Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Which troll? Cause from where I'm sitting, Uncharted 2 is still the worst of the bunch while Uncharted 3 is near or equal to the best put forth from that series. :P

Wake Up Club. And Treasure Park. And the Gift Box one. And Flying Hamster HD. And Rolling Octopus HD. And Velocity Ultra. And Frobisher Says. And the Frobisher Says DLC. And beyond all that, it could very well be the reason the NA store sucks for PSOne compared to EU/JP. :P

When I contacted the developers/publishers of Flying Hamster HD, I was told on 3/20 that the game should be out in the beginning of May. May has come and gone. Why is it still having problems if it's already working and released in Europe?
I've just emailed them back again to find out.

Odd that SCEA thought R&C FFA was fit for release but apparently Flying Hamster HD and Velocity Ultra aren't. Weird world we live in.

Bought the Disgaea PSP port. Figure that I've got a road trip coming up and that playing that will be fun on the trip for a little bit.

Oh dang, 20K traveled with your Vita?

I think the farthest I've traveled with my Vita was to Honolulu (from Chicago) but couldn't bother playing around with NEAR while I was over there.

Yeah, to southeast China (Changshu) and back to spend time with my wife's family :) Flight SUCKED but the culture+food there is absolutely amazing. Best noodles I've had in my entire life :))

Don't feed the troll.

Seriously, "ignore Toto by all costs" should be in the OP.
.

it's called opinion, see this post

opinions, what a wonderful magical thing to have.

and I can post why I think Uncharted 3 is a bad game and why I think ND 2nd team is not as good or should why it should try other games than Uncharted, but it's really not the thread for that discussion.

However back to my point on the Vita ports and ND, as far I as know ND used some weird coding/programming language on PS2(I think I read that somewhere), that why I think their own team should've handling the Jak ports to PS3 and Vita and no other ones because they are the only one who can make the games run perfectly on other systems.

7th Gen was Mega Man ZX and Star Force. 6th Gen was also Mega Man Zero.

I knew someone would bring those up. Zero, ZX and Starforce felt more like evolutions of concepts explored in previous games, than a complete revolution.

Also, wasn't Maverick Hunter X just a remake of Mega Man X?

I was referring to whatever the Armature FPS was called. It definitely had Maverick Hunter in the title.

The question is if any of the programming staff that coded the Jak engine are even at Naughty Dog anymore.

If Paint Park Pro is $$$$$$ instead of a free update, SCEA can blow me.
I'm sure I'll probably still download it to draw dongs to Spats.

PPPro was a paid release in Japan.

All of Toro's Friends are weird Japanese animals (and that one robot) Network and Paint Park Plus are out tomorrow:
That's finally here, great. And uh 'Friend Dungeon' o.o

Also, just saw this on Amazon:

If anyone was on the fence, now is the time to grab it. Loved (and still do) the game a lot and I still think that the Daft Punk deal would have been amazing for a new entry had that gone through.

The question is if any of the programming staff that coded the Jak engine are even at Naughty Dog anymore.

A lot of them are. There was a video of how the studio handling the remake for the PS3 collection had to go back and forth with them a lot because of the weird coding techniques they used to get the games running as well as they did on PS2. Too much of that weird coding from the sound of it really which doesn't surprise me that the games are the way they are on the Vita right now. I should look for that video, but I can't remember where I even saw it though.

Andy Gavin left before Uncharted and so ND wrote their engine from scratch for the PS3. They were literally using a custom programming language.

awww yess, all gold on the Gravity Rush challenges. I feel fucking great now.

Too bad the game doesn't support leaderboards for the challenges. Missed opportunity.

Should I worry, that only 3 of those games (Hotline Miami, FFX/X-2 HD and Killzone: Mercenary) have my interest? I want the big guns out at E3.

So with the Toro app/game coming tomorrow, what happens if I already have 100 friends?
Is it coming out in Europe too?

Sweet, new thread. Nice job as usual, Grim.

Thought I'd stop by to drop some more info about Starlight Inception (which is a successfully Kickstarted space sim coming out for Vita, PS3 and PC for those not in the know):

-You can seamlessly enter the atmosphere of a nearby planet and fly along the surface (complete with a different physics model) during gameplay.
-In between missions, you can walk around the inside of a capital ship (in a first-person view) and check out the bridge, hanger, and ect.
-There will be 20-30 flyable craft for you to unlock. More may be coming as DLC.
-The game has two single-player modes: a mission-based story mode and a tower-defense style mode where you deploy turrets and upgrade your ship to protect your capital ship from waves of enemies.
-There are competitive and cooperative multiplayer options.
-EHE claims that "there will be no missing modes and the levels will have all the same events, encounters, and features" for the Vita version.

There was a trailer released recently for it as many of you know, but several things that were showcased are already being tweaked or re-worked (like the animations and effects). A separate Vita trailer will be shown later (either this or next month). Keep an eye out for it!

This post may come off as a bit PR-ish, but I'm pretty excited about this since it's something that I never thought would ever happen. A space sim. Coming out for the Playstation Vita of all things.

2 more than me, the only one on that list I have any real interest in is Warrior's Lair.

I guess I might get Killzone Mercenary, simply because I want an FPS on the Vita, not any actual interest in Killzone.

Ones I am interested in, and I am not so sure about: Valhalla Knights 3 (creepy sexualized stuff in here), Doki Doki Universe (excellent looking but I fear that this is gonna be one of those "beautiful to look at bland to play in" kind of "artsy" games), and Rainbow Moon (seems interesting but those character art are super bleh...)

Dragons Crown

Lone Suvivor

Ys: Memories of Celceta

Killzone Mercenary

Tareaway

Warriors Lair (rumor)

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD

Rayman Legends

These are the one I will get for sure , but other than Warriors Lair (?) none of these are a surprise so I hope for something good coming our way in just a few days

That list is missing OlliOlli, Dragon Fantasy Book II, (a game getting announced in a few hours from Ripstone), plus a bunch of PSM stuff

In for Dragons Crown, Lone Survivor, Stealth Bastard, Fifa, Killzone Mercenary, Warriors Lair, Hotline Miami and Batman Origins Blackgate. Oh god my wallet.

To anyone from Denmark/speak Danish here, please ask A Hat in Time developers to see if there is a chance of them doing a Vita version (since they are open on doing a Wii U version).

I'd really like to see more 3D platformers everywhere.

Hello fellow GAFfers, any news about that loot game with a top view? Can't remember the name but I guess there was some screens from last year.

--

Waiting to see what's new this week on EU PSN. Will grab the two PS Plus games but will keep an eye to see what else will appear. Also waiting for my Vita Case to arrive between today and tomorrow in the mail, finally.

Whoa. I never noticed that feature. 103k for me. That's a trip to Russia, Croatia twice, Czech Republic, Italy and a number of places across the US.

Thanks for answering. Shame, hope we get some similar loot game soon!

That just a guess(I edited my post), we don't really.

it however got some development problems that for sure since they changed the original dev and it was with SCE San Diego Studio since mid last year.

The news came and went like a breezy fart, that's how noteworthy it was.

But yes, it's coming.

What I have problem with is why just Flower and why not TGC Collection.

Aksys - Muramasa Rebirth

Oh wow.

I don't know whether it's me who needs to pay more attention or is it them that announce it in such a low key manner... like a breezy fart, hahaha.

Anyways, great news. I'll be getting this since I have never played it before.

I'm pretty jealous. I thought it was an awesome game and it'll look amazing and likely play very well on Vita. Playing it for the first time on Vita will be pretty awesome. After getting 100% in it on PS3 I don't see myself wanting to play it any more, though.

Hopefully Journey will someday make it too, though I don't know if Vita can run it...? Seems like a rather graphic-intensive game.

Also the list above should be Rayman Legends, right? Not Origins?

Any bets on how ridiculously they'll price it? Indies love gouging Vita owners.

This is so true it kind of hurts :(

I mean, Limbo, 15 bucks? Super Stardust Delta (though I am not sure whether this is indie or not?)'s DLC is 8 bucks....??

Been playing P4G for 6 months, an hour or 2 every week or so on and off. 40 hours in, got about 20 to go. Im going to finish it this month. Just bought Sly Cooper for $15 on Vita... god damn it I have too many games. Plus so many Vita, 3DS, and PS3 games coming that im buying.

for Vita I got muramasa and dragons crown.

3dS animal crossing, project zone, smt4.

ps3 last of us, tales of xilia, gta5, and doa5u.

then the shit storm of games this fall and winter... ugh...

Am I too late in posting NEAR stats? I thought it would be a fun thing to look at, and they're not as shoddy as I thought they'd be!

This also made me wonder whether there are people still playing Treasure Park? I keep finding TP game goods, but they never work...

I don't know if I've said it or not yet, but Flower is such an amazing fit for the Vita. <3

Thanks for answering. Shame, hope we get some similar loot game soon!
Rumours around at the moment that it might be making a comeback. I do hope so, it's probably the game I've looked forward to above all others on the Vita so far. :(

I haven't opened Near for ages.

That list is compilation of known titles.

Aka the pointless stuff since it will only have new trailers or release dates and the real meat of e3 will be new annoucements.
