(OH SHIZNITS) Devil May Cry 4 confirmed multiplatform PS3/360/PC

You know we all joke about Sony stealing ideas from Nintendo. I think the Sony Ninjas accidently stole the files on how to doom your console leadership files nintendo had from when it fell or Reggie delibertly left them in a folder called WiiHD so sony would take them

Reverse that and you'd have a good plan. Lost Planet is a great rental, but Dead Rising has tons of replayability. It's the game that keeps on giving.

On topic, Sony needs to check their Magic 8-Ball...

I'm gonna be honest I haven't followed what the gamers/following have said about both games, but is Dead Rising really the better game?

Like Bad_Boy said weeks ago, everytime Sony had some great news it gets offset by some bad news.

It continues. Sony will have some great news next week probably. :)

Or Zephyr (cough Mildew cough) will hit with a price cut. =D

It is the grand prize for leading for 2 generations.

:lol :lol

They probably could have stood to NOT steal those trade secrets from Nintendo's rather "oddball" years, I'll definitely agree with that...

No, and you'd be a fool to take advice in games from someone with a Haruhi avatar.

I don't even want to think what will happen to the war if a 360 price drop comes sometime soon...

And to those who are saying DMC4's graphics are beyond the 360's capabilites- what the heck? Have you seen Mass Effect, Gears of War, GRAW 2, or any other 360 games? The 360 is graphically equivalent to the PS3 right now.

Ok guys I'm a huge DMC fan and I wanted to ask a question as to why there are people thinking this will be a bad port. The DMC games have never taken full advantage of the ps2 as we know they don't really push the system graphically. The shots of Devil May Cry 4 look graphically good but definitely not out of the 360's reach.
Wonders why..

:lol

Dead Rising is honestly the better game. Lost Planet has a decent mulitplayer but the single player is a shoddy (but good looking) mess.

Um. No. This isn't ****ing EA or Activision. The technology that they developed for this game was at the core of Dead Rising and Lost Planet. It is specifically tailored to each platform's inherent strengths. This isn't some lowest-common-denominator nonesense.

Yeah, it's even stated in their press release that the game will take advantage of each platform it's released on.

In -addition- to the fact that the framework engine is a flexible, pc based design. Furthermore, RE5 is being developed for multi-consoles at once, so the concept/idea of making a big ass game for multiple consoles isn't new to capcom. (at once).

However, I do fear about the framerate. The PS3 TGS 06 demo of DMC4 has it running at 60 fps, I hope the 360 version holds up as well (I see no reason it shouldn't if capcom puts the effort into it).

But seriously, they need to put DMC1, DMC2, and DMC3 on the 360 (repackaged, AA, 720p, achievements) But make DMC2 harder, make DMC3 a little easier (no reason not to tidy up the games a little)

BAD NEWS! AFTER BAD NEWS! AFTER BAD NEWS! AFTER BAD NEWS! AFTER BAD NEWS!

That's the the first I thought of when I saw the thread. Now Sony fans know what those Cube exclusive owners went through last generation. :lol

You know I didn't even believe what Jonny posted yesterday after what duckroll said but I still said I wouldn't be surprised if DMC4 comes out on 360... and now it's official. It isn't even timed exclusive. I know which of the 3 consoles I will get at last, I'm sure MGS4 will make it to the 360 as well if not GotP then MGS4:S (just like MGS2). As of next month I will be an official next-gen. DS360 owner.
OMG greatest fanboy moment ever!!!!

I'm still inclined to believe the "DQ to DS" topic holds the record, I believe.

But any way, I'll be getting this game for the PC. I'm not part of the problem, right? :lol

Depends, Lost Planet is a traditional 3rd person shooter/action game with some fun multiplayer, Dead Rising is only singleplayer but defies a lot of conventions, very unique. Both are worth the price of admission in my eyes.

God Of War 3.

Not going anywhere since it's owned by Sony, and thankfully so... At least that won't get ruined by going multiplatform.

Seriously, I love how everyone, err, certain people are saying this won't make the game any less of quality... Kinda like how the quality of all the Ubisoft, EA, and Activision games are overall... They push each consoles capabilities to the max!

No kidding. This shit is hilarious. :lol If MGS4 goes to MS, I'll have no more reason to upgrade from Wii60.

You are aware that they are under a deadline right? it pretty much has to come out this winter. So let me ask you... could that extra time spent making the game for the 360 and pc possibly be used for improving the game? hmmm, well If it was still an exclusive they could just focus on the game and they could get the best out of the system. But now seeing as how this decision to make the game multiplatform was made fairly recently, they now have to spend valuable time porting it to other consoles. Valuable time that could have been used to make a much better game.

It's probably a separate division that's doing the port-job. In the same way RE4 was done. But instead now at the same time.

Also, putting the game multi is opening up new possibilities of revenue, this without a doubt allows the company to justify extra man-power and time. This extra man-power and time would probably not even be available if it stayed an exclusive release.

Is it still a banable offense to mention FFXIII on the Wii?
That won't happen- they're already far into development. Kingdom Hearts and the next DQ looks Wii bound IMO.
Given the thread this was posted in, thought I might impart some words of advice:

Y'know how whenever a 3rd-party exclusive is mentioned for another platform other than PS3, some of you folks say it will never happen? Y'know how the exact opposite thing happens every single time you do?

Maybe it's time to take the hint.

With that out of the way, if MGS4 goes multi-platform, as well, Sony's 3rd-party lineup will essentially be propped up by nothing more than FFXIII... FFXIII is not going to be enough to bolster PS3 sales all on its own, especially when a lot of Sony's 1st-party contributions are being squarely aimed at the American and European markets. With the rumored $40 million development budget, that's a LOT of money to recoop when sales of the console it's on are only being bolstered by that specific game.
So, with rumors of the development budget being astronomically high and rumors that White Engine has not even been finalized, it seems like the game isn't far enough along that the PS3 work couldn't be still used for the FFXIII spin-off while the main series makes its way to another platform. While 360 would seem the likely candidate due to its graphics advantages, the FF franchise sells so much in Japan that putting it on 360 is essentially like giving up on making money at this point.
I'm not gonna say that it's going to happen, but FFXIII moving to Wii gets more and more likely with every 3rd-party exclusive that Sony loses. So, rather than saying it's "not gonna happen", acknowledge the possibility that it is within the realm of reality. It might make it more likely that the game will stay on PS3, as I'm personally seeing a platform change as a 50/50 shot at this point.

Your not going to see that this gen though. It's going to be worldwide Wii by a sizeable margin, 360 comfortable#2, and Sony dragging up the rear. Hell, there may be as much dstance worldwide between the 360/ps3, as there is with the wii/360 by the end of this gen.

Clear-cut #1,#2,#3.
Nothing is clear cut. Don't kid yourself.
This will be. I dont see how it could play out any other way.

I think by not choosing to believe this will happen, your kidding yourself.

Hell, I'll make a 2year bet ban.

oh, moku. Never change, NEVER.CHANGE.

I bet it has been in development on the 360 for as long as lost planet has been out. If it has been in development for the 360 since it's conception, then capcom is filthy lier and they would loose even more credibility in my eyes.
DMC4 has been developed in Framework, like Lost Planet and Dead Rising. This engine was designed specifically to make it easy to port to next generation systems. So they didn't need to think of a 360 'port' from inception. The main work is platform independent, and they can go in and tweak it for whatever system that version will appear on. So really the PC is the lead platform for all of Capcom's development.

Well, at least I have blu-ray.

Seriously people there are still 1st and 2nd party titles too. Geez

Grand Theft Auto started it.

Virtua Fighter was next.

Now Devil May Cry 4.

Which games are coming now? The only two big ones left are Metal Gear and Final Fantasy. I'd say Metal Gear is the next one coming. I'm a little sad for Sony, they had this whole gen won and they royally screwed it up with arrogance. They could have had a next gen walk through the park, and they botched it!

Sony N64ed themselves. It's unfortunate.

Far and aways Dead Rising is better... I had so much fun with that game... Lost Planet sold because it rode the coat-tails of Dead Rising... The MP in LP is meh, and SP is blah... Dead Rising, while lacking MP, still has a higher replayability factor to it... IMHO
