It did (even though roms weren't that big of a deal without AR), but this is the high point of the whole series.

It's it's own thing - including some of the commands (gawd dammit why does brush sizes have to be brackets on everything else BUT this). I like its texture paper settings though and some of the mediums just feel/look better (but depending on what I want to use, I feel that way about Painter over PS too). It used to be my preferred sketching to start off with at least but I didn't go back to it as much after I got these Frenden brushes.

I'd just download the demo and try it out though. It has a lot to offer even though it looks like a very slimmed down program.

I'll give it a shot. I don't have an extra $500 lying around for Photoshop Mac anyways lol.

Also... you should look into GIMP. The program is 100% free, and it has addons to make it compatible with Photoshop's brushes and even to make it's UI look similar to photoshop (to ease transition)
 
The only thing that kind of bugs me about the Dream Suite so far is that I'd really like to run around in my own outfit still. Every video I've seen of it, people have always been in the same PJ's. Minor complaint though, will be using it a lot.

Best suggestion. Definitely look into GIMP if you cannot acquire Photoshop through whatever means.

Since the Wii can actually talk to the 3DS they should have allowed for the catalogue transfer option like they did with Wild World when Lets Go to the City came out.

Yeah, but having used it on Windows and Linux before, it seems a bit flaky. Maybe it's the fact I'm using single-window mode.

I was all excited about that but in the end it really was kind of pointless.

skip it and get sketchbook pro for mac.
There's a trial version for both artrage and sketchbook pro if I'm not mistaken.

All I use is SBP and Gimp. I stopped using Photoshop a few years ago.

I have to admit, back when it first released and I was younger and naive, that was my primary reason for getting it. Of course, once I actually played the game and discovered the awesomeness of it all, the NES games became a mere sidenote.

I'm looking forward to collection everything again, though.

Besides, City Folk WAS WW so it made sense there.
 
The first game for GCN for me was ENTIRELY for NES collection, I turned my island into an arcade and I "charged" my family bells to use my GBA link cable so they could visit it and play the games.



That said, I've played and enjoyed the sequels even without the NES games so there's that at least.

It was a pretty amazing hook, particularly in that era.

Does anyone know/remember the inspiration for the creation of AC? One of the few things I found were:

"Animal Crossing features three themes: family, friendship and community," says Eguchi of his celebrated work. "But the reason I wanted to investigate them was a result of being so lonely when I arrived in Kyoto! Chiba is east of Tokyo and quite a distance from Kyoto, and when I moved there I left my family and friends behind. In doing so, I realised that being close to them – being able to spend time with them, talk to them, play with them – was such a great, important thing. I wondered for a long time if there would be a way to recreate that feeling, and that was the impetus behind the original Animal Crossing."
