uh, that just sounds like The Last of Us. ND has two teams.

Of course, but I just found it interesting that they're bothered by being known as that studio that makes Uncharted. Especially since they've made many other successful series before Uncharted. But I guess E3 could answer what they're working on. While i'm definitely on the side of wanting a new Uncharted, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Amy start a new IP.

Sony really REALLY needs to bring the third party love this E3.
Everyone knows that the first party will be there.
We have seen it, they have seen it and we know who they are and we know what they do and we know the names and the characters and that they will be locks.
It is like Nintendo showing Mario or Link.
We know that they will be there but they will not sway the consumers in a console war.
People need to see that the third parties are here, and that they will be here otherwise it is no better than the Wii U with better hardware and more self respect.
SO here is hoping that they have learned this.

I don't necessarily agree with this. Because the third party support WILL be there. Sure, there might be some exclusives/timed exclusives that Sony (or Microsoft) will score, but by and large, the third party cannot ignore the PS4. No amount of money hatting that Microsoft might do will make up for the lost of sales if a series goes exclusive (there are exceptions of course).

So yeah, Sony should show that they have third party support, but I don't think they need to go out of their way to bring the third party love for PS4 @ E3.

Now if we were talking about the VITA, that's an entirely different thing altogether!

I dont know why fans of FFXIII think hating on other games will make their own game seem better.

It's just making everyone more pissed at not only the fanbase but the XIII games.

Most but not all XIII fans are ultra aggressive.I think they are fighting the hate with hate. Also most of them seem to be against versus and hate on it.

I think thats what Last of Us is for though :P Thats their 'look what else we can do' game, while their second team works on their biggest franchise :)

I love Uncharted, but it felt like it was tired and hit a brick wall by the third iteration - like so many franchises this generation.

It needs to rest. And ND need to come back with more than just Uncharted with fancier graphics next-gen, if they are going to continue the franchise.

I'm struggling to get excited about seeing Drake on yet another outing. It's like Indiana Jones - three were enough and they should have left it there.

True, but i rather have this game in 2015 or 2016. Maybe they should expand even more to three teams, one does Uncharted, one does new IP's and the other does Last of Us/other ND IP's.

Just some ideas... i know they always try new IP's, but i think Uncharted it's just too good of a franchise to let it go like this.
There will definitely be an Uncharted 4. No way they abandon their most successful IP to date. Though I also want something new from them. Guess I'm greedy.

Forget about how big Uncharted is for Naughty Dog. It's probably SCE's 2nd biggest IP after Gran Turismo. There's zero chance they aren't making UC4. Might as well say Nintendo should abandon Zelda.

In an ideal world, this is how it should work:

2014: New Naughty Dog Franchise for PS4
2015 (Early): Uncharted 4
2015 (Late): TLOU 2

By the end of the next-gen ND are going to need at least 5 teams to keep everybody happy.

I'm completely torn on it though. On the one hand I really want a new Uncharted ND at some point, but I'd also like them to try something new, then I have the feeling that after TLoU I'd probably really want some more of that as well.

I thought Naughty Dog's previous strategy was perfect.

-New franchise
-Two Sequels
-Kart Racer
-Move on to bigger and better things

I love the Uncharted games, but I'd rather see ND explore new ground instead. Maybe they could pass off the IP to someone else.

Don't want another Uncharted right now (or next year). Give me something original ND.

I'd be happy if ND never released another Uncharted. I love the series, but I don't want it run into the ground. TLOU looks really really good, and it's nice to see ND can create a new, interesting IP like that. I'd like to see more original content from ND.

Seeing ND become the next Bungie/343 in regards to only making Halo would be unfortunate.

I want another one, I really hope its more like 3 than 2 as well.

I really liked U3, but U2 was the better game in every way. But to each their own.

Naughty Dog Battle Royale.

I don't think ND can go wrong with any of the following scenarios

1. The other team is doing the next Uncharted, and the TLOU will make a new IP or continue TLOU for next gen

2. The other team is doing a new IP and the TLOU will do the next Uncharted

3. Both teams will do new IPs

I personally see either 1st or 2nd scenario happening than the third. I love that sony pushes so many new IPs every gen, which is a reason why I love playstation. But Uncharted franchise is a great franchise. It's also one of their most successful franchises ever.

Don't hold your breath. Balestra was in Paris recently and gave a 2 hours interview session in which one of the guys in the public asked him about a possible J&D similarly themed title; Balestra, while not totally dismissing such a venture in some futur time, insisted that the probabilty of it was quite low. He did however almost blush, presenting a smiling face, when faced with a query on their presence at the E3 conference.
I think that an Uncharted is the works...

I'm no insider, just conjecture.
Oh, I forgot, in another interview he gave in Paris on the Last of Us, the journalist evoked the case of some"mysterious characters on the screen of an ND artist (I don't know what he was talking about). Balestra threw a very calibrated answer, justifying it by the fact that artists at ND are always researching new concepts, trying different stuff...you know, the kind of reply you would expect from a guy not willing to talk about projects still unannounced.
If I were to make a guess, I'd say we could have an Uncharted with the original Sir Drake.

I believe the models were seen on an TLOU dev video.

I could believe we might see a short trailer for a new Uncharted game, similar to the teaser they debuted U3 with at the VGAs. It would show that the franchise still exists, is coming to PS4 and hey! Look how pretty the engine looks in this series of 2 second clips! Please be excited. And it would work too.

However, I do think they need to rest the series and re-invent it in a year or two if it's to retain it's top drawer status. U3 was damn good but there were some cracks in the overall game design and mechanics that need to be sorted out before any new Uncharted game.

Do I think they'll show it? On balance, no, but I wouldn't put it past them. The temptation to have something Uncharted on-stage must be powerful.

Hm, I wished there were some rumours for ps4 3rd-party exclusives, but FF is the only one atm and it was even announced at the ps-meeting.
MS seems to have thrown a lot of money on 3rd-partys again for exclusives if the rumours are true.

They totally need it because their console itself and their policies are so bad and probably only many big exclusives can make it a success, but still I would have hoped Sony would do a bit more with 3rd-partys than exclusive DLC.

The Xbone will be a success. Used games and always-online aren't issues the wider-public care about. Maybe you and your friend, and your friend's friend are up in arms about it, but the public don't care. Or they wouldn't be setting pre-order records for the Xbone.

I have no doubt the Xbone will sell like hotcakes. All of this 'Sony is in the driving seat, bla bla bla' stuff is simply not true to people who don't frequent GAF and the like.

We won't even know just how much better games will look on the PS4 than the Xbone, if at all.

That was more circumstance than choice. They lost the rights to Crash and ended up making Jak & Daxter instead. Gavin and Rubin left the company around the time PS3 was launching and the company's direction shifted away from mascot platformers.

Dammit everytime I start getting excited for E3 some news comes out that stomps my hype. Hopefully Sony can turn things around, because its kind of looking hard to picture investing in a platform that may only be around for a short time.

Public at large aren't even aware of those issues.

I would love if Naughty dog make something like Mass Effect or Fallouts and SSM make something like the Witcher 2 or Crysis. I know those aren't really their genre of choice but it would be intersting.

The stuff is really confusing to me, but all this talk of Sony splitting the company up has me concerned about the PS4. I dont know much about what it all means, but the way its been explained so far does not make it sound so great at the moment.

I want the PS4 to be a success because its the only console I have an interest in, but like I said the talk about the divisions being split up is above my head, but makes it sound abit worrying.

Need more RPGs from SCEWWS. Even if they're pseudo-RPGs like Mass Effect.
