I don't want to interact with my TV beyond FF, Pause, Rewind, Play. People are running away from Cable/Satellite. Not towards them. I hope I'm completely misreading what their plans are, but if it involves interacting with cable TV...snooooooze. Nintendo tried that with TVii. If they've signed contracts to allow ala carte channel purchases, I'm onboard.
I see demons. Incredible nightmares.
I think they will bring in loads of non gamers when people realize they can go all minority report with their cable provider. It's a smart move.Eh, the demise of cable is slightly overblown in my opinion. People may be running from Cable/Satellite, but that doesn't mean they don't want television content anymore. To me, it's roughly equivalent to saying that people are running from VHS when DVD started taking off. It's just that the times are changing and the medium in which the content is being delivered, and the way it's presented is changing. People want more of their content on-demand, and not at arbitrary time slots throughout the day. Inventions like the DVR have helped solve this problem some what. The next natural step is IPTV, which has yet to really take off as far as I'm aware. The NextBox might propel it into the mainstream though.
I used to never have cable until about a year ago. But now I use it all the time. I almost exclusively watch On-Demand stuff as well. Very rarely do I watch a live event (though I did watch The Office finale live last night). The main thing that sucks about cable is really the UI. It's godawful. If they can give me cable content through a fast UI on the Xbox, I'm sold.
I'm also really hoping for Kinect commands like "Xbox, switch to HBO" or "Xbox, switch to Comedy Central" and it can figure out the channel numbers for me and put me in the HD channel by default.
I do want games to be the core of what's shown, but I'm really excited for what they do with TV.
That toy in the top right expresses my feelings on this GIF.
Anyone think MS might go for a Western new ip RPG to replace Fable? Maybe a more modern setting

My first experience with Xbox 360 was at a special invite-only event by Microsoft Norway. This was roughly 1.5 month before the launch. Got to play PGR3 and PDZ.
The room was packed with Xbox 360 and these beauties:
Spill some beans!!!
PM GopherD to hint/tease something!
He won't say anything.
thuway has been silenced... etc
Samsung hot a huge boost from that. Alot of people bought that TV because of that. I think they also used those for the WalMart displays.
I guess thuway leaked everything he knows.
Making this post from my 360 while kicked back on the couch.
I'm surprised how fast IE is on here!
.
PGR 4 is great looking racer, never played it but it looks impressive from those screenies

Obligatory.
I've got such an anti-boner right now.
It really is. And PGR 4 still has the most impressive weather effects of any race game this generation.
These guys were wizards.
