its surely bollocks wishful thinking - just boosting everything by 50-100% isn't that easy

50% wider main memory bus, 50% more main ram, double the esram and double the bandwidth to it, over 50% more CUs?

Rumours were that the single chip was already big and having yield issues at 12CU and 32MB esram. 20CU and 64MB esram would be practically impossible to build right now

That is definitely the most believable of any of the spec leaks, could still be fake of course. What makes me say it's more believable is that it's fairly minor changes, so it's keeping with their existing architecture and therefore wouldn't take up too much additional time to implement, manufacture and validate. I almost instantly discount any rumor that has them changing the RAM type to GDDR5 for example.

For the event, I was thinking of the best way they could open it. I really hope it starts off by going black and it's completely quiet, then someone says "Xbox, On!" and all of the screens light up, Xbox boots and we see the boot animation.

I really hope you'll be able to start your Xbox with Kinect, and have it also send the start signal to your TV (to the correct input), receiver, etc. If they did that, I honestly wouldn't need to use a controller probably 70% of the time I use the Xbox (unless I'm gaming). Most days, I just turn the Xbox and TV on with the remote, and then only use voice commands from there. Hopefully they have much better voice commands, so from the main menu I can say like "Xbox play the next episode of Doctor Who", and it would know which app I used last time to watch Doctor Who, and the last episode I watched so it could put me right back into it. The current way takes a while since your voice just does basic menu control, so you still have to scroll through lists, select buttons, etc. Haters gonna hate, but the Kinect voice commands are easily worth it just to have a Kinect.

"Specs are the least of our worries at this point" - i.e., 720 having heating issues

The crap in the thread is going to the least of it's problems. I'm pretty sure the GAF servers will go into meltdown 1 minute before the event. I hope they are ready.

Oh they'll be dead instantly. I remember they didn't go back online after the PS4 conference for a few hours.
 
If the new spec rumours are true. Then it's going to sound like a jet aircraft taking off.

I know. It's really annoying. Especially as you can see a mountain of threads when you do finally get it. It makes you wonder how they got in whilst the rest waited.

Yeesh... I had such high hopes for Steel Batallion. Then I played the demo and it was god awful. Kinect 1 was just not able to play a game that required that level of accuracy. If they made it for Kinect 2, I would definitely try it again though since it's probably going to be way more accurate.

Xbox slim is pretty quite. I hope they think the same for the next console.
