated that in my original post.

Absolutely. Condemend 1 still stands as the best horror FPS on consoles. To see it bettered would be a glorious day, but it'll be no mean feat.

Agreed, MS really do need to take more risks again. I can understand their decision to fall into safe IPs, but their output towards the start of this generation was great. Viva Pinata, Halo Wars, Crackdown, etc. All were bigs risks and while they didn't pay off as much as they'd have hoped, they did bring some much needed diversity to the lineup.

That's a very,very long shot but if MS has dug deep to get a next gen timed exclusive key word next gen so the PS3 and 360 versions would still be coming but MS would have a Xbox Next version near or on launch. I wonder how tempted R* would be with such an offer?
