No Time Travel. EST (eastern time). Thanks so much. I'm glad to be apart of this, going to be a great game to have fun with this summer, I can just tell.

Heh, I mainly joined here just to be a part of CrossingGAF. :)

I was so worried that I wouldn't be approved before the release date...

In 999, you have to get a certain amount of endings before you can get the good one. However, they let you blow past text you've already seen so subsequent playthroughs should go by faster. I recommend getting a couple different endings then reading online about the requirements for the best ending.

You'll be glad to know that you can skip through the conversations. :3 Plus you already know the passwords and such for future runs.

Thanks.

You have to get every other ending to get the true ending anyway, so it's really out of your hands. Trust me, do it. Just do it. It's worth the effort, especially if you decide later on to buy the sequel.

Thanks a ton guys. That seals it: I'm not going to read up on any walkthrough. I'll chug along and put it on hold the moment AC is in my hands.

Welp.

I just finished weeding my long-neglected Wild World town. There's a friggin' rafflesia next to the museum though.

I'm kind of tempted to break out all the hybrid flowers I have in storage and plant them around my house. Since the sun's out in town right now I can actually see all those beautiful colors at the moment as they sit in their little pots indoors. They'd look even more fabulous outdoors…

Can someone help me out with 999? I just finished the game, and I absolutely loved it. It was an incredible ride. I love point-and-clickers (and I also love Hotel Dusk, Layton, Phoenix Wright, Walking Dead, Monkey Island).

However, I know that I got a bad ending. The ending blew me away, shocked me, struck at my core, but it's very obvious this is a game that has multiple endings and that it will take a bit of work to get the "right" ending. However, Animal Crossing is right around the corner... and I don't want to be tied up with 999 by the time that comes out. I want to be fully invested in AC on the DS.

I have three choices here:

1) Minimum amount of work: read what's essentially a transcript of the good ending

2) Ideal amount of work: play the game one more time and use a walkthrough to make sure select all the right doors and get the good ending

3) Maximum amount of work: continue to play the game without a walkthrough and find out the correct path on my own, through multiple playthroughs

Is it worth it to go down path #3?

The true ending is significantly longer than any of the others. You aren't going to want to just read a transcript. You'd be missing out on a lot.

I know you guys don't like Time Travel, but me, my twin brother, and my best friend are all getting this game. We are downloading it June 8th Pacific Time. Anyways, I came up with a plan as to where my brother has his town set in the summer (until the season ends then roll into the next), my best friend has his town set in winter, and I have mine in either Fall or Spring. After that, no more time travel. Anyways, we want to do this as a way to have more oppritunities to visit eachothers towns and fish and catch bugs etc. It sounds really fun...but my issue is, Should I pick Spring or Fall? I want to fish more, and I want it to rain more. Tips GAF?
p.s. been lurking this topic for a while.

Very lucky! It took me nearly 6 months to get approved. :o

Heh, that's what I was scared of! About a week in I got super paranoid that I wouldn't get approved for months. The last thing I wanted to do was to make a "LTTP: Animal Crossing: New Leaf" thread... >:

Oh god I'm so behind on this thread. Despite acting like a father who abandons his children with my lack of activity here the past couple of days, I still love you all!

THIRTEEN MORE DAYS

Ahhh, I see. I used my student email... However, I am no longer a student... This could be an issue if I change this account to my 'normal' email account. >_>;;

I joined in March 2012 but didn't get approved until early July that year.

I remember it taking me 2 or so days to reach member status :p

I joined GAF for the OT of Mario Kart 7, so I could get some decent online going. 7th December 2011, that was. By the time I was approved, the MK7 community was mostly dead here, with only the odd one or two people still playing. Sigh.

pat pat. >:

Same here. I lurked every single damn day, always waiting for that email saying I could finally post. I thought it would never come.

I was doing the same, but it took pretty much 2 weeks for me. I guess I got it pretty lucky...!

You guys were lurking and then spot a thread that couldn't make you resist posting in, so you guys finally take the plunge to register? LOL man, I joined GAF because I knew this place was THE PLACE for gaming news to hit the fastest and knowing that devs and pr would hit this place too viral marketer or not.

Don't be sad, those people play A LOT. Like, if you mention that you want to play in the thread they are ready to go most of the time.

You make it sound like you were some impending doom approaching the planet and everyone bailed out before you hit.

I got approved in a few months I think. Registered and kind of forgot about it.

Been looking into what it takes to get a Perfect Town in New Leaf and there's some dependence on public works here.

http://bidoofcrossing.tumblr.com/post/44114461860/great-blog-glad-you-still-have-it-would-you-happen

Of particular interest is that it seems like a number of the public works that are technology-oriented ding your nature score. Found this kind of surprising! I should be careful, because I know I'll want to get perfect someday.

Interesting. Do you still need perfect to get the golden watering can?

I also haven't seen some of those projects they listed, they sound... amazing.

I'm the exact same, I can't even remember the student email I used either.
It was something random like: 28166792@blahblah.com. I wanna change it but I'm worried I'll get locked out. I hope we never have to confirm something by email in the future.

Oh, it took me a year to become a member, I forgot I even registered.

Same, I use to click the reply button to see if I could reply to a comment.

I was surprised when it actually worked and I could comment.
BSN is so bad compared to neogaf, but it was the next best thing :(

While true, I never needed an account to read the news. I was always content with that. Now I am on this forum all the time..

Fun aside fact: I've only made 11 topics on GAF.

Lmao, I didn't know what that was until I googled. BIOWAREEEEEE. XD Poor guy. I still facepalm EVERY time there's a bioware game.

I only make OTs for niche games so I've made like...3. I'm too scared of making threads for anything else and having it backfire.

Haha, I take it you don't like Bioware? :)

My brother is a massive Bioware fan, though...well, I've not played any of their games.

Yeah it took like...9 months or something for me to be accepted I think. Don't remember. I just know it seemed like forever. But I like that you can't just register and you're in. On most forums ppl can just sign up, troll hard and cause chaos, get banned, and make another account usually. Not so easy to do that here.

Also, I made this last night, but didn't wanna post it until you showed up. lol

I'd play it more but for some reason the online hates me so I'm stuck mostly playing it as a commuting game. One day I'll get the gold kart, just another 10000 coins to go...

I can't remember how long it took for me to get approved. I signed up, realised I had to wait and forgot about it. Next time I checked the site for some reason I found I could post. I used the ISP email which I don't often check so I may have been approved long before my first post.

I'm not going to lie. Ever since I saw Jade Empire, that was it. I just figured that was their "thing" and I wasn't a fan from the start. Besides... I got better taste than that. ;3

I did play KOTOR though but that was wayyyy back then.

I don't remember why I signed up. I don't even remember how I found it. I think I found out about GAF from Penny Arcade but even that I'm iffy on.

I used a community college email but I'm in uni now... Would be nice to change it to my uni mail but I don't want to screw it up and get locked out. Plus I don't even remember my old email, lol.
