Ok, thing with verendus is that he has a very nonchalant attitude about all of this. He isn't overhyping anything, he just comes in a thread drops some vague info and leaves. Just yesterday in the amazon thread he said something about spilling more info on FFVersus13 after e3. He knows he will be banned if he lied, but he was very positive in that post. Therefore I believe him.

Nier is an action game, much more inline with Zelda, and Valkyria Chronicles is a strategy game, as is Disgaea.
Yeah, at first I thought Sony would go with an Android OS since they seem to want this console to be like a smartphone and with Steam box and android gaming platforms being made left and right, I was surprised they went with a BSD OS, I don't know how that will turn out.
You should read Zeal's old posts, he had practically the same attitude.
This is getting really tiresome though. Do we discuss this like every day? Pretty much everything that's been said about this game has been beaten like a dead horse and we're at almost a week till E3. We've been at this a million times, I'm not in the mood to discuss the validity of anything anymore until we get something that's actually concrete.
They're all RPGs, even Nier. SRPGs count.

That's really one of the best parts of E3. Unfortunately, the servers probably won't be able to handle it.
They had better start now to deal with the demand that will exist this fall.

But like I said, don't feel like going through this anymore...
If you're going to be that specific, the PS3 and PS4 will both end up looking like they have very few worthwhile JRPGs
I think all types of JRPGs are fair game, and I don't think JRPG fans are going to scoff at games like or similar to Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea, or Nier when taking a look at JRPGs in both libraries.MrBambinoDent

I would actually be excited if this were true, although I'm not sure I believe it. In my opinion, the turn-based battle system of FFX was Final Fantasy combat at its best. I'd prefer them not to compromise on strategic depth of the battle system just for the sake of making it more "action" focused. That being said, if they did opt for a more traditional battle system, I'm sure it would be something new and exciting. Final Fantasy games tend not to use the same combat systems twice.

But then the Xbone game demos won't look so good.
Anyways, I've said it a few times, but the talk of Versus becoming XV has me worried for one thing, that it will mean the end of command based Final Fantasy. I was totally down with an ARPG within Final Fantasy trappings because it was a spin-off, or companion title, a contrast. But with LR supposedly actionifying XIII's command battles and now Versus probably becoming the next mainline title I find it hard to see them not going forward with an arpg battle system in future.
