For the 3DS one, I'm hoping to play for maybe a few minutes in the morning before work, but I like playing for hours late in the evening. Is that a possibility this time around?
From a previous post, it is very much possible.
There are two main shops you'll care about. Re-Tail in your village and the Nookling store in Main Street. Re-Tail will always be 9am to 11pm. Early Bird makes it open at 6am, Night Owl makes it close at 2am.

Nookling is a different story. As you play, the shop upgrades through 5 different versions. The hours are different for each version of it. So I'll give you the hours for the first version and the last version,

Nookling Junction: 8am to 10pm. Early Bird: 6am, Night Owl: Midnight
T&T Emporium: 9am to 9pm. Early Bird: 6am, Night Owl: Midnight
What's the character limit on names in New Leaf?
8 for both the town and character name.

Question: I've been playing AC since the first US release, and while I love the series, I always found it difficult to stay with the game for a long time because the structure discouraged long play sessions, and the game required I log in at specific times, which is hard for someone as busy as I am. I also haven't played the Wii one, so if these issues have been solved, please let me know.

You can set city ordinances which essentially allow every store to either open 3 hours earlier or stay open 3 hours longer, giving you more time. It'd be best to spend your mornings where you won't have much time doing your fishing/digging/etc routines, then selling and doing all of your store stuff with extended evening hours. Probably what I'll end up doing as well.

Does anybody know why my 3DS profile wont go online when viewing my friends list? I can still send and receive swapnotes, but I can't add anyone...

Okay, what is the deal with this game? Is it just addictive to play or is it actually fun? I want a new 3DS game but I want to get a good experience that has a whole and complete story. For some uneducated reason my brain thinks the gameplay of 'Animal Crossing' with be similar to that of the late great 'Candy Crush.' Am I way off?

What kind of stuff? I thought sugary treats only came in wrappers

egg tarts, chinese new year cake, regular cakes, cookies, pies, and whatever else i can get a recipe and ingredients for.

i make taiyaki too but over a stove

i think the only non-sweets thing i've stuck in an oven were salmon and chicken

Nice. I'll make sure never to delete you ;o

lol no one ever uses it. I think it's great.

I've got you now Stoof.

edit: wonder if we should make making your GAF name your nickname or at least put it in the messages.
Thanks, and good idea, changed to my GAF name. Also I'm GMT -5 so I'm not too far away from -7.

Stoof, I've added you. I'm 2535-3788-8380
Added you back!

If anyone else wants to add my FC is 4897-5952-1916

The fancy stuff:p adding an egg to a premade mixture is the most cooking I've ever done

Finally done spending time on my entry for a facebook contest Nintendo is holding. Had to be finished by the end of today so here's what I managed to do before submitting it.

Without text.

With text and the actual entry.

Note: I do think Mother Brain turned out crappy.

Its a game about hobbies, simple as that. You can dabble in other parts of the game but you are not forced to do one thing. It is definitely not story driven so it might not be the type of game you are looking for.

Looks nice. It's a little hard to differentiate the foreground characters from the background though. Fox just blends into whatever the orange thing is in front of him.

So, my plan is to buy and download the game right at Midnight. I'll do the tutorialand then go to sleep so I can be up bright and early and begin the morning.

It'll be Sunday morning too, so Stalk Market!

I am really hoping I don't have work that day but I probably do :/

Yeah, transferring my 3DS to my XL took about an hour. My gamestop was super cool. They were having a special on trading the 3DS for the XL, and they let me buy the system at full, take it home, do the transfer, then come back and trade in the wiped 3DS for extra value.

Oh that's supposed to be Bowser's left arm but yeah. It's not as balanced as I would've liked it to be. I basically took some shortcuts so I didn't draw the entire character for most of them so moving them around much more wasn't really an option given the time I had. But yeah, it was some nice practice with my tablet I haven't really used yet.

What's the contest for? What do you win?

It takes that long to transfer?

Then again I had nothing in my Wii when I did Wii U transfer... still took an hour. I actually have games in my 3DS lol.

If I have a bunch of games on my SD card (bought a 32 GB SD card) and get the AC 3DS XL bundle, how exactly does it work not just transferring licenses (or however you word it, basically just transferring your "account" and your name, friend code, etc. over to your new 3DS game) but also getting New Leaf onto that SD card as well?

A trip to E3 for the winner and a guest. I think two people can win it. The point of it was to submit a still image (photos, drawings, photos of stuff you made)that represents you favorite Nintendo moment. Mine is supposed to basically mean the final battle at the end of the games (more of an excuse to draw several characters). I noticed some really odd entries and some I don't even think will be accepted because it looks like they pulled some random image from google search but yeah. I don't have high hopes for it. With my luck they'll probably choose photos over drawings and I'll just cry. lol j/k =p

It took me about 45 minutes to transfer my 3DS to the XL. I only had one game on there too -- Denpa Men.

I actually don't remember when you switch SD cards, but regardless, you'll have to redownload AC from the eshop.

I've got the default 2 gig SD card all filled up. Wonder how long it'll take me.

I'm following these randomass guides, says it's the last thing you do.

hmm what should I do with the 4 gig the poptart comes with? My camera could use a bigger SD card...
