This just goes to reinforce how mind meltingly awesome E3 2006 was for Nintendo and how far they've fallen from that path. I mean, how could they go from THAT to

edit: I mean c'mon! Opening a conference with Miyamoto directing a virtual orchestra with the wiimote and then going into a montage of game after game after game! All that hype and potential surrounding motion, red steel still being a 1:1 simulation in our hearts and minds, galaxy hitting blindsiding everyone with how gorgeous it was, prime 3, zelda, excite truck, warioware, BLAAARGH AAAH *EXPLODES*
I'm assuming Wind Waker is a third as it's closer to release, then again, wasn't Mario Kart due at end of the year?
Wii U would be selling terribly with or without EAIt's too bad Nintendo screwed EA over with Origin, or they wouldn't be in so much trouble.
The first two are Pikmin and W101. We've had a couple insiders say two of the demos are games we've seen and two are game we haven't seen. Those two games are the best fit for the former. Considering Mario and MK are the only two games Nintendo have specifically said will be playable at E3, they make the most sense for the games we haven't seen, like others have mentioned.

We have? Where was this said?
Looking back at the E3s before the launch of Gamecube, Wii and 3DS, E3 2012's showing for Wii U was a fucking travesty. This year's Nintendo Direct should have been shown LAST year.
This is the big one. The one we've been waiting for, and the one we've been expecting for 2 years now. About time Nintendo.
It's too bad Nintendo screwed EA over with Origin, or they wouldn't be in so much trouble.

So giving EA full control over their online infrastructure would be even better? How did Nintendo screw EA over when EA was the one who left? Damned if they do Damned if they dont, give control to EA or let them walk it would have ended badly either way.

It'd still be better than Nintendo's backwards online.
Strange DRM license policy aside, it's actually superior to the current PSN and XBL in many ways - and surprisingly close to what Sony and MS are planning for next gen. Not to mention Nintendo did the right thing and decided to create their own social network instead of relying on something like Facebook. It'd still be better than Nintendo's backwards online.
On the positive side the lack od 3rd party games means a complete focus on their own titles they have to show. Remember when they highlighted fthe fucking conduit at e3 2009
Also ive officially become hyped as hell for this. It feels like such a long time ive been excited about nintendos console. 3ds has been good bu ive always been more of a console gamer
You're absolutely right. This E3 will be what we were expecting this time last year and more. This is the big Wii U statement, where it finally sets out its stall and shows off the big guns. This is the centrepiece, this is the defining moment, this is what we'll look back on and think of as the moment that the Wii U came into its own.
Hype?
That doesn't make me happy, I don't expect Wii U getting every game but third parties can help Wii U sell, so hopefully Nintendo either convinces them or pulls a Microsoft and moneyhats them.
Why would anyone pronounce .gif with a hard G sound? If it were spelled .ghif, I'd understand. I didn't even realize people did this until I watched the NeoGAF documentary. It sounds so weird to hear it pronounced that way.

why can't this thing hurry up already -__-
Nintendo isnt really in the business of moneyhatting.
Predictible as in? I dont think any game should be predectible for the sake of thr Wii U.I bet on no. Unless they completely turn it around, this showing will be little more than damage control to save the holiday. They might finally settle on a coherent message about the WiiU, but we already know all their big guns:
Smash, Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda and maybe Wii Sports.
Unless they plan on showing something for 2014 expect very little surprises or stuff that really sets the console apart or would turn it's failure into a sprawling butterfly of sales and market relevance.
I personally think I know what to expect from Nintendo themselves. The same tried and true franchises that I know I'll love and that I know will be incredible to play, but I absolutely expect them to be mind numbingly predictable.
The only wildcards really are Retro and some toke 3rd party games that Nintendo might fund.

Dont get your hopes up. At best you can hope for a few collaborations to be revealed but the industry as bad as its doing is not investing money into a console selling like wiijThat doesn't make me happy, I don't expect Wii U getting every game but third parties can help Wii U sell, so hopefully Nintendo either convinces them or pulls a Microsoft and moneyhats them.
The casual audience is not going to leave tableta and phones for wiiu. Also the fact this is a direct and no one who cares about those games will be watching I will be disappointed id they waste their time focusing on themI think Nintendo needs one or two casual games in this Direct, on top of Wii Fit U and Wii Party U. Wii Sports U could be it, but I'm thinking of something brand new that shows the rest of us why a gamepad is a great idea for consoles. The Wii was selling like hotcakes because of people wanting to find out about motion controls + wii sports. Wii U has nothing close to that. It's what they need to show us.
Don't remind me of Nintendo bullying PG into making Bayonetta 2 Wii U exclusive, where it's bound to flop.

fuuuuuuDon't remind me of Nintendo bullying PG into making Bayonetta 2 Wii U exclusive, where it's bound to flop.
It seems they are moneyhatting with Bayonetta 2 (I know Nintendo is helping development but Nintendo is willing to take exclusives), and the Sonic 3 games.
And more.
They are doing better this gen already than last gen.
They definitely won't moneyhat DLC though.
Depends on your definition of goodIts gonna do good dont worry

When an I or E comes after a G, there is usually a modifier like an H after the vowel to make the G sound hard. "A" doesn't need the modifier, so GAF who never be pronounced with a soft G.
gif = jiffy lube
hell yeah
