Do we really think this is a possibility?
As of late, SE has released Bravery Default, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, DQ, KH3D all for Nintendo consoles, with the last two being the bigger Japanese franchises SE has.

DQVII - Yes it's pretty big, even for a remake. Although DQ has been with Nintendo nowadays so that's out of the question for the series to appear on a Sony console (unless PS4 overtakes 3DS).

KH3D - Even if the game is an interlude to KH3, it's treated as a relevant side title like Chain of Memories. It's not a big gun though. Birth by Sleep is probably the only new mainline KH this generation.

Bravely Default - Not big, more along the lines with Tactics Ogre, TWEWY, etc.

Well, Sony's gotta have an unprecedented partnership with someone..

MS has EA
Nintendo has Sega
Sony has ???

Ubi Soft?

Assassin's Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 had exclusive content in PS3.
Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation was exclusive to Vita. And could be another coming.
Assassin's Creed 4 and Watch Dogs will have exclusive content in PS4.
Rayman Legends will come to Vita too.

I think relationship between Ubi and Sony is quite strong now. But Sony needs something more.

Thats probably because the 3DS is beasting but none of those titles are SE's big guns (apart from a mainline DQ) . We all know a KH3 and FFXV will be coming to either ps3/4, the only thing missing is DQ. Its definitely a possibility as those two companies used to be real close and if the rumours are right that Sony is aiding SE on development of FFXV.

Yeah I guess so. I just find it odd that S-E will put some franchises on various platforms (KH/FF) but then keep others exclusive like DQ (and solely on Nintendo consoles)

I also don't see it likely that DQ will come to a Sony platform anytime soon.
Will be interesting to see what is announced from SE but I'm not optimistic.

Edit: I can see mainline FF to continue on Sony consoles but if I'm not mistaken even FF 13-2 was released on Xbox in Japan after the first one was exclusive.

Deep Down as a exclusive would be a personal megaton, Dragon's Dogma is the shit! I'll be disappointed if all this 3rd party exclusive talk just ends up with Versus.

Please no

Only the FF faithful gives a shit about FF nowadays

As if FF is S-E's only franchise.

Besides, if it's only the FF faithful who care about FF, then who are the other 3-4m who bought FF then?

I expect Ubi to play it safe tbh..unless of course MSony did some 'convincing'

You know, I still wonder what happened to Rayman Legends and how it became multiplatform last minute.

I see Ubisoft as the more likely candidate for something exclusive given they are open to new platforms and will release new IPs/spinoffs e.g AC Liberation and ZombiU

I think people are just quick to dismiss SE mainly due to their piss poor performance over this generation, which makes me doubt them aswell honestly. Im hoping to be wrong, but as a general rule I tend to not trust "insiders" so as far as I know games like Deep Down, Final Fantasy, KH3 could be Exclusive, multiplat, cross gen, or go to the Xbone for all I know.

I just hope all of the games Sony announces for PS4 during their conference are new announcements (even if the games exsist) So FFXV, FFXIV(PS3 account transferable) Stigs new game, Last Guardian, and some new stuff that no one knows about.

It does make you wonder what Sonys plan is, they have to spend some time with 3 Platforms, and have allot of ground to cover on PS4 features, services, etc. I have to wonder how much time that will leave for just straight PS4 games.

Deep Down is a Capcom developed title not Square Enix.

I did not say it was, but I have seen people commenting on possible exclusivty because of Ono meeting with Sony people recently, and Onos unwillingness to announce the Xbone version. I could believe CDPR dropping the Xbone version of Witcher 3 because of DRM bullshit before I would believe Capcom giving Sony an exclusive. Its possible they learned their lesson from the MH screw up though.

I think allot of the full on exclusive talk on both sides is alittle hard to believe, but im happy to be proven wrong and see some real competion in this area.

Just because people don't care about FFXIII doesn't mean the series over. Distant worlds concert here in montreal sold out and there was an applause 15 minutes for FF music. The company can make great RPGs.

FFXV exclusive is a HUGE deal.

FFXV exclusive is a HUGE deal.

Their output this gen says otherwise.

PS4 Versus is a weak announcement anyway, the game was announced 7 fucking years ago for the PS3 for crying out loud. I really hope they don't have a lot of focus on it, like it's a big deal that they finally got their heads out of their asses and actually made progress with the project after a whole generation of neglectance.

I rather have them focusing on new games and surprises at E3 this year, that's all.

Versus will be and is a big deal. It may have taken them much longer than anyone expected, but it's still Final Fantasy and many view it as having the potential to be a return to form for the franchise. Which is why it wouldn't be at all shocking if they did unveil it as FFXV.

Then why did they kept Lost Planet 1 as X360 exclusive for two years?

Anything can happen at the first few years of a console cycle.

360 predated PS3 by a year, and modern Capcom isn't exactly known to shower PlayStation platforms with exclusive support.

Well, they've already announced Basara 4 as a PS4 exclusive. And despite MS getting co-marketing with Dragon's Dogma due to RE6 being attached to it, Sony Japan actually worked with Capcom quite a bit to promote it. They even co-hosted a Play Community (Sony Japan's version of the PSblog) together for DD:DA.

SB4 is for PS3, and SCEJ co-promotes pretty much every big game on their platforms.

Versus will probably be more interesting than anything else they have anyway.

Deep Down is not PS4 exclusive. C'mon, this is Capcom.

yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually timed exclusive for xbox one, just to say fuck you to Sony. remember monster hunter? they have monster hunter demo at psvita unveil then the whole franchise end up exclusive to 3ds.

same thing could happen with deep down. just you wait. :P

In addition to a deal with MS, because the PS3 was released 1 year after it, and they needed time to make the port, which was hard to make because how difficult was to develop for PS3.

In the other side, Dead Rising 1 remains exclusive, and Dead Rising 2 was released incomplete in PS3 because its first and last chapters (which were paid DLC) are exclusive too.

do I stay up until 2am reading the fallout from the MS conference and preparing for the Sony one? or do I wait until Tuesday morning and watch both back to back?

will both Sony and MS be making their streams available afterwards in better quality?

I'm assuming GAF will be down.

Watching conferences live with gaf is half the fun. :p The Sony conference is 3am here but I'm gonna go sleep around 10-11pm and set the alarm. This is one E3 you don't want to miss live.

I'm getting a bit "worried" at this point about PS4. A lot of rumors going on about Microsoft and 3rd party developers and exclusives. I guess Sony just doesn't have the cash to compete at the same level. Games like Mirror's Edge 2 (and other big games hinted) being exclusive is a huge thing (for me at least it is for ME2).

Anyhow, my big hope is a re-reveal for the Last Guardian. I'd really love to see this game being re-launched and coming "soon". That would be awesome.

most of the rumors are speculations from Xbox evangelists due to lack of games
