Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| We Need To Go Cheaper

Guys what is the best deal for Tales of Abyss 3ds? Preferably one that will ship to Sweden

It's pretty much the same price in both Sweden and UK. You'll find it for like 30 SEK cheaper on Amazon. Up to you if it's worth waiting like two more weeks to save 30 SEK.

22.99GBP Amazon UK
22.85GBP Shopto

Oh, what? That's strange. I searched for it on Amazon and it came up for £27.80, but when I clicked it it changed to £22.99. Weird. Amazon is quite a bit cheaper then.

Good news everyone, Zavvi offers to preorder the new Xbox for the measly sum of £399.

(Yeah, I know it's the usual place holder pulled out of their ass)

Based on its underwhelming showing I'd rather throw that money into a new PC. Judging by the size, the form factor would be pretty close too. Thing is real ugly. And now we have a fee for online AND used games lol! No wonder Sony's stock went up.

Poor showing from xbox.. and fee to play used games LOL.... not my cup of tea!!!

Used games are priced spectacularly bad anyway - so it is not really that big of a deal. Game/HMV/Blockbuster have used games sometimes priced higher than those you'd see online selling new.

I'd guess trade-in value will take a hit, but many places were already offering terrible value on trade ins to begin with.

Xbox One games will still see price drops when companies need to make room to get new stock in their warehouse. Companies like Ubi will continue to overship their games - resulting in price drops after a few weeks. Most new games will still drop in price after release once overshipping happens. Cheap games will still be available if you buy new. Nothing yesterday will have changed that.

Rentals are the only thing that I think will be hit big (based on current news)

Think about what will happen in 5-10 years from now on.

For example I just bought Gabriel Knight Mysteries Limited Edition on eBay. Would I even be able to play it anymore? Even if that's the case, would I have to buy it from Microsoft as well, because it's a used copy? What happens if the publisher dies inbetween? And what happens if the publisher just doesn't give a s*it anymore (this is the case for the current owner of the Gabriel Knight IP - Activision). Sure Gabriel Knight is at least available from gog (now, it took quite a while), but only the English version and the soundtrack for example - which is included in the LE - would be lost already.

I can still buy NES/SNES games on eBay. In fact every single game can be and is sold. When this whole stuff gets locked, all sorts of games will go the way of the dodo. Some games were not released on Virtual Console just because of rights issues.

GAME are also doing their £20 deposit to be put on the pre-order queue thing again.

So are Blockbuster for £20+£4.95 delivery. Are Blockbuster even going to exist when the system releases?

I personally am not thinking that far ahead - which will bite me in the ass probably. Thinking like that, I could see another THQ happening (a big publisher dying) and a game like Metro 2033 or Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt becoming unplayable - which would be terrible

However, for people looking to get a game for half the RRP a few months after release - that will not change based on what happened today.

Would not touch that with a giant stick - seems a good way to lose £25 as they will likely die quickly when the time comes, and that money will just get swallowed up.

it is a big loss... at the end of th day. i buy alot of preowned.. you think i would pay 40 again just so it can be used on my xbox ? no chance.. xbox will drop like a bomb

True, but people that buy it actually support this longterm effect. If (almost) noone will buy it, it will bomb and they won't try it again.

Microsoft and the publishers don't really care about the games and their preservation. They only care about money.

Indeed. I think Xbox is going to be third placed for the second generation in a row.

So far, from what I've gathered:

- Looks like an 80s Video Recorder
- Forced Kinnect
- Always on (not technically, but Phil Harrison confirmed that it will need to phone home once every 24 hours to “grant permission” to play your local games)
- Serial numbers on every game
- If your friend wants to borrow your game he has to pay a full price transaction (Again, confirmed by Phil Harrison last night)
- Controller looks shockingly awful
- Less powerful than PS4

Not the thread for it, but quite a bit of this is wrong/personal opinion. I really like the box/controller; the rest is moot until we see games/discover whether Sony is following suit (which I'm fairly sure they will).

Does anyone know if you can find older Pokemon games for GBA and DS anywhere still? For a reasonable price... mainly looking for Fire Red/Leaf Green and the Silver/Gold remakes.

Re: no used games, yeah, I'm totally against it because of principles but practically, these past years, all the price drops have made buying second hand irrelevant.

New Game Deal

Buy Selected Game, get God of War Accession for £10

  • Assassin's Creed III is £17.99
  • Far Cry 3 is £19.99
  • Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is £17.99
  • WWE 13 is £14.99
  • Dead Island: Riptide is £22.99

Assassins Creed III + God of War Accession for £28 does not seem too bad
WWE 13 is not too bad either - but that franchise is in the shitter
Is Ascension shaping up to be the bomba of the year so far? I had high hopes for GoW Judgment but this one is really dropping.

I do not see what you gain from buying "a lot" of Preowned this gen (360 /PS3 / Wii). I can see some instances where it helps, but the used market constantly seems horrible from my point of view.

Yep. Never understood the fascination, either. GAME and their ilk are the only ones making money from it.

i often like to unload older games, despite how little you make, either via ebay (very occasionally) or game (fairly often) as a bulk trade softens the blow of a new title, especially a big limited edition release. without that opportunity i'll just have to buy fewer games, which at my age is no big issue (less time to play them, money goes elsewhere etc.)

second time in a row? 360 sold more consoles than ps3 did...?

just a question, but does ascension run in 1080p? (i mean if you can select it in the menu to get it from the ps3, killzone 2 did it, but killzone 3 does not give out 1080p) also does it offer multi-language in the uk-version?

Has anyone tried redeeming the GAME download codes for Wii U and 3DS outside the UK?

Do I need to change my country settings or is it hassle free?

I think somebody tried on a German 3DS when the service went live and had no problem. Could be talking out of my ass though, but anyway I'm interested too in a solid response.

Just got my Flubit DKCR3D (came from base.com) and if I can get my friends Fire Emblem Club ~Nintendo code like he said I could then I'll have enough games for the promotion.
Hope Flubit also pull through on my Project X Zone preorder.

Any of you europeans going to grab the Survival Edition of TLOU? If yes where are you getting it. PlayAsia put it up on their site months ago but you still can't pre-order, I'm starting to wonder if they will actually carry it.
Amazon.com doesn't ship to Europe and Gamestop doesn't accept paypal and also isn't accepting my CC.
Any other options?
I guess I'll just have to grab the Ellie or Joel edition and grab the artbook separately. Damn, that survival edition is such a good deal.

This might be of interest:
Project Zeron 2 (Wii) £11.85 Amazon UK

If the price does fall again and it is another automated price drop*, the price will become £10.70 (but don't a let £1.15 if put you off buying). Also, I don't think the game never came out in America so there may be potential re-sell value to that market (it is known better as Fatal Frame 2 over there).

*-I checked the last few drops on camelcamelcamel, part few days have been dropping to 90.1% of previous. Its been nearly a day since the last drop so it might not drop again. I believe the automated price drops are some sort of stock clearance system (when enough stock is cleared price rises to near RRP).

Mine just came as well, also from base.com at the bargain price of £22.94!

Feeling a little more secure with Flubit now that my first preorder is out of the way and it even came a day early which is one of the things that usually has me leaning towards shopto

Is AssCreed 3 worth 15 quids? Loved 2 and the following iterations, but heard so many bad things about 3.

As well for Resi 6, would you recommend it for the low price?

Already up to £14.42 :(

I'd say it's worth £15, I bought it day 1 for full price and I fell I got my money out of it, it drags a bit at the begining and the setting is not as good as previous iterations but the Naval sections were amazing!

Lots of content for £15

Talking about AssCreed 3, not got round to playing resi 6 yet.
