Hi AC Gaf. Finally finished catching up like the last 15 or so pages. lol.

So... AC is pretty serious business. :P

---

Philia, I've always wondered if your name was from Destiny, haha. It was my 2nd Tales (I played Phantasia first, but never finished it), and one of my favs.

It was my 2nd Tales game too! :)

Though, Vesperia was my first, with Phantasia being my third... :P

Symphonia was my first and then Vesperia. I also picked up that one PSP Tales game that was localized here.

I've finished 0 Tales games.

I just skimmed through the NDA again. I can't talk about certain things til the 4th of June, but I can, however, post screenshots on 'social networks/blogs/articles'. Since GAF is my social network of choice, here's my biggest catch of the day:

If you get a chance I'd like to compare NDA's. Mine wasn't very specific outside of stating I couldn't post the review before a certain date. The other bit was about online/island connectivity but that NDA has already expired. I'll PM you my email addy.

I'll also try to snap some town and island shots and put them in the thread if anyone is interested in seeing them. It'll be later tonight though.

I don't know; for some reason I always lose interest in the game part of the way through. I guess they move too slowly for me to stay with them to to the end.

Maybe it's because they all have terrible storylines.
I suggest you get Tales of Graces f, it has a terrible storyline too but one of the best battle systems ever. The battle system kept me hooked till the end.

Haha, I played it when it was released (I was a kid, but not so much anymore). If that indicates how old I am. lol :P

You should get on that.

Also, lol at your reply to my swapnote.

You're a bad person, recommending lolGracesF to another human being.

Have you no shame?

Is that the new one coming out? I get confused by all the names.

I guess my problem is the combat feels like it takes awhile before it opens up so there are a ton of hours where I'm just blindly mashing through fights.

I played it about 2 years back. Actually, most of the games I've played have been in the past 2 years. I've had some serious catching up to do.

Like...I finished Final Fantasy VII for the first time just a few months ago, same with IV, V and VI. :P

That's the one that came out last year, the one coming out is Xillia.
Buy it! https://store.sonyentertainmentnetw...es-f/cid=UP0700-NPUB31133_00-TALESOFGRACESFDC
If you do buy it I suggest playing on the highest difficulty level available at the start (Hard I believe) since you can't button mash your way to victory that way.

Real talk. Graces F is probably the worst game released in 2012. Only Lollipop Chainsaw rivals it in that regard.

Anything is better than Graces F.

But Graces F is totally redeemed by its battle system (I guess you could say it is its saving grace, teehee). It's not that bad as long as you ignore the storyline which is standard animu crap.

lol graces f sure does have a lot of microtransactions

Those are totally optional and game-balance breaking.

I've finished the game and I can safely say I hate the battle system. Iunno why it's hyped so much.

The characters are okay. Asbel and Hubert can go away. Malik is a boss. Sophie and Pascal are the best. Cheria's pretty good.

Music sucks.

which one?

MGS

Awesome. They are great games. :) Play the Suikoden series and Breath of Fire series too. ;)

Yeah Graces f has an amazing combat system; it's totally worth playing for that alone. The key to it is to always manually scale the difficulty to a level that is challenging but not insurmountable for you. You are rewarded for taking on enemies at higher difficulties, so it's in your best interest to do so. It keeps almost every battle interesting and engaging.

Anyway... Animal Crossing!

I got you. Nintendo has been incredibly vague about this release, haha.

Picked up a 3ds today feel free to add me gaf: 2852-7663-1556 (not sure where to post this) will be getting AC, I just bought Mario kart.

Added! Mine is 2750-1606-0145 :)

I love Mario Kart 7. Its my favorite 3DS game at the moment, I'm playing it a lot to wade off the time that is still blocking me from Animal Crossing.

Wiggler is so badass in that game.

As a lazy villager, Moe will be easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he shares an interest in food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food (fishing). He will get along well with Normal and Peppy villagers. He may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness, who do not understand the reason behind the lazy lifestyle choice. He does not get along with Cranky villagers. Cranky villagers will get angry when talking to Moe and start to yell at him. He gets offended very easily, and will get real upset.

LMAO!! Might end up needing me some of dat New Leaf.

I've never played a Tales game becauuuuse I never had the consoles for them. That and I heard you can't control all your party members. Never liked that aspect of the original Persona 3.

Abyss on the 3DS, I like that one.

But yeah they aren't turn based so that'll put you off.

Well, it's an action RPG. So it would be kinda hard to control all of them at the same time... lol. But you can switch your chosen character anytime in a battle.

I never did that, even though the option was always there. It just felt a bit wrong to not be playing the main character.

I'm pretty sure by doing so I've missed a lot of cool things about the battle systems though...

You've never had a console before? They've been like almost everywhere.

If there's one thing that Graces F's battle system did right, it's playing as different characters. That's the only game from the series where I did not play as the lead all the time.

I like this when it works in 3, but in a game like Persona it got soooo much more effective in 4 when they let you give orders.

Two of my friends also broke down and got City Folk with me now. The hype for New Leaf is only growing.
