Shadow Warrior Teaser Trailer (PC, PS4, Next Gen Xbox)

Hexen remake would be amazing, it doesn't get any attention these days :|

I'm propably the only person here that would rather see Heretic 2 sequel? Loved that game and it's fighting system evolved into something glorious in Jedi Outcast/Academy.

They should get the Blade Symphony guys to do it.

hard reset was just about the only mechanically compelling single player FPS i've played in recent years. looking forward to this, i just hope the thumbstick demographic doesn't leave too much of a mark on the final product.

kinda bummed that they didn't go for some throwback build engine aesthetic, too.

It's not really a '90s shooter, it's linear, has a modern checkpoint system, etc. It is somewhat more oldschool than most modern shooters, but some of the major design elements are modern.

90s shooters were linear as fuck though. But you're right about the checkpoints, that sucked.

Confucius say: man stuck in cupboard has ass in jam

This is my concern. There was no hint of blue, politically incorrect humor in that teaser, and that's a big part of what makes Shadow Warrior what it is, IMO.

Haaaa, that's really sad. You're not going to like gaming this upcoming gen very much given that the consoles will be using x86.

I don't think it's the mere fact of being available on a console that annoys him, it's more the fact that the original game was a fast paced fps (which do not work well on controllers), and since this game will be released simultaneously on all platforms, it's quite likely that its gameplay will be balanced with controllers in mind, ie. it'll be slowed down.

Looks intriguing, never played the original.

Graphics are ok I guess, doesn't look current gen at least.

edit ;nvm it looks like garbage graphically in the screenshots, I was looking at the trailer.

The original Shadow Warrior was great, albeit with Lo Wang talk turned off... High hopes for this one, especially as I loved Hard Reset!

itll probably be toned down, to keep the overly butthurt, offended 24/7, twitter mob away.

The first one generated a fair share of controversy too. Don't pretend that it was released in some golden age of no one taking offense to anything because LOL VIDEO GAMES.

Am on my phone, so I'm waiting for it to appear on YouTube.

Woah, you should rectify that. :p My favorite FPS ever. (Actually, I flip-flop between it and Duke.)

Meh. I think all those games from that area have one big problem: Interesting couple of levels at the beginning, forgettable after mission 3. Doom was the one exception.

This looks interesting, nice to finally see the 3D Realms logo on something. I'm glad they're still alive and hopefully this gets them back on their feet.

Disappointed given the build-up, the visuals/art just look bland and the teaser didn't feel much like Shadow Warrior. Hopefully it's better than Hard Reset at least, but it looks pretty terrible going by first impressions. At least the RoTT remake looks decent.

That teaser didn't give me any Shadow Warrior vibe at all. Way too serious and the character didn't seem to resemble Lo Wang at all.
I really hope this is going to be a throwback to the fps'es of yesteryear with open free levels without all this annoying scripting we have in all new fps games. The pictures look a bit on the corridor side unfortunately.
Wasn't Hard Reset a very linear game?

Further proof that 'modernizing' something isn't always a good thing.

Some of the best aspects of old games are the less evolved gameplay and graphics. It leaves more room to the imagination while providing a more interesting challenge. And that teaser didn't remind me of anything I liked about SW.

Though I'll say Hard Reset was a decent shooter, but I grew tired of it pretty quickly. Way too linear.

but these days, consoles are probably the lead platform and hence gamepad is the lead control method, which doesn't really work for fast-paced games without some ludicrous auto-aim.
See, PC is my primary platform these days but 90% of my PC gaming is done with a 360 pad.

I love mouse and keyboard but it just isn't easily compatible with gaming on a TV. If I could find a nice 27" OLED monitor I'd probably start using m/kb more often but as long as we're stuck with LCD on the desktop I really can't enjoy gaming at the desk.

Meh. I think all those games from that area have one big problem: Interesting couple of levels at the beginning, forgettable after mission 3. Doom was the one exception.

Now that you mention it, I do like Duke 3D's levels more. They have much more uniqueness and variety than Shadow Warrior's (and Doom's, too, IMO, though I didn't play more than the first two episodes).

SW shines in the weapon department, though. I hope they bring back the awesome sword which I would use, even though it sucked, simply because it was cool.

Awesome, thanks.
