EA lying now?

WTF...

Well, it really was never formally announced for PS4, only 'reportedly confirmed' by an EA representative.

That said, his second sentence about 'not need to worry about that' was unnecessary.

Via PGR5 thread, BADNED just potentially dropped a bomb:

Hence the name ;)

The good thing another winter filled with racing dreams is awaiting us! GT6 was just the beginning! The other candidates will take off their covers soon.

Potentially both Forza and PGR 5 ahead of us this year?

its almost time

for microsoft to reveal

the legend of mario: halo

You can tell they are nervous about the amount of time they've devoted to games in this thing by the "wait for E3" messaging they are already throwing out there. Still it feels like people are expecting a Sony style presser so I think there will be a lot of disappointed people this time tomorrow.

But GAF will always be disappointed.

This could push me to get an xbox over ps4 if true. Goddamn, that would be insanity.

Are we getting Name, Console and Controller? Doubt a price or date.

Name, Controller, Get to see kinect, and I reckon a box reveal too. There's not much wow generally to a console box, i think MS will try to go for the jugular surprise wise in other ways come E3.

Microsoft isn't (that) stupid. They only need one blockbuster first party racer, just like Sony only needs Drive Club.

It'll be DC vs. PGR5 this year, GT6-PS4 or GT7 vs. Forza 5 next year.

I know, right? Is he fertilizing Kaz and giving birth to Reggie, or eating Kaz and shitting out Reggie?

Well, in the games he eats a random guy and craps out an egg, right? So I have to imagine Reggie's head is a Kaz egg. Or are the eggs in the games Yoshi eggs, which would mean Yoshi is fertilized by eating people (well, "people" is probably a misnomer when they're mushrooms and stuff) and then he gives birth to a Yoshi baby?

Come to think of it, the logic of Yoshi's birthing process seems compromised on a fundamental level, but I'm clearly not up on my Yoshi biology. We probably need an expert.

Forza V would be more advantageous to drop this year, if its one or the other. Next gen sim racer uncontested in europe would be a very strong move for MS. Drive Club is a new IP, so one could assume that its sales results probably won't be seriously challenging to MS until a potential second installment, based off the assumption that a new ip arcade racer will do "okay" at retail, but not megatons of sales, which I think is a fair enough assumption.

Then again, drop both of them, and you could cover both sides of the racing market easily, and likely not really see any sales cannibalisation; I think the crowd getting sim racers would differ from that of the crowd getting PGR5, with minimal overlap. Or, yes, send PGR5 off to be the spring sales chaser. Forza is definitely the stronger candidate to move boxes though, if it does get released before GT7, with more brand awareness, etc etc. Would basically shift units itself. PGR5, not as easily, I don't think.

Sudeki 2 or they can fuck off!

I guess I could live with a sequel to Whacked! but that's it, they need to go back to their glory days!

Going to try and get out of work early to watch this. Do you think the stream quality on xbox will be any good?

Never streamed anything on it before.

Yeah it's good. They seem to have improved it if the quality of the CoD world championships they were streaming live a few weeks back were any indication.

Well here's my reasoning:

MS and Sony can only make so many console units for this holiday season, and supplies will be constrained as they always are with new systems, at least until January or so. If they set their stronger car IP as a launch release (Forza/GT) then they're going to waste some of that selling power potential because people will buy up the systems regardless.

They will no doubt work hard to ensure that both of the titles for the launch are quality, while having to deal with branding issues for each: DC as you said is a new IP, so they'll need to get people familiar with it, while PGR has been dormant form any years and needs a reintroduction. This way, they'll both have racing games showcasing the prowess of the systems, while letting the giants rest until supply and demand even out and they need a big push to capture more marketshare, which is where GT and Forza come into play, because neither needs an introduction at this point.

I guess we're mostly in agreement (b^_^)b

Would like to know that too, have streamed several movies on 360 though and it was mostly a very good experience, but live stream is another beast I guess.
