Finally, after a week and a half of only being able to briefly surf Neogaf on my phone because of a move to a new place and work I was able to catch up on this thread. Little disappointed there haven't been more new GIFs during my hiatus.

The greatest video game ever made :')

VI > VII

Neither game, despite the former being one of my personal favorites, is the greatest game ever made.

IX > all FF.

Imo it doesn't hold up... I loved it at the time... but the load times getting in and out of battles make it almost unplayable for me these days.

I like XII better anyway, but this is just another reason... will probably hold up much longer since it's all realtime.

(I understand if loadtimes aren't an issue for others, they just happen to be for me)

Great little monatge from sony during the break from the football match england brazil there tHE LAST OF US sPLINTER CELL AND BEYOND NEVER A BETTER TIME TO OWN A ps3.

What I really like about the way Sony handles these events (just as they did with the PS Meeting) is the amount of devs from all over the world.

From the PS Meeting alone there were Dutch, British, French, French-Canadien(xD), Japanese, American, etc. devs and I think that speaks to how much diverse the Playstation platforms are and how worldwide and far-reaching the PS4 will be. Contrast that with the Xbone reveal.

And I expect the same things from E3 to continue.

Bring it on, PS4!

I really hope Sony locked up Final Fantasy as exclusives, if only because they'd be able to target the most powerful platform and not have to compromise their vision.

All I really want from the conference from a games standpoint is some sort of signal that the PS4 isn't going to take half a generation to get going on the JRPG front. The PS3 was a mess in that area. Sony let Nintendo and MS scoop up several key JRPG's while the PS3 was pretty much left with nothing for some time. Things have gotten a lot better for it in recent years (and a lot worse for the other two), but the weak start was really annoying. Simply having a FF confirmed isn't enough. The PS3 had that and look at what went on there.

really smart on MS' part
i don't think PS3 ever really recover from it
i can count the truly satisfying RPG on PS3 with like 1 finger
happy that the company that made it is already working on a PS4 game
so that's a start

FFVII is the GOAT in my house!

You can try to come over and argue otherwise, but I would just be trying to pee on you out the window.

I agree 100%

Followed by Super Mario Bros 3, Star Fox 64, Yoshi's island and Gran Turismo 3

Those are my top 5 favourite games of all time.

I do hope the PS4 comes out with at least an RPG or diversity at launch period. Most of Sony's ps3 launch-to-mid cycle was nothing but shooters from first parties. Nothing to combat with mass effect or open world. Infamous was open but still during the time when sucker punch was still 2nd party.

I hope Sony has Level 5 and maybe some of their own from SCEJ brewing up some JRPG goodness for us. Although I would expect that we'd hear more of that during TGS time.

Hey guys lets have a discussion of which Sony E3 press conference intro did we like the best and which the least, also give a reason/s for your choice
Note: Only the E3 intros may be used no intros from any other pressers like gamescom, ps meetings, etc... (but you may these in a bonus pick for overall fav intro)

MY PICKS

Best: Sony E3 2008 opening

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ-zQsyCEKE

(due to the music picks and overall blend between effects and music Ex. the Old Snake bit... it just felt like Sony reclaiming a gamers focus with this one)

Least: Sony E3 2012 opening

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2C5APU19KaA

(since the music was all over the place even though the effects with the screens where pretty cool)

Bonus Mention: Gamescom 2012 intro

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUdZ-vTi6vA

(Best for me even though it wasn't from E3... perfect music mix with games and the whole world image gave a sense of Sony's world wide studious)
