now tell me how u really feel :(

Indifferent. I don't own any stocks.

Although I may seem hard to believe, my first present gen console was X360. I still have fond memories of it (I missed Halo and Gears the most on PS3). I'm still quite interested in X720 and if Microsoft shows something good tomorrow (more interesting than PS4), X720 will be my first next gen console.

I guess the deciding factor for me is Live availability. I don't feel like using VPN and fake address like I did with X360. FLOPS and hardware power comes second.

My Nintendo News Makes Headline Something That isn't Actually Said in the Article (Or the One it Links To)

What I’m thinking is that it’s better suited towards the casual market, certainly, but we also are pretty clear that we could have done a better job on the titles we’ve had and we’ve brought to market for the PlayStation Move. As you’ve said, great tech, probably not so great applications so far. So there’s a job for us to do on the strength of games, and having seen what’s forthcoming gives me great hope that we can do a better job with Move as we look forward. So we’re certainly not forgetting about it.

naa isnt hard n the mid of this gen ..i used more the ps3 than the xbox...at the start and the end....the opposite...

i think true gamers need to have both consoles and pc..and :D well everything that have games!

you guys think that the voice recognition will work on cloud ala "siri"?

Possibly, MS has very good cloud computing capabilities as far as I know. Voice and gesture recognition is something that could be amazing, but it depends entirely on how well the hardware/software works.

Rmember when touchscreens were laughed at when compared to buttons, and eventually with time and refinement it's become the standard. I think Kinect could be on the same lines. Time will tell I guess.

Bloomberg article. Posted?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-...-xbox-as-apple-to-facebook-gain-in-games.html

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) is revamping the Xbox to fend off a breed of competitors ranging from Apple Inc. (AAPL) to Facebook Inc. Those companies were nowhere in gaming when the software maker debuted its last version five years ago.

The new gadget will use the Kinect sensor to recognize faces and recommend content based on a user’s interests, people with knowledge of the matter said. Due in stores by year’s end, the latest Xbox will also feature Advanced Micro Devices Inc. chips designed to make it easier for developers to create games, people said in April.

Microsoft is also in talks with cable operators, including Time Warner Cable Inc., to have the Xbox replace the set-top box in living rooms, delivering some content over the Web instead of through traditional cable pipes, said Richard Doherty, president of technology-consulting firm Envisioneering Group Inc. The discussions are ongoing, he said.

“They might not even use the phrase game console this time around because they’re trying to pitch it as this incredible entertainment hub in the home,” he said.

Representatives of Microsoft and New York-based Time Warner Cable declined to comment.

Associated Press also put up an article today, but it's slightly older so I guess it might have been posted already. Had the quote from Activision about CoD: Ghosts being on stage tomorrow to show what next-gen is capable of, so maybe that adds to the speculation that CoD will use a 'next gen first' engine this time.

I'd love to own both. Money isn't the problem, however, free time is.

BRAVO THAT MAN

I do think DLC will become bigger next gen, instead of map packs we will get full blown expansion packs.

Skyrim expansions was DLC right?

Thease are separate games but still smaller than the main game, and the main game is almost required to enjoy.
Alan Wake American Nightmare?
Infamous Festival Of Blood?

What do you define as DLC? Games/Expansions that download online?

Luckily for us, Microsoft had such amazing and successful products such as:

- Kin
- Zune
- Windows Phone
- Windows Vista
- Windows 8 (try selling those without preinstalling them)
- Surface

That were all amazing sellers and extremely well accepted among consumers. Redmond truly is flawless.

PS3, in the end was a great success for Sony, Vita, I agree, sucks. Xperia Z was a big success and currently Sony's mobile division is very profitable (the most profitable branch of the company IIRC standing in 3rd place in global shipments after Apple and Samsung).

You know, I understand that you are a Microsoft fan, but you should check your facts.

Stop shitting up this thread.

Honestly what a twat.

I'm speculating live features such as automatic recording, social sharing, rendering and similar will be built into a new version of the console/LIVE freeing developers from having to in-engine develop those features over and over.

As for new features I'd like to see:

1. A new platinum service where you can do BF3 style player/regional hosted servers. I'd prefer if you'd have to have two consoles to accomplish this or not play on yours for example.

2. A certification process for official host or regional host or host lists etc. Like a two week test of a player owned console/connection to really spread some wings or further point 1 above.

3. Allowing community modded content into LIVE/matchmaking games.

4. A live or slight delay spectator style system.

5. In game tournaments for money including prize pools, entry fees, brackets, results, streaming, awards, advertising/sponsors, avatar badges and all that just linked right into one awesome console/LIVE system that can handle online and LAN based play all the same.

I like your list, however, hosted servers and community modded content are not going to happen. Numbers 4 and 5 are very likely.

Stop shitting up this thread.

I stopped shitting (although it was a provoked reaction). How about you stop insulting me?

No but seems bloomberg just recap old rumors/speculation at last moment
Let's see how will it goes

Instead of say 3 map packs for Cod, there will be like ODST style expansions, with new modes, and new campaigns. It's already done in BF but I expect more of it.

Not sure if we talked about this, but how big of a HDD do you guys think we'll be getting? Do you think we'll just get one sku at launch or things like premium and elite bundles?

OT-thread needs a post of all the crazy rumors so we can compare it with the real details

Seconded.

Cheers, if it was a premium paid service hosted servers could be designed seamlessly right along PVP console hosts. I agree MS isn't going to allow community modded content though, one can dream.

I hope they don't actually do that 'Kinect watches you all the time' thing. Or that if they do you can turn it off.

I've still got a Premium with a 20GB HDD, hahaha.

Can you tell me what sort of reaction you expected from saying stuff like that in this thread?

Most of it isn't even relevant to the discussion.

Windows 8 has had as much impact on Xbox 360 as Xperia phones have on PS3. It's fanboy point scoring bullshit. Are you 12?

500GB rumored.

Someone 'in the know' once said it's not quite a SSD, but almost, or something to that extent. It's something 'different' we couldn't guess.

Whatever it means.

Some kind of fusion drive, yeah. Not sure if that would be too expensive though.

“They might not even use the phrase game console this time around because they’re trying to pitch it as this incredible entertainment hub in the home,” he said

gaf gonna love that...

But even the Bloomberg's, NYT, Forbes coming up with precious little against MS so-far airtight leak defenses on the final monday

A big hard drive is an investment for Microsoft, they want consumers to have enough free space to spend more money without a second thought. 500GB is surely the minimum, anything less would considered the "tard pack"... hmm, that's a much more offensive term these days!

Has any one else thought of other possible services like Home Automation? Since it would be "capable" of being always on via low power mode, maybe we'll all have a "J.A.R.V.I.S" of sorts. Ask it to turn on/off/dim the lights, ask for the weather etc...

There is no need to insult him. Calm down its just a forum post.

maybe, but posting inflamatory fanboy list warz that aren't even relevant to the discussion is annoying.

Who in the hell cares whether Xperia phones are selling better now or that Microsoft didn't set the world alight with Zune?

This thread is about the Xbox reveal. People can keep their salt out.

I can assumed that it will be SSD+HDD. SDD will keep swap data, when HDD will store other data. For example when you start game, it load itself to SDD, for faster access. Or when it send to background, for multitasking purpose, for later fast resume.
