Preordering on Amazon usually means you don't get it launch day doesn't it? Since they won't ship before the date it releases? I'd rather wait in line at Walmart, but there will probably be a shit load of scalpers.

I'm not sure. I'd like to get a shooter at launch but none of those franchises are extremely interesting to me. I hate Cod so that out; I feel like I'd just get my ass kicked forever in BattleField and Killzone isn't that interesting. I thought 2 was ok, I didn't play 3 and I don't know if I want to get back into it.

It'll likely have release day delivery offered. I love Amazon. Will prouder mine there and at the Best Buy

Okay guys, 9 Days to go. Thought I'd come up with a list of 10 topics (one per day) we can all post about until E3 gets here.

#10 is here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=60329837&postcount=6982

Basically, what your favorite 'thing' from the February 20 Playstation Meeting?

This would include:
-Knack
-Killzone: Shadow Fall
-Driveclub
-inFamous: Second Son
-The Witness
-deep down
-Agni's Philosophy tech demo
-Watch Dogs
-Diablo III
-Destiny
-Media Molecule creative/tech demo
-Quantic Dream old man tech demo

You can also answer with any other announcements like 8GB GDDR5, Share/Stream, suspend/resume, play as you download, new controller, etc.

Pick only 1 thing.

Not on the list but I'm going with Cerny and the entire hardware breakdown. I felt like Sony really acknowledged the problems with PS3 and Cell, gave a very informative hardware breakdown, the 8gb GDRR5 megaton, and basically positioned the PS4 as a very developer and consumer friendly platform.

Yes, the game was Eight Days.

Kind of weird how everyone clamored over the graphics at the time, only to have an actual gameplay from titles such as Killzone: SF to blow it out of the water.

Only going to look better with more polish and if they tweak it some to use the additional ram revealed in February:) I'm really interested in hearing more about the indie titles that will be available at launch. I'll probably end up getting a few of those and maybe a title that hasn't been revealed yet.

PlayStation Ethos.

Video gave me chills like every other Sony montage, and got me real nostalgic seeing older ads such as the Ratchet and Clank one and gameplay of San Andreas.

Amazon does have release day delivery. Chances are the release will fall on a weekday, and I'll be at work all day anyway. Might as well pick it up when I get home. :P

I am just saying GG is very talented. It will probably look better than the next Halo (runs away)

Well yeah, the PS4 is easily the more powerful console. I'd expect most Sony first party titles to look much better than the x-bones and 3rd party ports to run better. Halo is on a downward slide now that Bungie is off the project from what I've heard from fans after 4.

Hardware wise, the 8gb GDDR5.

And software wise, the deep down tech demo (i was really surprised by the fire).

4 was a complete spin-off in terms of gameplay from previous games. Multiplayer felt too much like CoD to me and less tactical than Halo 3 was.

So aside from Square Enix, do we think we'll see anymore of the Japanese contingent at E3?

Looking back at that developer list, there is a lot of Japanese developers with a dev kit atleast.

And Mojang being taken off the PS4 list afterwards (along with Vlambeer) almost certainly means Minecraft on Vita.

After KZ3 I'm not even convinced of that.

KZ3's multiplayer could've been good with better map design... but not a single map on that game was fair and balanced. Some of the maps in particular made absolutely no sense at all for a multiplayer experience, much less game experience.

The one map that KZ3 brought over from KZ2, and then differentiated by setting it in daytime instead of night, should've been good since KZ2's map designs were godly, but then the new spawn point system in KZ3 totally managed to fuck it all up by setting spawn points way too close to opposition bases. That managed to unbalance a map that was the most balanced of all in KZ2. It proved that the spawn grenades, in hindsight, were actually more flexible and dynamic because you could always find a way to spawn behind enemy position and force a rebalancing of game situations.

KZ3 tried to steal Battlefield's gun play, but KZ2's gunplay was better, and all KZ3 really had to steal was the ability to spawn on squad leaders. Being able to spawn on squad leaders provides even more flexibility and dynamism than the spawn grenades... squad leaders would be like moving spawn grenades that can protect you.

I really hope that by bringing back KZ2's lead multiplayer director, Shadow Fall has a chance to reclaim KZ2's cult multiplayer following.

this is very true. The map design in KZ3 is absolutely horrible

KZ2 already had this. Like a lot of great things in that game, it was dropped for no reason in KZ3.

I just played some KZ2 multi last night and it was still as good as ever. Lots of people playing. Not a ghost town like KZ3.

Well looking at this. I mean will they have titles at TGS probably?

Yeah, well Konami and Capcom will be there, and oh god I can't wait to see what they'll all show.

They're releasing a new IP in two weeks. With two teams they can mix up new IPs and still do Uncharted. They've said that they usually move on when they want to do something else but they still have drive and ideas to make Uncharted.

EDIT: Double post NOOOOO

Oh, ok. Cool deal then. To be honest TLoU is the reason that I asked. The demo was really interesting.

I really can't wait to see more Killzone at E3, potentially improved with the surprise specs-jump of the PS4.

Guys I just had a horrible thought. What if Sony blows everyone away and then when it comes time for the final word:

House: "As you can see from what we've shown you today, Playstation is poised to be the forefront of video game entertainment. As for the price of the PS4..."

All of GAF hangs on to the very edge of their seats in bated breath.

"We cannot share today but join us at Gamescom in Germany for more PS4 news. Thank you."

D:

You're right, I totally forgot that KZ2 did allow you to spawn off a squad leader. It was why, if I knew a really good sniper, I'd have him be the squad leader and just hide during the critical moments of a mission while diverting attention elsewhere with a spawn grenade.

Man, KZ2 was just so fucking sweet and tactical like that. I even learned to love the rocket spammers because unless they were good with the Revolver too, I could just pick them apart from mid-range to long distance lol.

Playing Killzone 3 with it looking so good and that huge mushroom cloud in the background felt so good, so I can't imagine how insane this is gonna be. Can't wait for the multiplayer either. I wish BF4 wasn't releasing this year too, cause I don't know what to do lol.

a lot of people still play KZ3 and I am one of them :P But yea the matches are usually one sided, with one team completely dominating the other thanks to the shitacular map design

sadly I lost my KZ2 disc :(
