I never read the books and probably never will. But this show is the best thing to ever happen to TV. More people need to write like this. I absolutely love that main characters die. It makes it so much more entertaining to watch. I mean think of every other show..Dexter, Lost, Breaking bad... You just know those main characters arent going to die in the middle of a season. It sucks to lose awesome characters but it's so awesome to be surprised like that.

That being said, fuck idiots who post images or memes or whatever of the episode 2 hours after it airs, not everyone watches it live! (not talking about this thread, cuz obviously thats my fault if i come in here)

I think we might need to start a support group.
Spoiled as well?

Amen, that is (sorta) what happened to me. An old coworker of mine who I follow(ed) on Twitter, and who has never tweeted about GoT before, inexplicably tweeted "Noooo! Can't believe they killed Rob Stark!", right after the episode aired. I was ticked.

This is probably the best one I've come across.

There hasn't been an official full world map as far as I know.

EDIT: There are a few vague book spoilers in the map notes. Probably best to avoid reading them.

Wait, Qarth is all the way over there? You needed to go the other way silly girl.

I use a redditpics app on my iphone and you just scroll through pictures without seeing the tittle. So even if they mark it spoiler, you dont see that warning because you dont know the subreddit youre in as you are just flicking through the top submissions and the spoiler warning isnt visible :(. If someone ever tweeted that i would kill them IRL. So i just knew someone was going to die, or something huge was going to happen, luckily i avoided finding out who all day.

Yup, in this thread. Total drive by spoiler about Rob. Guy claimed he was drunk.

Thanks for the map, btw. One of the best I've seen.

No problem.

I've seen a few that go all the way to the Shadow Lands and Asshai (Melisandre's home, for non-book readers), but it's still the best and most detailed fan map I've come across.

I'm pretty sure GRRM will be releasing an official world map with "The World of Ice and Fire" guide, which is supposed to be out next spring.

Its not that shocking when you expect to be shocked. Good ep but the stuff with bran was pretty shitty. Seing a family member should invoke more than a shrug from him

I was frankly more upset about the horse breeder getting taken out. The man was just living his life. He didn't care about politics or forbidden love. He was just doing his part to keep the ice zombies at bay. At least he got to go out with dignity, sorta. The poor little people of Westeros. At least the pig farmer got spared.

I know I shouldn't let it bother me as much as it does, but damn it do I hate spoilers. They get me fired up in such a rage, I find them to be such an inconsideration to others, especially in our examples. Akin to just yelling them out in a crowd. The anonymity of the internet is what has made this crap so prevalent.

Thank god there is one more episode before the end, if this is how this season went out I'd be livid for months.

Always had a theory during Season 2 about Benjen and Jon Snow (maybe someone else pointed it out, because its not completely unobvious). Ned, being the honorable man that he is, took a hit for his brother, a Crow who fathered Jon (punishable by death, no?)...protecting his brother being the honorable thing and taking in Jon as his own. I always thought Jon looked a lot like Benjen. In that first season, Jon Snow as so excited to see when Benjen arrived at Winterfell...I know it was because he really wanted to become a ranger, and hear stories from the wall...but maybe there's some deeper connection he's unaware of.

It would be awesome if Benjen still lives, and is Jon's real father and they both go into the south to bring some Stark joostice!

Lol spoiler: Robb comes back next episode as a white walker.

I'm drunk.

I read this while humming the Connan the barbarian theme song.

So who would you say is the Lord of Winterfell / King in the North? Would it either be Bran or Tyrion?

What if... Hodor's mind is simpler / dumber than the dire wolfs?

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Watch looks the other way when it comes to some Crows sleeping with women. Was Benjen even a crow during the rebellion? Not sure if the show made that clear so it is a possibility.

Now if you don't get banned people might think this is NOT a spoiler and thus are spoiled anyway because they know he won't come back.

But if you DO get banned then people will think that it IS a spoiler.

let's be honest here...these are Stark men we're talking about, not just "some Crows." They're honorable to their own ends. If Benjen did break his oath in a moment of passion and later regretted it I could totally see ol Ned stepping in to protect his brother's honor while only slightly tarnishing his...after all, his new wife wasn't his betrothed to begin with...anyway, its just a theory, silly as it may seem. As I posted yesterday, at rate of attrition of main protagonists, I believe the ultimate hero/heroine of this "story" isn't even born yet.

Or my random outbursts are accurate because I have the gift of clairvoyance.

Legally Bran but he's MIA so the people in the Seven Kingdoms will probably assume Tyrion is. Not the King in the North though, just the Warden of the North.

Yeah but what business of a Crow is it to care about fathering a child is what I'm trying to say.

I'm not sure I see your point. Are you saying "the Crows" as in the organization don't care about their members breaking their oath? The show seems to indicate otherwise...during the whole Jon Snow-Ygritte scene, didn't one of them mention it? I'm sure it was mentioned somewhere else about the sacredness of the oath...

As for Benjen STARK, the Crow, I think it would be very much in character to care, which was part of my original theory...

Sansa is the heir, since everyone assumes Bran and Rickon are dead; remember that's why the Tyrells wanted her to marry Loras. Any children she has would inherit Winterfell.

(that's just how the legal system works, no spoilers)

I wouldn't think Benjen to be the father of Jon simply because Ned's reactions to being asked about Jon's mother don't seem appropriate for that particular situation.

That scene was so bad. "Oh yea I saw Jon btw LOL." What the hell was that lol.

The sad part was when Bran fell and was in a coma Jon was devistated. Before he left he went to see Bran and wished him all the best, even though the whole time Cat was mugging him.

Jon helped him practice archery and sword, and Bran doesn't even seem to give a shit.

Lets say Tyrion becomes warden of the North due to his marriage with Sansa, or Sansa has children and then Bran/Rickon/Jon/or Arya shows up. What would happen? Would Bran or Rick be able to contest for the North? Or would it be up to the King to decide?

But in first season, once Benjen arrives at Castle Black with Jon, he acts like they're not related and gives him no special treatment precisely because he has no family outside of the Crows and only the other Watchers are his brothers/family. He emphasizes to Jon that he has to earn his place here. So what I'm saying is that Benjen takes his vows seriously.

Its not that the Crows don't honor their vows, it's that there is a hierarchy within the Crow rules.
Not sure if I'm getting my point across.

Ah, but his aloofness towards Jon could be part of the ruse...knowing full well he will someday join him on the wall...father and son, together fighting to protect the 7 kingdoms <cue dramatic music>. :)

OK, I see your point now. Like I said, it was just a theory...I don't have any strong evidence to back it up, just wishful thinking.

I do hope we see Benjen again. I thought we'd see him earlier this season, captured by Mance, but I guess not. Too many Starks have died man.

Lol I hope so too. But would be shitty for Catelyn to treat him shitty all those years for no reason.

i really like the jon snow being ben stark's son theory. this means he is not a bastard, and if he can find some way to get out of his vows with the night's watch (which shouldn't be hard considering they're already standing on their last leg and are probably going to get destroy during the inevitable invasion) then, under the laws of succession, he is the heir to winterfell (assuming bran and rickon are still presumed dead.) then he can bring justice to the south and rule over everyone with daenarys as his queen and arya as the hand of the king!

I like that theory..
But we didn't see that thing in Benjen's eyes which we saw in Ned's when talking to Jon.
OR Possibly Benjen is the last person (alive?) who knows Jon's real mother.

That wouldn't mean he's not a bastard. We don't know the circumstances of his conception. It may not change a damn thing.

Wouldn't Jon Snow be next heir regardless?

A son of the king is a son, bastard or not.

Bastards can only inherit shit if recognized as legitimate, but AFAIK can't get anywhere close to a crown. Maybe a fat piece of land and a title, but that's all.

Just extrapolating from Middle Ages culture. Who knows how things work in the North/Westeros.
