Unless the PS4 is launching in September, I don't really see the point of a PS4 or Xbone GTA5 exclusive. People are going to want to play the game right way.

Well it's not like GTAV will sell just in September and that's it.
There are MANY fans who will be pleased to jump on the PS4 if they could play Grand Theft Auto there with the best possible quality and most features.

Personally, absolutely. I would never trade a new IP for something as wishy-washy as next-gen exclusivity on a multiplatform game. It might move some units for Sony, but I don't have a horse in that race, even though I'd go as far as describing myself as a fan of SCE/Playstation.

I agree, I'd rather prefer Rockstar to keep their word and deliver a new AAA IP.
But realistically are they going to do it at this point unless Sony gives them the money to develop such game ?
Something like the exclusivity of the next gen version of an important cross gen title is the best way for Rockstar to get rid of their contract while getting the best sales return for future titles (being multiplatform).

There may be one countdown gif Easter egg already posted OR in the remaining days ahead... But it's really really obscure that it's not worth talking about until a few years time. And it's not as simple as the game footage used being the gif ;P

Anyway, I don't want to tease and get banned so let's get back to E3 2013

This is enough to send my mind racing for months.

This E3 will be amazing. I can't wait.

Man, I didn't really care that much about PS2 emulation but it would be gigarad to have it if it would allow remote play. Dat PS2 library on Vita.

I think they commented that they might look at it in the future so who knows. I doubt they will put any major resources for that tho...

so I had a dream last night about PS4 launchday last night, serious story is serious :

key things that I remember : launch date was Nov 20 (I actually noted it to not forget when dream ended lol), box looked like PStwo one - really small and I think it was yellow ; there were shortages in Atlanta, I know because I was talking to a friend and he was buying last one in some obscure shop. Price is unknown but he traded in some of his games so it could be more than he expected (off dream speculation is 399$)

now I'm curious about dreams accuracy :]

But the launch games man! What were the launch games!!

That would be huge for me. Native PS2 backwards compatibility would be great, mostly because the PS2 classics library on PSN would expand, and I don't see Google Fiber coming to save me from Time Warner Cable any time soon for BC through Gaikai.

By reading tea leaves, I am able to confirm your dream's accuracy.

None. HAH!

It was a trick question!

Teases are fun, leaks ruin all the fun.

I'm dreading the days before E3, stuff usually leaks anyway and with megatons this years its even more likely shit will leak. I'm just hoping we can get to the day before without any major leaks then I'll just stay off gaf on the 10th until the conferences are over.

leaks can be fun
remember this?

no i am not an insider but i can get inside info for most big companies , not just SONY/MS. I cant elaborate beyond that and theres a few neogaf members who might have the same info as i do

Something about this post seems contradictory. A bunch of "insiders" just hear second hand info which isn't always true.

I wouldn't put too much stock in MS bribing publishers to not show up at Sony's conference. Whilst corporate shenanigans do happen, the publishers Sony has tried to court for E3 and beyond aren't the ones who'd be moved thanks to the kind of money they'd actually be offered (were it actually offered). Plus, I somehow don't think MS would actually be that silly to try and attempt such a thing with big publishers. I also wouldn't put too much stock in there being so many Western publishers not showing up on the PS4. If anything, I'd say that the two potentially biggest Western exclusives that could cause shockwaves (one from a surefire commercially massive developer, and one from a pretty successful commercial one but more of meltdown inducing one), will be on the PS4. Basically, enjoy the ride. Both E3 2013 and 2014 will be pretty amazing for Sony fans.

E3 focus will be heavy on Sony first party and some third parties. Keep your expectations in check. If you're expecting 20 big games to be shown, you're probably going to really be let down. You already know SE is showing a PS4 Final Fantasy, that's one big game already gone. Sony also have several first party games that need to be shown, so that's a couple more gone and some of you probably have an idea of what studios will be making an appearance. Destiny is also getting its first exclusive gameplay reveal at the conference so that's another part of the presentation gone. Basically, E3 is going to display a good amount of games, but I already get the feeling from some of you that you might be expecting too much. Expect a couple of surprises. That's about it. Don't think you'll get ten surprise reveals or something that will be megaton after megaton. That's not these things work, nor will they ever really work like that.

I was already expecting stretched out pre-launch period. Sony has to cover E3, PAX, Gamescom and TGS with good announcements.

Exactly. The conference is going to be awesome. Sony's first party alone will make sure of that. But, one has to be reasonable and not expect two dozen surprise reveals.

Never said they'd be at E3 though. Last I knew, nothing is confirmed on their end just yet. And you'll get at least one megaton, that I can assure you.

Edit:

You know what? I'm not even sure why I'm trying to temper expectations. It's going to be an amazing show. Don't see anyone being disappointed to be frank.

Considering the shit timing of Sony's conference, is there any chance one of you can create a spoiler free thread and update the OP with links of the conference as soon as they go live? I would like to watch the conference but I just can't justify staying up late until 3AM.

I am sold on KZ4 for launch and inFamous would be instabuy, fucking loved the series on PS3. Drive Club? Sure thing, the MotorStorm games play great and are lots of fun. I'd LOVE 60fps on Drive Club, but I am assuming 30 until we know otherwise. Either way, those 3 games at launch sounds ace.

I am so ready for PS4 now, can't come soon enough.

so about that TLG PS4...

Please Verendus and any other insiders, stop with the teases. That might get some people into trouble. And it makes the surprise less exciting. :(
I'll stop, since I also think I'm beginning to take the piss to be honest. But also, don't worry about anything I say getting someone in trouble because it won't.

Prove yourself: What tie is Andrew House going to wear on monday?
He won't wear one.

Sony's E3 really comes down to how they want to play it. With things constantly changing I suppose it's reasonable to assume they could pull out the big guns, perhaps games they were originally thinking about holding off on showing (eg. Uncharted 4) in order to drum up extra hype and generate more sales at launch.

It depends how much heat they think they'll be taking from Nintendo and MS.
This is all such a downer. TLG on PS3, no megatons, I think I'll just get an Ouya and be done with it.
Nobody has said there won't be any megatons. The opposite in fact.

KZ is confirmed?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, I've not kept track of launch details. In fact, does anyone have a list of confirmed "launch" titles so far?

I concur, I'm most hyped for inFamous (really a series with fantastic gameplay through and through) and Driveclub (speaks for itself). Killzone will probably be worth it for the fantastic graphics and multiplayer action (definitive buy as well).

Knack could be interesting, too: At this point we don't know all that much about the gameplay, but of course I'm going to buy Cerny's game.

Pretty sure everything we saw at the PS meeting in February will be on the shelves day 1.

Considering, that he's offering himself to be perm'd if he's wrong...I'd say so.

One does not simply gamble their NeoGAF account.

What is he exactly betting on?
Versus XIII being there and renamed FFXV?
Isn't that almost confirmed? :P The rest are just vague hints which can be spinned to apply to whatever is announced, unless he PM precise details to a mod the bet has not a lot of value.

I think that Double Fine is doing one of those games (the surprise ones). They have a PS4 dev kit, Tim appeared in the dev reel, and they recently said in the Massive Chalice Kickstarter video that they have three teams (two teams for each KS, and yet another that is doing something). Just a thought into the wind.

Just wondering, was it confirmed at all if we'll be able to install full games from retail disc onto PS4?

also, I really hope we get the ability to add our own extra HDD without hassle.

He knows what he is wearing because he is Andrew House.

"Oh and one more thing..."

(FF7 remake trailer plays and ends with PS4 launch, exclusive.)

Now that would be something to squeal about. I've had VII in my mind during E3 conferences for so many years now; all I get is, "that's all for our conference tonight, stick around to enjoy tantalizing hands on experiences on the show floor." Music plays, and that's all there is to it.
