Awwww snap; Animal Crossing cliques are forming.

I'm talking down the line. Man, everyone's welcome for now! I just don't think that in six months time I'd be willing to open my gates for so many people to come in to, especially given you can only have 3 at a time and it's not exactly the fastest process either. I bet it would take 3 or more hours to get everyone in assuming they were all even online.

So what's the consensus for the OT title? I thought we were going with making fun of City Folk. :(
It's best to just pretend that little "accident" didn't exist. Leave the unholy abortion to the forgotten realms of disgust where it belongs

I still can't believe just how god-awful that title was. I'm trying to think of a lazier first-party effort from Nintendo in the past decade, and I'm seriously coming up blank.

GOD IT WAS JUST SO TERRIBLE

For Whom the Bells Grow seems to be the winner. I still like "A Nook Repays His Debts" but that's just me :P
But Nook never has any debts to repay. In fact, it is quite the opposite!

For me I might have to segregate American from European! I just won't be up when you guys play on the nights.

I would've loved a Mike Haggar reference for the OT, but there doesn't seem to be much to work with. :P

I've kinda already been that asshat. :P I've not any problem friending people who have reached out to me but anyone I've added is mostly because I like how they've been interacting and posting with people in the thread.

Quality not quantity. :)

Plus I think the whole "lewd" thing kinda highlighted just how diverse tastes we have regardless of our love for The One Game. I really think people should be picking who they interact with based off multiple interests and not just because we all think Bob is a badass. Because he is.

Well, my play time will be between noon->midnight gmt +1.
If there is someone who won't be able to play with me I guess they can already delete
:(
me.
No point in having friends you'll never be able to play with I guess.

See, that depends... some of us have become good SwapNote buddies. I think that's a call for later on down the road. :)

Right! Well said. You make friends based on not just similar interests, but also your ability to interact socially with them. I know a few people deleted me from their 3DS friend list because I sent a picture of the Statue of David out, and that's fine. I wouldn't want to interact with the type of people that are scared to go into a museum.

Yeah, I'm sure within a few weeks the friends we aren't necessarily compatible with in regards to our AC play style preference will be weeded out

Except for me. I'll never be the weed. I GOT DAT MASS MARKET APPEAL

Slowly looks at avatar. Hangs head in shame for being divisive

Just joking, if I wanted furry bullshit in my Nintendo experiences I would be passing the time writing erotic Sonic fan-fiction instead of what I'm currently doing, which is literally anything other than that. PRUDE LEAF 4 LYFE

Do you have that kotaku writer on your list or something lol

How about the Mario Advance games? Terribly lazy.

This thread turned dark.

Mmmm... dark meat...

I'm also going to do a little list cleanup too at some point. I have like 70+ people on my list. lol

I'll keep the swapnoters and girl-gaf though. <3

Man, and that was the highlight of E3 2008 for them. What a crap year.

Twitch streaming is nice, but not when I'm about to go to sleep because work is hard tomorrow...

Well I'll watch some more anyway...

edit : don't remonve me people I love you and I swapnote !

Yeah, I'm to do a clean up soon. There are people on my friends list that I added here who I've not even talked with, nor even seen since...

I'm probably gonna feel so bad the moment I start the clean up, though. >:

We're still livestreaming and about to give away our third game (Thomas was alone) on the city folk stream.

Also looking for people who have the game to join in our stream (besides everyone else chatting and what not)

http://www.twitch.tv/marriedtoletsplay

Lots of hype chat for New Leaf as well!

Haha... this thread is distracting enough when I'm supposed to be working. :P I don't think I can handle the live-stream at the moment. Thank you though!

TWA is a great game too. Liked it a lot.

How about the Mario Advance games? Terribly lazy.
Weren't those games marketed as ports with just a few additional features though? Animal Crossing: City Folk was supposed to be a full-blown sequel to Wild World. Instead, it was as if Wild World got a shitty DLC expansion that cost $50.

I think the New Mario Bros are pretty lazy as well. Wah-wah!
I have so many criticisms when it comes to the NSMB series, but I wouldn't put it in the same ballpark as city folk. At least 100% of the levels are new, even if the assets are both generic and recycled from version to version.

Happens all the time Flynn, pretty soon a good majority will move on to new games like Pokemon X and Y so it'll be a bit smaller by then.

I'm really good with buying games I like but yeah, city folk burned me so bad. Didn't want Mario that year, got this. I maxed out my houses in both GC and DS.

This house only has one upgrade done.

Okay, 3DS names and town names are in. I'll make a column for those. I'll put that on the read only submit form. This online spreadsheet will go live when the OT starts. I prefer it to be when the game launches for the fruit section once everyone finds out their native fruit ingame but I don't think a whole lot of people would actually care that much at that point. So I'd just include a post with fruit icons for people to add to their avatars. Or some of us can slap it on there for you. This way it shows your dedication when you join the OT after getting the game. :)

Besides, turns out the Island fruits
(mangoes, durians, lychees, and lemons)
are available no matter what.
Persimmon and Bamboo
is available from the final shop upgrade.

On top of that, coconut is known to be washed ashore in WW (don't know if its the same in NL) and it'd not matter what you have for native Palm since you'd get coconut eventually. So essentially....

Bananas as an exclusive Palm fruit, and Peaches, Pears, Apples, Oranges, and Cherries will be the official icons to include on your avatars to allow people to get these from your town because there's no other quicker way to get them outside of getting them as gifts. They're also essential for anyone who wants to get rich quick with having foreign fruit orchards in their own backyard.

So with that said, I'll go ahead and include these icons here in case anyone want to save these. :3

Apparently it is literally a carbon copy of Wild World with a few new things.
Basically. Even Wild World was essentially Animal Crossing 1.5... and Animal Crossing for the Gamecube was a port from the N64 game (which was a Japan exclusive). I think part of the reason Wild World went over so well was due to the portability plus rolling log effect. There were definitely some other substantial improvements, but if Wild World was just Animal Crossing 1.5 (and it was), City Folk was Animal Crossing 1.6. The new content and improvements were seriously that minimal. It felt like a lifeless rehash, because that is in fact exactly what the developers created. FINALLY New Leaf seems to be the true, fully fleshed-out sequel that I've been craving since 2002.

I liked Lets Go to the City, but I skipped the DS version so that element for me didn't affect me. However despite that there are two major reason why it was disappointing a) Wii Speak was terrible and left a sour taste in everyone's mouth due to it being a waste of plastic b) The game didn't really look like it took advantage of the Wii's power especially texture wise. Compare the villagers from the Brawl stage with those in LGtoC and the latter look significantly worse.
