Hannibal only pulled a 1.0 the other day, it's so cancelled
Too bad it had to be banished to NBC

It's not cancelled. Don't say that.

This is a show that is apparently pure profit, NBC isn't really paying for anything (financed under a different model according to ivysaur). Even if NBC canned it, someone else would take it. There's been interest from other networks.

There's hope.

There may be hope for you yet, if NBC cancels it apparently multiple cable channels are interested in picking it up.
Not to say it can't happen, but a lot of shows go through this, and it usually doesn't end up happening thanks to one reason or another.

I can only think of Southland and Cougar Town in the last few years.

Yep, nowadays every cancelled show floats some story on Deadline that it has interest from cable/Netflix but a revival almost never happens.

I really hope NBC renews Hannibal, though I'm starting to think they're just delaying announcing the cancellation to avoid depressing the ratings even further. Time will tell.

Trying not to read the thread to avoid spoilers, currently on episode 6 and my god it is utterly ridiculous, how has
Joey managed to recruit so many people from the FBI, the police... all of which conveniently get assigned to this case?

Absolutely ridiculous, not that I'd expect anything else from this show. :|

This just gets worse and worse...! Why would all of these people blindly follow a guy and commit all of these terrible crimes just because of a guy who's very slightly charismatic? I can possibly understand a few college groupies, but not the people involved now.

:) I've been recording Hannibal and intend to watch it... I saw the first episode and thought it was okay, being honest I find both shoes to be a little too violent, and massively depressing though

i'm on episode 11 and this is the most ridiculously stupid show I have ever seen. I can only guess that by the end of the season Kevin Bacon himself is a follower of Joe, and the show reveals itself as a meta-commentary on our society's obsession with famous murders. That might save it.

I can't stop watching this someone help me

It's a pretty great train wreck.

Decided to get back into it, and ehhh... fuck this show, just watched episode 14 where
Jacob dies
- pretty much the only
follower with any redeemable qualities
:(

I stopped watching this after a few episodes, so I'm not planning on making the thread for S2. If anyone is interested in putting that together, please do it. Thanks.

I'm looking forward to season 2 ha! I dread to think what it says about my taste that I enjoyed this show a whole hell of a lot more than I did Hannibal.

I know this is pretty late, but I'm just starting to watch this. On the second episode, how in the fuck did fat-cop pull some ninja shit on that guard who was watching Claire. lol

Oh just wait. It gets even better than that.

Also, if someone wants to put together a S2 thread, please do.

Maybe we should just keep using this thread. It doesn't deserve a new thread. I had sworn season 2 off but may just watch to see how awful it gets.

I'm actually really excited for tonight. I lost steam on the show as it was ending last season, but I'm pretty hyped to see where they take it.

I'm one of the assholes that actually finished season 1 as much as I hate this show...
and with the way the finale ended, IMMEDIATELY after I told my gf "there's no way they're gonna kill Joe in that explosion , without a doubt they're gonna cheese him out of that predicament through some bullshit hole in the ground or some magical fire resistant Edgar Allen Poe cloak" and lo and behold, who is apparently alive and well in the new trailers? Yep.

Smh.. It's a show that transcended so far into the realm of bad that it looped back around into "must watch" television, if only for its hilarious inconsistencies and plot holes and the Barnum and Bailey sideshow that is the FBI

I'm right there with you. It's actually one of the most enjoyable shows I watch simply because of how bad it is. I love a good hate watch and The Following never disappoints in that regard.

Tonight's episode is 90 minutes? Yeesh. Whether I watch it all or not is going to depend on how completely fucking ridiculous it gets. It started out fine, but the further along you get, the show requires more and more of a suspension of disbelief.

Did Joe proper show up in the premiere? I have no interest in watching this shitshow again but just wondering how long they keep the ruse
