Yea, I won't dwell on this too much longer, either, but even looking at COD4. There are things that game does to make it look amazing and exciting that goes way beyond just the level of the graphics tech present in the game. It's fun to watch and it's also fun to play. Halo 4, to me, looked extremely beautiful, one of the best looking games this generation as far as I'm concerned, but then it's also a game that I just love watching in action, and that I especially enjoy playing, much more so than a lot of other shooters. I just don't get those kinds of impressions with Killzone. I neither like watching it in action, nor do I enjoy playing those games. My impression of Killzone is pretty much exactly the same impression I had of the Resistance games.

I was one of those people who weren't really sold on the first Uncharted, but then Uncharted 2 came, and now it's one of my favorite games of the generation. It isn't enough for me for a game to be technically impressive. It has to strike me as a game that just gets my imagination running wild in all the right ways. A game has to make me really want to get my hands on it and play for myself. Killzone doesn't do that for me.

and this is exactly why I'm so curious to see what Respawn's game looks like.

I actually bought PGR4 today (for £3!) after not playing it for years and i have to say that the game looks amazing, even by todays standards.

For me one of the greatest developments of this gen are all the smaller downloadable titles. In light of that let's reminisce over great 360 XBLA games. I'll start with 'Splosion Man. I absolutely fell in love with this game. The fast and furious gameplay (link) reminded me of Sonic the Hedgehog. Also, 'Splosion Man's the sense of humor (link) during the game was great as well. And let's not forget 'Splosion Man featured the perhaps the greatest video game ending of all time (spoilers link).

I can't wait to play next gen smaller downloadable titles!

Just had a thought about the name of the thing. Counting the slim (yeah, I know. Bear with me...), this would be the fourth generation Xbox.

And you know what flows off the tongue quite nicely after 'Xbox 360'?...

Xbox 4.

Boom.

If you guys have any title in mind for the OT, feel free to share them please! :)

A digital only Halo MP release for launch is possible.

Halo MP at launch would probably help re-establish Halo in the online shooter space again, while also allowing Microsoft to highlight digital distribution moving forward.

There's been a Halo game every year for the past 5 years, why skip a year, why not use Halo's amazing art style and Scif look to showcase what your new hardware can do.
Ah alright.

Well, when we refer to that; I have always assumed that the past couple of years have been abnormal for Halo; Yes a new game came out every year, but it was just a consequence of timing. CEA is a once in a time thing (unless Halo 2 remake rumors are true, and even then that's a year away) which coincided with the games 10 year anniversary. Halo Wars was just Ensemble wanting to try their hands at an RTS Halo game.

Hell, even if you look at this chart things are seemingly starting to spread back out again.

Don't get me wrong though, I would absolutely kill for a new Halo game (Halo Wars 2 please), but I've just always seen it as an abnormal coincidence.

Yeah i dont get it, the vg leaks and EDGE info are more reliable then some random pastebin that anyone could of done.

its like some ppl want ppl to be disappointed!

Well dont do to yourself ppl the vgleaks and edge leaks have more credibility then this new random pastebin.

1.23TFLOP GPU
8gb DDR3
8 core jaguar

and hopefully awesome games WITH visually parity with most PS4 games

dont believe in this hype propaganda,

Believe in realistic hype.

I frankly don't understand the mindset which allows people to be convinced that rumors and unconfirmed "leaks" published by Kotaku, Edge, et. al., are worthy of belief, yet forget that Microsoft has never allowed a competitor's videogame console to outclass their system , in terms of power and/or capability. Why would Microsoft suddenly allow Sony a decided performance advantage in this new generation? The logical answer is that they haven't.

Werent there rumors of a Halo 2 remake for 360/720?

That would be....shit hot! If they took advantage of the graphics and the MP play was there, at least.

Still think Halo 2 was the series peak for MP

Uhh, Microsoft "allowed it" last gen.

I frankly don't understand the mindset which allows people to be convinced that rumors and unconfirmed "leaked" specifications, published by Kotaku, Edge, et. al. (and which are over a year old) are worthy of belief, yet forget that Microsoft has never allowed a competitor's videogame console to outclass their system , in terms of power and/or capability. I fully expect performance parity, if not a slight performance edge in favor of Microsoft.

I'd argue that The Last of Us looks more appealing than any PS4 game shown.

I agree 100%. Same goes for GTA V. Basically, next gen isn't getting a pass from me simply because the graphics tech is far more advanced. Games are going to have to work just as hard in other areas. You don't just make a pretty engine with some nice tech and think I'm going to eat it up. And I think most gamers feel that way, too, for the most part.
