3DS Streetpass Experiences

You know, every now and then I go to Nintendo of America campus and walk around, hoping that one day I'll get a street pass from Sakurai, Iwata, Miyamoto or fuck even Reggie. No luck so far.

haha, since we're on the subject, I was wondering if it's worth visiting the NOA campus for any reason? I heard they don't have tours but is there like a visitors' area or something? I ask because I'm going to Seattle for a couple days this summer and just trying to decide how to spend my time.

on a semi related note, any time I take my 3DS with me out in Seattle i get a ton of streetpasses

you probably shouldn't waste any time in Redmond

I don't think they have jackshit, although I haven't asked around. Apparently, there was a mini-museum and coffee shop in their old campus, but I never went to.

Hey I got a question, maybe one of you can help me:

yesterday me and my wife suddenly stopped streetpassing each other.

is there any limit to how many times you can streetpass each other?

if i had to estimate I would say that we passed about a thousand times (one year of passing, about three times a day).

sooooo... help?

Me and my gf have maxed out at 99 times. If you've stopped Street Passing all together, check to make sure someone isn't in DS mode. :) Took us a while to figure out that if one of us is playing a DS game, that the whole thing just doesn't work.

yeah the 99 passes thing we had since forever.
already checked if anyone of us had a game in the background that does prevents streetpass from working.

nothing.

but thanks for the reply!

There's a glitch that happens every so often that I've encountered which requires you to change your Mii's hat! Do that and it should kick start your streetpasses again.

I have been getting a decent number of passes recently. Fire Emblem and Monster Hunter seem to be leading a renaissance.

Those Mc Donalds thingies in Japan?

I've got so many unfinished puzzles...

I don't even buy pieces with coins anymore because the rate of return of new pieces to purchases is so horrible.
Tonight is StarTrek, I expect to get quite a few pink puzzle pieces today.

Going to Disney World with a friend in June and we are taking our 3DS with us on the trip. Would be cool to get some tags from different regions and maybe get some pink pieces as well. We have quite a few already but are missing quite a few on the new panels.

As far as hats go, I've unlocked quite a few but still need to do the Find Mii 2 secret quest a few more times before I have all of them. I always get my 10 play coins per day and have my friend's level 7 Mii along with a couple level 5 Mii's to go through things quicker. I find it fun saving up the week's coins until I get 10 on Sunday and using them all at once to play Find Mii 2 and use a few left for puzzle swap.

My friend honestly enjoys the social aspect more than any actual game he has for the system.

Dude Disney World is awesome for streetpassing. Really passes the time in line and there are so many people carrying 3DS-es.

This is what I've been playing recently:

SYSTEM SETTINGS

If I could, I'd hide Settings, eShop, SwapNote, Nintendo Video from appearing there. No-one cares about people using those, lemme see what they play.

Atleast Sony got it right as Vita lets you hide stuff.

I recently went on a trip to Berlin and I decided to bring my 3DS along. I live in the Netherlands and currently I hadn't really bothered taking the thing with me. Just play it at home mostly anyway.

It was a really cool experience though. I ran into about seven people during the four days I was there. I now have the Berlin and Brandenburg regions, while I do not have any regions from the Netherlands yet.

I got my first streetpass yesterday that didn't occur in the context of a trip/convention/airport/game store/etc. An honest actual streetpass due to randomly passing someone by. I was pretty shocked.

I hope you'll be taking it with you more from now on. I'm from the Netherlands too and usually get 1 or 2 streetpasses on my daily commute. If you really want a lot of streetpasses, come to Animecon in The Hague next week.

If you have a backpack its easy enough to stow the 3DS inside of it when you go for a walk. Just remember, getting a streetpass should be seen as a surprise, not an expectation.

I knew there was something I forgot to do when I came back from business in Berlin and this jogged my memory. So I'll say it if anyone goes to Berlin.

The Media Markt in the Alexa shopping centre (near Alexanderplatz) has (in April anyway) on the top floor 8 3DS consoles all with streetpass enabled and Streetpass Berlin have completed the seven, 15 piece non-spotpass puzzles on them (you can't do the spotpass puzzles without an SD card and the demo units have those either removed or stolen long ago). Not many people bother clearing the Mii queues from the plaza through (those machines get a lot of hits from each other) so its bad for Mii rating achievements (doesn't help when you rate yourself so-so trying to turbo through the queues) and oddly enough I could never get hits from all 8 machines in one go.

Don't bother with the nearby Saturn. They're the crappy official demo units with auto-booting games, no streetpass and no access to the system menu.

It should be noted those 15 piece puzzles are completable without streetpassing anyone and so its not worth specially making a trip to it.

I went in March and chose the Saturn. :/ At least I got Rhythm Thief and Star Fox for ~25€.

Edit: Berlin was okay, streetpass-wise.

In Japan, you can easily hit 5 million people in an inner city neighborhood, not so much up here.

Whoa, new puzzle for Dillon's Rolling Western.
Nice! Maybe more people will check out the game now.

But poo on me, I never took my Animal Crossing piece so when I saw your post I quickly loaded up Mii Plaza to try and grab it before it SpotPassed the Dillon panel and as I was scrolling through eight StreetPasses, that little blue light popped up, so I only got a Dillion piece.

No sweat though.

Damn, I was so close to being done with my puzzles. Now I'll never finish them. I'm going to have to make another trip to NYC Nintendo World Store in the future to pick up some pink pieces.
