Nothing specifically SD-related with New Leaf, no. The 1.0 version of the game in Japan and Korea did have some issues including save corruption issues, but those were patched and we're getting 1.1 out of the gate.

People losing their entire SD card contents or getting their Swapnotes wiped out are the kinds of things I've heard.
Ah, well I guess there's nothing really we can do to prevent that. It would really suck to lose your entire town...

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

On GameXplain's video(s), he donated 1 bell and then the next video he checked, the animals donated it up to about like 200-400 bells. So the other animals do contribute, but it's very little...

hmm. I'll double check then. I might have written the numbers down wrong.

You might just have to start it off. The animals probably donate in ranges relative to what you put in. Put in a few bells and it probably activates "donate some amount under 1k bells per day". Put in a larger amount and you get the animals donating more.

Or at least I hope so. If I'm making the town better I don't expect to pay for half.

Man, came home and I have 40 new Swap Notes. I was not prepared for this.

Does Swapnote have a limit as to how many messages you can have? Will it automatically delete the old ones, or does it just keep using memory?

I've never used Swapnote until a few days ago...haha.

Something like that. Most people who recorded it did all of it in a fell swoop, though.

I checked 150 of them yesterday, so it'll keep them.

Sadly, it doesn't work like that. I donated 12000 bells into a public works project just to test it out and the following day I had 122xx. Those lazy animals only donated 200+ bells.

You really have to work for these projects yourself. People who visit your town can donate money to it too.

It seems really rare though. I keep searching and I keep finding the same two or three instances. I mean, apart from poor Marvie. (Though that could have been an outright bug in Swapnote, too.)

SD cards should be good enough to support playing Animal Crossing for a few years, at the very least.

Sats must be quite busy painting; best of luck, girl! Hoping for the best.

Hello y'all. Back from work. Caught up with all the 'haps. Unfortunately I haven't put ANY thought on what my town flag will be. My town name is Madera; perhaps some simple wood-looking texture?

As far as the whole 'cleaning the friends list' thing goes, I want to play a lot with absolutely everyone, but I guess my playtime schedule will dictate that. Thing is, I'm taking my two-week work vacation for this game (that's right), so after that, things will change.

I wish the limit was 200 or maybe 500 friends; then there would be no problem... :(

Clearly you need to beat some charity into them.

I really have to problem with this. Gives me something to work toward.

I like the idea of helping other people out, though. =D

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure if it was the SD card or swapnote, but I'm not taking any chances. :lol

Do you know if we only help out just by donating? Or are there other ways?

I don't know. I only know it's always been possible to give others bells. I used to mail my sister's character some bells to help her pay off her house and get to the next addition in the original game. lol

I've been watching videos on youtube all day of minigames and other fun journals people have put up of New Leaf. I can't stop watching. Halp.

back up your SD card once a week or so?

but yeah a cloud backup service for the saves would be nice

just give me a fuckin dropbox app on the eShop

Pitfall seeds are the most useless items ever They were so common in Wild World that I started running over every crack that I saw so that the pitfall seeds would just disappear and I wouldn't have to dispose of them manually.

I recall someone saying that every time you save the game, the 3DS associates a code with that particular save so that it can only load your last save. So if you were to backup your saves, you would have to do it each time you save your game.

Plant them around the houses of your ugly villagers! Or... you know... in other people's towns.
You didn't hear it from me

In what ways is a second player in the same town (same game/system) limited? You can't both be mayor, right?

I guess I'm asking what does the mayor do that a second player wouldn't have access to at all?

Only the first player is the mayor.

So all mayor stuff (public works, laws, etc.) are off limits. Everything else is open to them though.

Public works, which are projects you can build around town. Benches, street lamps, even whole buildings.

They can also set ordinances which can affect when shops are open and other things.

Switching to iPad. Ugh; hate typing on that thing. I'll be reading and swapnoting...and waiting, for New Leaf.
