I don't know why but my wife and I love Nintendo Directs. Something with how Iwata talks.
Hot.

Didn't all that nonsense get the other thread closed? Let's not derail this thread into people begging to be photoshopped in a stupid picture.
To me its main problem is it takes every small issue of Banjo-Kazooie had and dials it up to an insane degree. Way too large worlds, literally a thousand collectables per one, it reuses a ton of cut-Banjo content, even more redundant new Kongs and doesn't have much in common with previous DKC games... I think a 3D DK game that mixed elements of DKC's atmosphere and exploration and Jungle Beat's action/combo system could be awesome if handled right, but in regards to DK64 besides being 3D, having Donkey Kong charactersI actually wouldn't mind a sequel to DK64. I must be one of the few that liked the game. Would be neat if Retro was working on that.
Watch this. If you don't get hyped you get a refund.

The next three weeks will be awesome!
All the podcasts/shows will be talking E3 next week.
Then the glory and pain of E3.
Then all the E3 review/fallout/reaction
Hooray!
And this guy

The meltdowns are going to be great. This will be my first GAF E3.
The games should be almost as good.
Well Iwata is Japanese. His english aint all thathe sounds like he is talking to slow people.
This is the company that spent 25 minutes talking about about Arkham City on stage a year after it came out. I fully expect this direct to have around 15 minutes of new stuff (3D mario, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Retro) and 45 minutes of everything we've already seen.

Considering people thought the Gamepad was the whole Wii U despite him specifically saying it was just the controller, I can't blame him
Nice, they are showing Bayonetta.

Someone break down the time allocation for the following:
1) Open with Super Mario WiiU, much like how they opened with Skyward Sword one E3
2) On the topic of Mario, transition to Mario Kart WiiU
3) Still on a Mario-related note, transition to Yarn Yoshi for WiiU
4) On the topic of Yoshi, transition to Yoshi's Island for 3DS
5) Continuing the 3DS, transition to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2
6) Still on the topic of Zelda, proceed to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
7) Proceed to another fall WiiU title, namely The Wonderful 101
8) Still on the topic of Platinum Games, transition to Bayonetta 2
9) On the note of third-party collaboration, go to SMT x Fire Emblem (unlikely, but still)
10) On the note of epic RPGs, transition to Monolith Soft's X (and 3DS title, why not)
11) Touch on story-driven games for NA: Bravely Default, Layton vs. AA, MonHun 4
12) Highlight major RPGs Pokémon X and Pokémon Y (first simultaneous global launch)
13) Focus on expanded audience: Wii Fit U, Wii Party U, Wii Sports U
14) Return to "core" and drop the Treasure 3DS project Bob-omb
15) Then drop the Retro Studios WiiU project Bob-omb
16) Reggie: "One more thing" -- SUPER SMASH BROS. 4
But the direct focuses on the Wii U, not both systems.

There's a silhouette for a 3DS game though.
I really, really hope that there are more surprises than what Retro has been making. I feel like I know everything they're gonna show off. :/
No, what got the other thread closed was all the "insiders" that kept saying they had inside info.
If the gifs got the thread closed than the Sony E3 thread would also be closed.
maybe last month's direct was like the 3DS E3 Direct? Because they announced Zelda, and the media had an event where they could play it right after.I'm still not sure about that. "See future Wii U games" doesn't mean "only that" imo.
Lol, reggie plzIt's better than Reggie's.

Hope they show something about SMT X FE, just a few screens or something.
I have the feeling that if Wii U had had a better launch, then Yarn Yoshi, Wind Waker HD, and X were going to be the "more" surprises.
Since E3 2012, Nintendo has used Nintendo Direct to announce Yarn Yoshi, X, Wind Waker HD, Wii U Party, Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 2, Sonic Lost World, Mario & Sonic at the Whatever Olympics, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Mario Golf: World Tour, Mario Party 3DS, New Super Luigi U, Link to the Past 2, Yoshi's Island 3DS, Pokemon X/Y, and probably like more than half a dozen eShop titles.
In the past, most of those games would have been saved for a major event like E3 or a Nintendo fall event, or sparingly sprinkled throughout the year in Famitsu.
Now, Nintendo's throwing them out there because they have to. Expecting any Wii U "surprises" other than the formal unveiling of Mario, MK, and Smash, and maybe Retro's game is expecting a bit much because Nintendo has more or less shown most of their E3 hand months early out of necessity.
Yes of course, I was just saying maybe 3DS might not even get mentioned during the direct. Kind of like Sony last year treating the Vita like it didn't exist, only to have a lot of games on the floor.Even if they don't have an actual event, they'll still have a ton of 3DS stuff on the show floor. Nintendo didn't rent out extra floor space for no reason, they felt like they needed it for all they have to show this year, and that alone makes me hyped.

looks like mario is wearing a backpack ?
No, it's his hand. Look earlier in the thread. It's just art from Mario Galaxy.

*Sigh*I wouldn't hold my breath. The trailer they announced it with was more like a shitty slideshow with a few sentences written in Paint. They're probably very early in development.
And Atlus still has to beg for more money/time to model/redraw all those demons!
Stuff like Bayonetta 2 and Project X I'll give you were probably intended to be surprise announcements at E3, but some of that other stuff such as DKCR3D which is already out and the Sonic games which SEGA always shows off their stuff before E3 probably wasn't. Both Yoshi games also looked to be in such early development (especially the 3DS one) that unless they look dramatically different at E3 I sort of feel like originally they weren't even meant to be revealed until next year.I have the feeling that if Wii U had had a better launch, then Yarn Yoshi, Wind Waker HD, and X were going to be the "more" surprises.
