Update: this competition is now closed. Winner announced when we have the relevant details confirmed. Thanks for playing.
This competition invites contestants to guess the North American launch date and the North American recommended retail price for both the XBone and the PS4.
Rules:
1. Predict the North American launch date and the North American price in U.S. dollars of both the Microsoft Xbox One and the Sony Playstation 4.
2. Entries must be made before Tuesday, June 4th at 11 pm CDT.
3. Please use the following format for your entry:
PS4 Date:
PS4 Price:
XBone Date:
XBone Price:
4. With regard to price, please round up to the nearest whole dollar. For example, if you think the actual retail price will be $249.99, make your guess $250. All guesses that include cents will be rounded up for scoring purposes.
5. The entry closest to the correct answers in each of the four categories wins. For example, an entry that is $100 off the correct prices and 14 days off the correct dates will have a score of 114. That entry would outscore an entry that is $150 off the correct prices and 10 days off the correct dates, which scores 165. A theoretical perfect score that correctly predicts each of the four categories exactly would be zero. Lowest score wins.
6. In case of multiple SKUs available at launch, the price for purposes of determining a winner shall be the lowest priced SKU. For example, if Sony announces a $499.99 model and a $599.99 model as it did in 2006, the $499.99 price will be used determine the winner. (Note: this does not include any possible subsidized subscription deals.)
7. I will review the submissions and announce the winner after all relevant details for both consoles are confirmed by each company. (Hopefully it will be known by the end of E3).
8. The winner shall receive $25.00 U.S. dollars to start his or her XBone and/or PS4 savings account. I'll PM the winner for payout details.
9. The contest will close early in case of official confirmation of any or all of the four relevant details prior to the deadline of June 4th at 11 pm.
Good luck.
