Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Was considering getting Disgaea 3 and then saw it was €40. Not a hope I'm paying that.

Are Afternoon of Darkness or Infinity any good?

Afternoon is good, it's D1 on PSP and extras. Infinity is something else, was it a VN style? I don't remember but I haven't played it myself. Dark Hero Days is also good, that's D2... on PSP and extras.

Actually regarding Vita D3, it's actually the definitive version since it has all the DLC and it looks better than PS3 version due to smaller screen. (there were complains about how it looked blurry on PS3)

Yay, new thread!

I've been so busy with stuff lately that I haven't had time to pick up my Vita. I think I need to shuffle around my library so I can play something else from my backlog.

Probably Atelier Totori. (Just watched Fruits Basket recently. I'm thinking it's a good match, no?)

With FFIV now released on Android (the 3D version, same as iOS I think) I got a bit tempted. But then I recalled the PSP versions and wondered which was recommended. Anyone got any experience with both?

oh and anyone else having problems accessing the store?

We have a flood right now in germany and I have to scoop out water with baskets every 15 minutes so that it can't get into my cellar. The Vita is just perfect for short gaming sessions in between.

I would like to know the same.

I think I prefer the visuals of the 3d version but I dont know if one is known to be particularly better. 2d complete collection on vita or 3d version on nexus 7 with bigger screen.

Urgh, I also feel like trying it on android (No! SE I'm not falling for it... FFIV is my favourite one) however I still think PSP version is superior, redrawn 2D vs chibi 3D.

After that Sony will obviously partner up with Tencent to port Monster Hunter Online to Vita.

on a serious note (since they still in the MonHun clones strategy), Attack on Titan is super popular now, they should secure the right to that and make a MonHun game.

I wish they were releasing that Castle of Illusion game instead. I imagine it'd look great on the Vita's screen.

SEGA and Disney.. so no chance for Vita.

Yeah I think in the end it might boil down to what visual preferences one has. I'm neither partial to 3D or 2D in this case. It could also be pay a bit more and get more game out of it (FFIV Complete). But I recall hearing about some differences in the 3D vs 2D versions, need someone to shed some light on that.
I had FFIV on UMD and psp version was very nice.

Haven't tested android version for comparision.
I think it's also the same as the DS version, if that matters.

The visuals certainly arn't the deciding factor unless thats all there is. I mean complete has the expansions doesn't? however I hardly have time to complete any game these days anyway lol. But I thought I read somewhere that the 3ds version (android is a port of this isnt it?) was harder and he psp one had been made easier?

although I don't know so hopefully someone can clear it up for me.

Yeah, Infinite is the visual novel. Fun, for about an hour. It's based on one of those time-loop deals, where you repeat things over and over.

And the trouble with D2 on the Vita is that the DLC doesn't work. Not that there was a lot of if, the extra scenario/mode was in the game itself, but you are missing out on a handful of characters if you play it on the Vita.

Didn't know that. Thanks.

Coconut Dodge Revitalised is out this week in Europe (Free on PS+!)

Is your brain melting from all of the FuturLab awesomeness like mine is? :D

some e3 spoilers?

I just did a check under Vita categories on the E3 website and found the following.

Playstation Vita - 3D Development

Rebellion - Makers of the Sniper games, and yes there were rumours about a sniper game on the Vita before.
Virtuos Games - Did Ghost Recon for the PSP and a bunch of other PSP games. Was well known for their Civilization games for consoles and handhelds.

Playstation Vita - Accessories - Yep, so many accessories shown. Perhaps a modified Vita is on the way.

Playstation Vita - Action

Aksys - Also in localisation section. Aksys has stated that two new games will be announced.
ATLUS
Rebellion - They are listed in a dozen Vita categories, so I will stop repeating them.
xSEED

Playstation Vita - Arcade

Rebellion - Again, and they also have a slot in Adventure.
WIT Entertainment - A wholesale game distributor also listed in distributors

And the others:

Vita Audio and Sound - ASTRO Gaming / Skullcandy - I guess some headsets
Vita Audio and Sound - Monoprice
InComm is listed under several, such as casual gaming. They do virtual currency.
Vita Localization - Pole to Win
Vita Localisation - Digital HEARTS
Vita Distribution - Bigben Interactive, or listed under racing.
Vita Distribution - BBR-1 America
Vita Distribution - KEMCO
Vita Distribution - Mecca Electronics
Vita Strategy - BradyGames - They make strategy guides, so I guess they have some for Vita, or a strategy App.
Vita RPG - Tecmo Koei America Corporation - Probably Atelier Meruru
Vita RPG - Deep Silver, Inc. - Did Mytran Wars for PSP and Sacred Citadel recently
Vita RPG - aksys
Vita RPG - xSEED

Link below will let me you research yourself. Also, check in as more studios are registered.

Maybe Virtuos is making that Rainbow Six game ...

why sony is porting epic mickey 2 and not disney infinity is beyond me

i guess we'll get the disney infinity port right when all the toys are on clearance

I have a feeling we might be getting borderlands this year and a GTA vita game is inevitable.

AC and COD were two of the most notable titles that sold remarkably well in 2012 and Sony was able to secure exclusive iterations for the vita (albeit their quality was questionable). Borderlands was up there as well and with the high demand last year for a vita borderlands, and this,

Yeah, MS scooped up League.

There's some interesting ports coming but no megatons that I know that are new games. Except the shahid game, whatever the hell that is... no one I know has any clue what he is talking about. And who knows, he may have made that tweet an hour after inking a deal and we may see nothing on the game for a year.

I think the port might be borderlands 2.

I also think Sony is trying to invest in franchises that were big this gen so IMO a GTA vita game might be in the works and would probably debut in 2014. By then the PS360 current gen will start to wind down and the vita game might also launch simultaneously on the PS360 which will be the last GTA hurrah to this gen.

That post by Takao got me interested, man I can't really wait for E3.

On another news I might get finally a Case for my Vita tomorrow or Wednesday.

Yeah the expansion is quite appealing to me, but playing on my bigger Nexus 7 screen is also quite nice. We need someone with knowledge, stat!

Through process of elimination I have to imagine the Aksys game is Demon Gaze. Holy Sorcery Story looks like a NISA title, Tales of Vita remakes are off limits, and it's too soon for Mind/Zero, and that new 3DS/PSV RPG from the Unchained Blades peeps.

The Atlus game is likely Dragon's Crown, with the XSEED title being a tossup between Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, Ys IV, and Valhalla Knights 3.

Sniper Elite V2 wasn't amazing but it was dumb fun, so I'd welcome a similar game on Vita (especially if it had co-op).

I also guess Rainbow Six Vita is an almost definite, then.

Looks like Vita hype is raising again. I havnt been paying any attention of my vita since my son arrived but having a loot here today is giving me hope. Would love FTL and Xcom on my Vita.

Also any one know when Hotline Miami and Frozen Synapse are due for release?

I am not really interested in main consoles at the moment and as I was kinda not using my vita the past month my E3 hype has been pretty minimal but its slowly rising now. Might actually be some nice announcements.

So Warriors Lair is listed on the E3 Insider site (along with The Last Guardian)

http://www.e3insider.com/exhibitor/...ca/#!/exhibitor/view/182/warriors-lair/29584/

Could we actually expect this or what was the latest update on it?

Really hope so, I want that game so bad - just a good dungeon crawler on Vita in general really. It had a lot of promise, makes no sense why that goes into development hell while SCEJ keeps burning money over The Last Guardian

If only those localizations could include Shinovi Versus/Holy Sorcerer Story/Demon Gaze.

I would LOSE it if any of those were confirmed, especially Shinovi Versus.

Could theoretically be Labyrinth Cross Blood or Conception II, though I agree that DG is the most likely suspect. But then, Aksys said they'd have two titles to announce (in addition to a mobile title which is probably 999 iOS), so who knows, we might get lucky.

Also any one know when Hotline Miami and Frozen Synapse are due for release?
Hotline - as soon as it passes certification (so it could be next week for all we know).
