Were there even any decent leaks prior to the PS4 conference?
Besides, after Orthgate they probably stepped up security quite a bit.
Controller, share button, specs (PS4)...

I think people underestimate the progress Microsoft made this gen.
Even with RROD they effectively tripled(or more) their market share in a single generation.
Thanks a lot, looks like it should work.
Where are the stream links?
The last time I checked the final standings of our most recent generation, the console with the weakest 1st party support and what was considered the strongest third party support, currently stands in last place.
This too, holds for handhelds.
I just recall leaked images and mock ups of the 360 being out there before the reveal. Probably nothing for the PS4 as there was no final hardware yet I suppose. Other than the controller.

I guess in that case we had some rumored specs and of course the online required for 720.Controller, share button, specs (PS4)...
So it seems ambiguous as to whether the PS3 did overtake the 360, one point of note however, is that the 360 has had an extra year on market. I think we can claim without dispute that the Xbox 360 has been outpaced with the PS3.
Then there's also the matter of the Wii and DS, with powerful first party support it stands above the others.

Companion scenarios rely on a Wi-Fi connection with low latency and reliably high bandwidth between the console and the Companion devices, which connects over a Wi-Fi access point by default. The data stream to and from the console is encrypted.
The user will be prompted to connect directly to the console over peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, if network conditions arent favorable through the access point. For the most accurate simulation of the consumer experience, do not attempt to connect in infrastructure mode if your access point is several rooms away, or if you are in a setting with high levels of Wi-Fi traffic.

According to VG Chartz it is...but barely...Keep in mind though MS has a commanding lead in North America.

.
Only the dev controller.
There were no 'real' leaks per se, and everything else was taken from rumors.

The controller was not real?

It was a dev prototype, it wasn't the actual dualshock 4.

Oh c'mon Takuya that developer controller effectively leaked the camera controller integration and the share button.
Worldwide, not America. America is the largest demographic and MS has it secured.
Right, I fail to see your point?
How about that fantastic Gamecube first party support!

Depends on what's shown and most of all, depends on the whole 'online requirement' deal. If it's revealed that it requires a constant connection or even just a connection to "authenticate" a game, a lot of stomachs (including mine) will drop.I'm predicting a lot of people will be severely disappointing. MS next-gen machine won't be as powerful as the PS4. The only way they can beat Sony on the reveal is by showing amazing games, which by the announcement that I saw in an earlier thread, won't happen till E3.

Am I the only one who actually likes the name Xbox Infinity. Kind of hoping that is final.

Nintendo, have the American market 'secured', for the record. Also, I have to ask, are you saying the U.S market is more important than the Worldwide market?

It did not leak the share button. Nobody knew what those buttons were for. They didn't have markings. People theorized them being the share button, but then, what's the other button for? All from rumors.

It was still the controller.
That was a pretty big leak, even with the Wii U months before E3 2011 we were getting details about it's controller and some games.

I don't know that it really has anything to do with anything for tomorrow though. We know Microsoft is showing at least one first party franchise and they will be showing many more at E3 as well.
Gee whiz, NOW I know where this is going.
The PS2's exclusive content dominated the Gamecube?
Wait do we? I've been going by the Edge article.
We've been getting information about the next Xbox as well, people choose to dismiss them or believe them, but it's still information.
And it wasn't 'the' controller, it was 'a' controller. A dev prototype.

According to Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg stated on the Major Nelson podcast, the Xbox reveal will take place in two parts. The first, taking place tomorrow, will highlight the console itself. The second will happen at E3 and focus primarily on the games that will be coming to the new console.
As CVG transcribed, he said, The best way I can describe it is, were really gong to tell one story across two events. So were going to start on the 21st [of May] and really thats about revealing the next Xbox platform and our vision for the future of games, the future of entertainment.
Greenberg promised a behind the scenes look into the development of the new console, but couldnt guarantee any games to be shown. However, he added that the E3 presentation will involve tons of exclusives.
