Yeah but the Wii was hacked while the 3DS hasn't been, so far.

I'm so thankful the 3DS isn't hacked simply because that means there will be no shenanigans in this game. Hacking ruined Wild World and City Folk.

The lack of piracy is indeed awesome too, especially since it encourages more niche publishers to put out 3DS content. The only positive thing I could see coming from hacking the system would be the removal of region lock.

Bummer, I feel like that's something I would have researched I mean if I knew Japanese I'd do it no question, but... I don't, and a lot of the exclusive JP titles are heavily text based.

I bought a JP 3DS to get over region-lock, but then discovered there wasn't much Japanese software I was interested in.

I was thinking of pulling a trigger on an LL, but I thought to myself, what would I even get. Senran Kagura and maybe the Project Mirai games (I'm not into Vocaloid).
I can't even find games I would like to import for my PS3 yet I've imported 2 Wii games.

It was kind of an impulse purchase while I was away in [random Asian country]. Picked it up with Project Mirai, Little Battlers, and that Taiko Drum game. Got Senran Kagura and PXZ later too. They're fun but yeah, doesn't seem worth it unless you're into those heavily text-based games which seems to be the stars of the JP 3DS.

I guess that's when I discovered that the majority of games I import are SRW titles that usually get released on Sony stuff, UX being an exception AFAIK.

I told you. Get a mechanical pencil. The end is a nice tip and of course it is pencil shaped. Just remove the lead if you're too worried.

I heard deterioration in City Folk happens faster in winter and since a lot of people got it at launch they were faced with it straight away. Also it takes ages to grow back. I slowly recovered my grass with flowers but it took me months.

They were such a con. Luckily I soon got a WiFi router that worked with my DS soon afterwards. Didn't have WW mind. That's why the Wii title for me wasn't so bad. Unfortunately the GAF community died really quickly so it wasn't as fun. Also I had a lot of real life commitments that got in the way and the TV was shared back then. Basically this time round I should have an even better AC experience.

There isn't really anything to "master" in this series, it's one of the most just laid back and fun games out there. You buy and sell items, try to make money by selling fish, or other goodies you find. Fishing is real easy in this series, and it's all about making your town, and home look and feel the way you want it.

Nah, it's very easy to get into. Part of the charm is how laidback it is.
