LOL no no, Time Travel is a trick where you set your DS internal clock to change the game's clock to your advantage. In other words you can cheat to get the item you've missed in the shop a few days earlier. Or set your DS clock to your birthday to get your birthday present... Its not recommended.

Does it ever cause problems in online multiplayer? I kinda always assumed it did because it's a category for the spreadsheet.

Y'know, I'm pretty sure all those years back I time travelled on the DS version multiple years into the future to see what would happen. I got weeds everywhere, and the little me was so upset.

Then never. Wow. I misread that....

And GMT has nothing to do with the system's quirks I hope.

Well duh, its like we're in summer season, do you mind if you saw someone running around in a santa outfit because its winter season over there already? :\

Oh no, but it helps to know what were your sleeping hours. That way we can plan our schedule for that friend who should be up around that time.

I doesn't really cause outright problems except for maybe overunning the game with items too early or taking some of the fun out of it.

Is this going to be as good as the old Nintendo Power guide? Even that was a bit error-prone. But it was still kinda useful, especially if you (like me) don't get to just hop on any ol' time of day yet don't want to miss things.

Is this good? If so, I'll definitely order it. Haven't gotten a good strategy guide in a long time and I miss them so much :(

Also-- I'll post my friend code soon. Really excited about New Leaf (even getting the 3DSXL bundle for it!) and really hope to play with some GAFfers!

I'm not sure if it'll be like the older Animal Crossing guides, since this will be my first foray. But for this price, I'll take a chance on it. :) Hoping since it has 528 pages, it will be pretty comprehensive.

I'll add you Smedwicks when you get that poptart!

Poor southern hemisphere.

Haha everytime I read your posts, I hear Tharja.

anyone with the JP copy want to link up? Need to get some foreign fruit going in my town :)

electroplankton has the jp copy. He's not here (BANNED! lol) but I know him as a good guy and I bet you recognize him as well. His FC is 4854 7340 9242 and he has orange, mango and coconut. :3

Item box here has an early copy too. His FC is 4854 7340 9242 and he has... blue shells? and bananas?

dustinc here has an early copy? and he has pears. His FC isn't confirmed but here it is. 3050-7577-2681

Awesome, thanks! Should I add the current friend code that I have now? I'm totally up for that, but I don't really use my 3DS an absolute ton at the moment, but totally up for adding my friend code now (or, well, a bit later), too!

And yeah, if it's that big, I'd assume that it's got to be decent... might as well bite on that strategy guide since it's such a low price, haha!

So, I just got the game 2 days ago... and for both days Nookling Junction has only offered nets and shovels. Is there any way I could pop over to someone's town and grab a fishing rod?

I got Fishing pole and shovel my two days...

We should trade, pole for net :)

Oh man I just started watching the Nintendo Treehouse series on AC and now I'm all hyped up for the new game. Hopefully New Leaf can hold my interest longer than the other games. Being able to see your map beforehand and being Mayor should provide a lot of things to do.

Haha, well, I expect something like that, yeah! x)

I was thinking about some bizarre glitches or something like that. But yeah, it'll definitely take quite a bit of fun out of it to know that someone's controlling everything they get. It's pretty much cheating.

Wait..... Blue shells grow on trees?! THOSE blue shells?

I'm so hyped for this game now. It's weird how my taste in games have changed as I've gotten older. I'm not interested in big AAA games as much as just fun "casual" games. I fully expect to be hooked on this game. Digital download for me, since I'll be flying for business the day of release and I want it on my 3DS always.

Would you say Animal Crossing is casual? It's surprisingly deep with plenty of content. That's my opinion anyway.

Yeah I'd say a lot more love goes into the content and the localization and all that than the typical 'casual game'. It's certainly more interesting.

Thinking of getting the guide from Amazon. 6 dollars cheaper than being it at Gamestop on release but...if I order it from Amazon, will it ship TILL the 9th? or would I have it by the 9th?

Hahaha... casual.

I hate that word so much when people try to pigeon-hole games. Can some people play it casually? I'm sure. But most of us that have been posting for the nearly 100 pages this thread has become are not those people.

*chuckles*

Hello there, guys and dolls.
WB, Sats!

Well, we can play Animal Crossing how we want to.
And there is no set goals, I guess it's both casual and hardcore.

Iwata :
And as a result, you managed to make 50 per cent more items of furniture than in the last game, and with the custom designs function, players can customize furniture according to their own taste. If you multiply the number of different types of furniture by the number of individual designs available, there truly is a huge amount of possibilities.
Yup the content is definitely hardcore!

The guide ships on the 9th, but I think you can have it the day of by paying for same-day. I opted for Prime 2-day. I don't need it right away. It's fun o explore the game a little first before consulting the guide.

As someone who only has an hour or so in the evenings now (due to baby) I'm hoping I can still get the most out of it. I suppose I could always just take my 3DS to bed, though. Who needs sleep anyway, right? Certainly not a 30 year old father of a 12 month old!

This is the read only images version of the spreadsheet I've maintained. The actual spreadsheet that anyone can add themselves in are constantly compromised so I don't recommend it. You can just add your info here in this thread or in a pm to me.

FC, GMT and time traveler?

Time Traveler? If that means screwing with the clock, I don't plan too. Already it seems a lot easier to make money in this game than previous ones.

Hmm...will an hour be enough for all the villagers? I'm not sure how much attention they require before they start getting all moody and then leave.

You're right. Just ordered it with the free 2 day shipping on Prime. :D

He says that now... but watch how he'll make time. Stealing 20 minutes in the bathroom here and there through out the day just to keep up. *chuckles*

It's amazing how it adds up. I didn't think I played as much Fire Emblem and the next thing I knew, I hit 70 hours.

This is true. My customary daily work dump may come in handy.

I guess you could say the one thing I adore about AC is that it's just a kickback and relax kinda game. The first one on the N64/GC was a great thing to come home to after a long day.

I've noticed however, that New Leaf seems kinda... hectic? Everything seems much busier and I'm not sure If I like that.

Can anyone who's played confirm it's still chilled out?

Just asking this on a new page, as It was drowned out on the last one :)

What do people who haven't played think, also?

I honestly don't know or have an idea. I do know that the first day is always hectic. And getting everything IN SEASON is hectic for a few days to weeks. I imagine it really depends on one's play style.

From the delivery date, it looks like I will receive it on the 11th. I might go to Best Buy, and try to get a price match. I would like to have the book when I start the game. Damn you Nintendo and your Sunday releases!

Judging by how mellow the developers always sound when they're giving interviews, I feel like they're incapable of making a hectic game.

I'm still trying to figure out what "Animal Crossing" means. Crossing what?

Crossing each other.

I fully intend to have the most relaxing time possible.

Until GAF wants to visit, then I'll have to be hospitable :>
