Why the hell haven't we graduated to a good hundred active patterns by now. Especially with all this QR madness :(

If I recall the simple guide to turnips is to only buy at a certain price (don't know if this price varied between the games, but I'm sure you can find it out online somewhere) and sell by the third(?) day because chances are the price would only go down so it was better to cut your loss before you lost everything.

The real best way to play the stalk market is to network with a bunch of friends all checking their prices every time they change.

That's how I made my 21 million.

I used to buy for around 100b in City Folk and Thursday would be my best day to sell them. Can be a dangerous game if you're playing alone, but with a community this big, *someone* is going to have a jackpot day and we can visit them and sell.

I think it depends on the SD card, really. A quality SD card in good working order should easily last the years you can expect to be playing New Leaf (I've heard 100K write cycles tossed around, and that's before the card's own wear-leveling), and I believe it gets used more often for all the other 3DS things than New Leaf will ever ask of it.

That said, the chip in the retail card is definitely engineered specifically for New Leaf use. So there's that…

I am gonna stick with download. I have faith in my SD card.

I have a brand new 32gb Class 10 SanDisk card that I just bought, but that Backup Save Check thing really freaked me out. What if I want to buy a new SD Card and mess up and corrupt my save? I just want my Animal Crossing town to be safe. :(

So you can design your own clothes and tiles? Anything else?

Also, can you give them to other players? Or is it just via QR code?

I have one of those too that I bought about a year ago and it's been a solid performer.

I think you'll be okay even if you botch a SD-to-SD transfer. It's restoring from an older backup that presents the problem. If you haven't saved in New Leaf in the interim, you should still be able to use your old card or try again.

Visitors to your town can copy the patterns you have on display at the Able Sisters' shop.

I don't usually bother to plat a game. I know a lot of people say that it gets them to do things they normally wouldn't do, but I tend to obsess sometimes and will burn myself out if I try too hard, so I don't usually worry about it.

Yeah I don't care about achievements/plats at all. I get whatever happens to pop up as I'm playing. I don't actively seek them. A lot of them tend to be stupid stuff, too. Like Ninja Gaiden 2's achievements where you get one for everytime you beat the game using one specific weapon. That's just insane artificial padding right there.

If I tried to plat every game I had I'd probably be dead from old age or boredom.

Pretty much. There's no real risk if 100+ people are checking their turnip prices daily.

Do SD Cards usually exhibit symptoms before they go bad or could it just format one day out of the blue?

What's the largest SD Card a 3DS can take anyway. My 32gb one is almost full...

Twice daily!

(We never managed that level of dedication, heh.)

I don't think they generally have warning, no.

Officially, I believe it's 32, but there are people using larger ones through format trickery somehow. I don't trust it.

I just got done going through the last (probably about 10) pages adding people. If you see your name on this list, please add me! If you don't see yourself on this list, please add me and send a pm! :D

I plan to do what I always do in any Animal Crossing, fish. All day, everyday. Why? Cause I like complaining about catching Sea Bass. Also, those puns.

Are there ways to miss special events and stuff? I tend to maybe play for about an hour on the 3DS of one of my games, but don't have necessarily have every day to be keeping up with stuff.

You'll get notices on the board when an event is approaching, villagers will talk about it and (usually) they are on the same day as real life events, such as Halloween.

Cheers Robin! By notices, you think we'll use something similar to the Spotpass/Streetpass notifications too?

That would be immensely helpful for me.

I tried to get back to Legend of Dragoon this morning. I had an old 35 hour save that I was going back to to find out that I was actually missing 2 stardust and I didn't know where or when (how far back) and I explored my saves a bit and I saw I missed it close to the beginning. I tried to play it for a while and the QTE bits of the battle really grates on me. The game doesn't age well... and particularly after completing FFVIII recently I just decided LoD wasn't just for me afterall.

My husband will finally sell the ps1 and the games now. To get some money back to help pay off the bundle and his copy of ACNL. :3

He's also going to trade in the pink DSi for me and get the DSlite (so he could play the gba games on it) and sell the gamecube/gba player as well.

So that's leave the wii. I have 3 wii games on it. Opoona (the MOST fantastic rpg ever omfg) will stay when Wii U comes but the three I need to finish will probably go to a good home after I finish it.

So the three wii games left are LoD: Skyward Sword, Arc Rise Fantasia and ToS: Dawn of the New World. I was a bit ways in with all 3 but more planning is done on ToS:DotNW so I'll try to finish that first.
Opoona was so awesome. It's a shame that game didn't get more attention.

Do they let you access all tools at the start this time?

Always so frustrating having to wait 3-4 days before I find all of them at Nooks (especially a shovel..). Almost feel forced to time travel just to start.
