Fallout 3 is the best Fallout made so far.... Come at me, bros.
I think this too. I definitely think you would have to have been there at the time of release to enjoy Fallout 1/2. I've tried playing them many times, and they are awful.
Sonic 3D Blast is the only classic Sonic game that deserves an HD Re-release.
Sonic 2006 should be remade and re-released with better gameplay, and should keep the Sonic x Elise plot.
.
I think every Zelda game since Wind Waker has been a bit boring, and I completely blame Eiji Aonuma for that. Eiji Aonuma is, in my opinion, overrated and underqualified to be Zelda's showrunner. His job belongs to Yoshiaki Koizumi.
I don't like Super Mario Galaxy 2 nearly as much as Super Mario Galaxy and think it, along with the past few New Super Mario Bros. games, were giant missteps for Nintendo.
Super Mario Land 3D is the best Mario platformer since Super Mario Galaxy and, outside of a return to hand-drawn 2D platformers, is the most sensible direction for the series to take.
My opinions of Shigeru Miyamoto are Rawkhawkian: he is an inestimably valuable, legendary creative force for Nintendo that unfortunately to me no longer seems to always know what's best for the Mario series. Zelda needs more of his influence.
I like Metroid II a bit more than Super Metroid.
I really enjoyed Metroid: Other M's story, acting, and gameplay. Best Metroid game since Prime and Fusion.
I think Retro Studios is overrated, the Prime sequels are overrated, Donkey Kong Country Returns is way overrated, and they have yet to prove they can make anything substantial without Nintendo looking over their shoulder.
Guitar Hero III is better than Guitar Hero II and the first Rock Band.
Sonic Heroes is a great game.
And that's it. I have the most controversial, unshared opinions on GAF.
Come at me, bros.

Hahaha. I respect your opinion, but man Heroes was the beginning of the "Fall" for me.
Let's fight with violence.
I knew that one would rile someone up, haha. I seriously don't get the hate for it, though.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is the best AC game in recent memory. Every other AC game since AC4 has been a reskin.
Hell yeah!
Hell freakin' yeah!

I dont like Mario. Nintendo sucks as well.
Halo ruined the FPS genre.
Yup. Fallout 1 is pretty good and I like it, but FO3 is still better.Fallout 3 is the best Fallout made so far.... Come at me, bros.
Metal Gear Solid 1 is crap and any fan of the series who likes it should feel bad.
-A lot of things that were functional and excellent in SA2 were problematic and disfunctional in Sonic Heroes (Light Dash/Spin Dash)
-Special Stages
1st person perspective is absolutely awful.
Ok here goes
Capcom has caused a decline in content for fighting games
They have shown that less is ok and made it popular
They have so many fans saying they revived the fgc when it was never dead and they left the scene for the longest time.
AAA games are killing quality be sequalizing shit
Yeah, I have to admit the light dash was, to put it lightly, frustratingly broken, and the special stages were way too hard compared to previous games. I could never collect all the emeralds with any of the characters.
I agree with this. I always felt totally handicapped in every First-Person game both visually, and control-wise. (one of the reasons I didn't get into Metroid Prime)
Matter infact, the only First Person game I really enjoyed when it came to what I could do outside of shooters was Maken X/Shao.
It's something comparable to life. I view things in first person, but my awareness and control of my actions are in third-person. First person games do a poor job of conveying that feeling. Not to mention most don't even have basic platforming elements. (Edge grabbing, rolling, quick evasive movements, etc) and I really can't feel it when I run. Other than that... god forbid if I have to go through a fist fight in First Person......
Rock Em Sock Em Robots.
I really don't understand why the genre became popular.
FMV was on Sega CD long before PS1.
JRPGs were hugely popular on SNES. FF3, Secret of Evermore, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, etc (US released titles alone.)
I let a lot of this slide, even agreed with some of it.
But DoA 5 and MK 9 being good games?
![]()
Your posts are so awesome and true, and yet.....you hate Yoshi's Island.![]()
Elaborate on that how exactly are MK9 and DOA 5 bad games? Your played out drunken sailor jpeg proves nothing, you need to flesh out your point. If there is a point to be made.
But back on the subject of Yoshi's Island. While I may not favor that game. I do however love Yoshi's Story. That game doesn't get enough recognition, I actually wish you could play as the Black and White Yoshis in SSB and do just as much damage.
Is Maken X like Atlus' other first person games (like the early SMT series) where hitting down makes you do a 180 turn? That's how I like the first person perspective.I agree with this. Shenmue while ground breaking at the time was boring as hell. It is more boring now than it was then. Yu Suzuki is a genius and visionary however Shenmue is his most boring work. Shenmue was great in its action fighting scenes they were sparse few & far between. S2 was way better but still suffered from a lack of action too bad that rumored VF arpg never became reality.
Yakaza series is far better because action is plentiful.
Also all God of War QTE haters seem to love Shenmue ironically the game coined the term & has an over abundance of quick time events.
Lost Odyssey is one of the worst JRPGs in recent years. Bad plot, boring characters, and gameplay that makes old Final Fantasy games look ground breaking. It has elements of greatness but is overall a pretty dull game.

The typical 3D first person shooter is just bizarre to control, when you think about it (and for me -- in practice, which is why I don't really like them unless they're truly exceptional games.) Full 3D turning and strafing is some strange ass scorpion dance shit. Nobody actually moves like that, and while there's a case for, "fiction doesn't need to be realistic", it's a cognitive burden because of how the first person perspective attempts some sort of realism yet movement is nothing like our movement, if that makes sense.

My man (or woman, whichever)!
The problem with that statement is that despite the JRPG presence on SNES, it fully hit its stride on the PS1. And for real? Earthbound?..... Let's be real. Earthbound was a great game, but no one knew who the fuck Ness was until Smash Bros. happened. If Earthbound did well enough during the SNES era, we would've had Mother 3 and possibly a Mother 4.
andthe majorityall of Sega CD games were garbage. I explained earlier why FMV's where stronger on the PS1. They simply had a greater audience.
What's your favorite Sega CD game? Honestly.
Atlus doesn't really have anything else that plays like Maken X I believe (it's an action game right?), only talking about the first person movement in their first person dungeon crawlers in this case.If I can recall properly they did have this awesome command in which you could do a high jump over an enemy and face the other direction. And please recommend those other games to me, I really like the gameplay and Maken X and would love to give those a try.

If you're still interested, there's Soul Hackers that came out recently on the 3DS.
If you honestly think the sega cd has no good games you are misinformed. Furthermore, sega cd definitely popularized fmv, to the point it was a detriment to the platform.
Max Payne 3 is a worthy continuation of the series.

One of my favourite first person genres is the first person melee/beat em upChronicles Of Riddick, Dead Island, Dead Island Riptide, Condemned 1 and 2, Zeno Clash 1 and 2 and Breakdown. Love them all. There's just a feeling from playing a game in first person that you don't get from a third person game. It's more intense, you get in that character viewpoint and perspective (even if it's not exactly representative of a real persons view, I don't really care about that), If they get the feedback right nothing beats it.
I've nothing against the third person viewpoint but I've always preferred first person myself. Just a personal opinion of course![]()
lol See that's why me and you clash when it comes to Lost Planet!!!
lmao I can respect your opinion, for me as a person who grew up on arcade and action games where combat must be well detailed. I'm more of a mechanics man than a visual man.
lol it reminds me of how shocked my friends get when I reveal that there are actually Western games I do like, ie. Mass Effect and Battlefield.
Gonna seem weird to say but, I wish certain genres could be more creative. Like a Madden game with a mode where you have to avoid dinosaurs or something. Hell make Call Of Duty: Ghosts a Call of Duty where you fight ghosts. I dunno...
This is the best idea I've ever heard.
I mean it.
