Oh, exciting news, you guys! You may have noticed that in the Japanese version, you start out with black eyes on every face. Well, in the US/EU version, you start with an eye color! Some eyes have it random while others are set.

You need to upgrade. ASCII is well out of date :)

EDIT: Though UTF8 is backwards compatible with ASCII so you could just have been using that, I suppose...
 
Haven't seen anything posted about it yet, but is that lost kitten/mom thing back for AC:NL? That kitten was lost in my town all the time and it got really annoying. :lol

I believe they are still around but with how much better the 3DS online is, it should be fine just send a swapnote to tell 3DS peeps you have the lost cat then visit each other.

Would this be a good game to get a non-gaming girl gaming? :)
My fionce has never been one for gaming and I really want her to join in my number one hobby. She enjoys the odd Facebook game every now and then but that's it. I have never played a animal crossing game befor but it looks like its fun and "cute" enough to get her interested.

I have ordered the Bundled 3DS as a really late mothersday present.

Animal Crossing is one of the best way to get people into gaming =)
 
Completely forgot about all the City Folk screenshots that are on my SD card. I need to upload them at some point. Some are hilarious. :lol

Animal Crossing is VERY easy to get into. There's a significant portion of the gaming crowd that loves this game that are female. Not to mention older too. Moms, wives, girlfriends, and sisters loving this game are pretty prevalent throughout this thread. :) Seriously, this is the game to break them into the gaming hobby.

I gave Wild World to my gf after she got herself a DSi and, uh, she hated it. Boring and slow, apparently. The only game she plays is Guild Wars 2.

I see the similarities but never got the reasoning AC gets called like the Sims. I mean in the Sims you play it, tbph, as a doll house where you control life however you want, whilst I find Animal Crossing as more of a game of hobbies, i.e. fishing, planting flowers, collecting items.

Trying to determine if I purchase on release or not since I have to get a 3DS still. Does this game have a lot of single player content? Is the focus on multiplayer?

The way I'd put it is that the focus is on your experience, your interactions with your town, etc. but then with the added dimension of sharing that experience with others.

I think I'm down to two names for my town. It's gonna be either Hoenn or Ylisse. I'm leaning a little bit more towards Ylisse. Has a nice ring to it and I can yell "FOR YLISSE!" when smacking my ugly neighbors with a net. I like that

EDIT: Also I'm gonna add everyone I who has added me when I get home on Wednesday. New frieeends~~ :D
