:lol Seriously, why is Sony losing all of these exclusives? That's a loaded question, and everyone knows what kind of bullets it uses.
MIND BULLETS!

That's telekinesis, Kyle.

I guess Jonnyram murdered topix possibly may had some credibility. Also MGS4 is already a given, and knowing SE franchise whoring ass, will probably see FF13+ "Jump In"

Doesn't this mean johnny ram's topic might be right? Is this just the calm before the storm?

Wow as if this wasnt big enough...

Japan, March 19, 2007-In respone to the suprise turn of events in which Capcom announced that Devil May Cry 4 will not only be going to Sony's PlayStation 3 but also Microsoft's Xbox 360 and PC, Capcom made a second suprise announcement.

Capcom Co., Ltd., a world-wide leader in the gaming industry, has also announced that it will release a collection of the first three Devil May Cry games on Xbox 360 entitled Devil May Cry Trilogy: Definitive Editon. Each game will be revamped to update the graphics up to the standards of the Xbox 360. Each new version will also include new material such as additional selectable characters, harder difficulty selections, and other bonus material. Online play is not confirmed, but is being considered.

"We chose to do this to to give our Xbox players who have never played a previous Devil May Cry game an oppurtunity to do so, as we here at Capcom wish to give our games the greatest reach possible", says Mr. Haruhiro Tsujimoto, vice president and COO of Capcom. "This release will allow those who have never before experienced this series to get a taste of it before the fourth release comes out."

The only release date set for Devil May Cry Trilogy: Definitive Edition is TBA, but Capcom has said that the game will be released before Devil May Cry 4.

Capcom will continue to strive to develop new and original games that appeal to a broad audience around the globe.

Lots of crow being eaten right now. I remember the first DMC4 trailer and how people were saying the game couldn't run on the 360. The "lol xbox 1.5 can't do this game," theory has been trampled yet again.

MGS isn't neither a system driver. FF is, but not Metal Gear. It's just fanboys meal.

Are you mad? MGS2 is was a huge huge factor for the PS2 and it sold a shitload of systems. I'm sure MGS4 will be the same.

If this game fails to live up to expectations or isn't a graphical powerhouse, it shall be blamed on porting it to the 360. Mark my words.

If anything is upsetting PS3 owners, is that one more game has gone multi-platform, it's just one more reason they may have spent more money than they needed.

Like I've said from the beginning: you can take your DMC4, your GTA, your VF5, and even your MGS4 any freaking day. I will buy the system that has FFXIII.

If FFXIII is multi-platform then I will have a harder decision to make.
same here, which is why I'll only buy a ps3 after FXIII is released

I don't see how this isn't a big deal, though. Right now, Sony is having a tough time convincing people they should spend $600 on their console. Yeah, "3rd party support" in general isn't the selling point it was in the past, but there are certain titles that can have a rather large affect on things, and DMC4 was one of them. And its not even the fact that DMC4 is going to the 360. I think even the most hardened PS3 fanboy probably knew it would happen, but rather months after the PS3 version, or even a year later like the PS2 version of RE4. The fact that its releasing at the same time is a huge coup for 360 and a huge blow to Sony.
Nevermind the fact that those who actually ponied up the $600+ (like myself) for the system makes that purchase a bit less appealing. Of course this could just be like the RE deal with Nintendo and this is the only big exclusive Sony loses. If this is however a trend then Sony either needs more reasons for users to pick up a PS3 or drop the damn price.

I'm in the same boat here, people's over reactions are funny but really, there is no reason for this thread to cause grief to anyone.
The writing has been on the wall for DMC4 ever since Capcom announced their decision to focus on mutiplatform.

People, they have ONE engine, that is PC based then tweaked to work on 360 and PS3.

Just so I can make a boxart lol.

There really is no was that even the most hardcore sony fan can spin this as anything other than the first real nail in the coffin.
I do like my bluray player and all , but Sony has seriously misjudged things and there really will not be a come back.
The only thing that Sony had to sell consoles were the DMCs, MGS4s, and Final Fantasies.
I love Ratchet and Clank, I love Resistance, I am sure the Naughty Dog game will be nice and all but they will not sell systems.
Home and LBP are nice but they will not sell systems.
It is a vicious circle where Sony is losing exclusives because they do not have the systems in homes and you will not sell systems without the exclusives.
The fact that DMC is coming out day and date with the PS3 version is a major slap in Sony's face even worse than the VF5 commercial listing that it is coming to the 360 later.
Sorry Sony, your fans gave you as much rope as we could as a life line and you went and hung yourself with it.

I'm willing to bet it was in development for the 360 a long time ago. Hell, it may have started out on the 360 for all we know. Simultaneous release? How could they be starting on it right now?

You gotta remember while the first DMC did very well, the DMC series is not exactly a console pusher. DMC3 did poorly in Japan and so so everywhere else. DMC2 was bomba:lol. DMC ain't no MGS thats for sure. So Sony loosing a huge exclusive is not exactly true. And don't see why people are still surprised, there were so many hints along the way. Also again, expect to see LP and DR on the PS3 this year:D

I'm not saying that DMC4 going to 360 is going to suddenly cause 2 million people who are interested in getting a PS3 to suddenly shift to the 360, but it does hit Sony hard in the perception departmet. And wasn't DMC4 revealed as part of Sony's keynote a year or two back? Its been pushed from the very beginning to be one of the main 3rd party exclusives for the platform. Anyway you try to spin it, this doesn't help Sony at all in trying to push their console. Even if this wasn't a series as popular and talked about as DMC, Sony can't afford anymore negative press.

Seriously though, Sony needs to show something and like...now.

Totally expected, but still something to behold when reading it... heh.

Lots and lots of crow to be eaten by quite a bit of members here - I'm only on page 5 so far, and already some of the tear-filled responses are kinda sad...

I'm still not into DMC whatsoever, but man, I just HAVE to read this entire thread to see what does down, and if it'll be another "VF5 Comes To 360 pt. 2" - there goes my sleep!

Oh, and poor, poor Shane - this week's 1up Yours/1up Show is gonna be sweet!

I'm happy to see dmc4 come to the 360 as I already own one, I highly doubt any final fantasy games will go multi so I still got my #1 reason for picking up a ps3 in 08, just as I planned anyway :D (plus theres f1, motorstorm and a few others that interest me and will be down in price by then)

That's the ticket. Kick those legs. Stay afloat as long as you can. Good form. :lol

For not giving us a new Street Fighter game and diluting DMC4, Capcom suck.
