Check my Xbox profile if you want to see the time I've put into the former as opposed to the latter. I've spent this whole generation a huge 360 fan, but I really don't think I can be blamed for having zero faith in Microsoft any more.

I don't put faith in any corporation, every consumer is somewhere for the ride, not to be catered to. I loved the 360 this entire gen, except for the abysmal hardware failure rates. I don't care if they make Kinect games, I don't care if they get Usher to dance for 5 minutes.

I was able to play and collect a wide array of software for the 360 in the past 7 1/2 years, I don't measure my enjoyment based on how many first party titles Microsoft can fart out. I've always had something to play and talk about. The fact that people can also gyrate and play broken ass Star Wars minigames doesn't impede on my enjoyment.

Going to bed. Am excited for tomorrow but not for their time choice. 1PM is right in the middle of the damn day. Oh well. Will have to follow along.

Good news...I saw a dog today.

The PS2's THIRD PARTY exclusive content dominated the Gamecube.

Exactly. Third Party exclusives, while I doubt Microsoft will truly have any of these monstrous third party titles as exclusives, can be real game changers when the titles are right.

He's gone to sleep! Operation teepee the PS4 side of the forum commence! :P

Do you know what's the worst thing about it? even if the reveal is positive, that people will be here with their negative sh!t.

Yeah, I'm really tired of all this "kinect", "1.2gf", "social and apps", "allways online" things.

yep they won't shut up when proven wrong they will just pull more "arguments" out of their ass

I'd love it if the take a similar route Sony did with their unveiling, I thought they had a strong showing with a clear focus on gamers. E3 is right around the corner so I don't care if MS show the hardware here or not, but I think we'll see it. I'd be super happy if they touch on specs and system features and sprinkle some games and tech demos into the mix.

Uhh, thanks for sharing? This is a valuable contribution to the XBOX thread
I was responding to a conversation that was already taking place. Discussing Sony's reveal strategy and comparing it to Microsoft's reveal strategy seems totally fair game to me.

Okay, my hype just reached a new level because of how close the event is. I have tomorrow off and I'm super excited for it!

14 hours seems like forever.

So seeing as it's going to be on at 3am in Australia I am trying to organize myself to be able to watch this. What would the best option for me be the live event player through the 360 or the gametrailers app through the 360? I would love the watch pre show and post show as well, and am unsure whether the live event player has year shows.

A-MEN! Well said!

Yep, this is a general rule for gaming. PS3 and Wii both have had plenty of shovelware tied to their motion controllers as well, it isn't exactly the fault of the console manufacturer.

Not like Kinect will ever become the only method of control, if some people enjoy using it in certain games, it doesn't really harm those who play those games without it.

Poor first party titles don't matter much unless they are the only offerings.

Am ready. All I can think of as to why they couldn't go with an evening reveal would be getting an evening slot with Spike.

The only way they could pull that off is with backwards compatibility. Otherwise it could lead to some serious confusion.

No commercials.

That's what I thought. I think that they are quite smart to show the best selling IP's of the current generation (CoD, FIFA) on the reveal, that will get a lot of people excited for the product. I wish that they would show a glimpse of NBA 2k14 or the newest Fight Night.

last minute predictions:

- ~1.2 tflops
- 8gb ddr3
- 299 all in
- 199 subscription model
- early november launch
- knect packed in for all systems
- windows 8 controlled via kinect/controller (i'm also hopeful for this)
- mobile xbox-live clients
- the name will be simply 'xbox'.

hopeful for:

- 1.8 tflops
- 8gb gddr5
- 399 all in
- standard, baton style, motion controller

No way for the first one on price and we would be lucky for the second price with the firsts specs. At RRP They sell the current 360 for $299 with two games and no Kinect, with no games and just a Kinect $299. They aren't going to release new hardware for around the same price as their current box that has cost them millions to develop and pack in a new Kinect version.

We might get some upgraded specs, but I'd rather go in not hoping for it and be surprised than let down hoping for more than they offer.

I know we have ideas about the levels Microsoft goes through to keep leaks from happening...but I have to say, I'm VERY impressed we are less than 24hrs out and there is NOTHING out there.....amazing. Much respect to everyone involved as well as media/devs/regular people that know who have kept to themselves.

I guess this was posted already:

So there will be Hands-On after event. Good news.

Correct at least 2 shows will have hands on.
Dem Kiosks.

Pretty much this. I buy games not developers. I don't care if the game is made by 2 shrews, a prostitute and 6 south american drug runners. If its a good game. I get it.

Then again I almost always buy all the systems because...games.
