For example, the Xbox One was said to have 15 exclusives, including 8 brand new IPs, in its first year.
The hype that causes in some people ignores the reality. Wii U will, if Mario & Mario Kart make it before holiday, have had 16 exclusives in it's first year and four or five brand new IPs. Some of those Xbone games will inevitably be disappointing (Fantasia, Kinect Fitness, and so on). The reality of what 15 exclusives means is outweighed by the hype of just hearing an arbitrary, relatively large number.
It's not acting out of line to imagine the possibilities, and there might well be a few surprises, but reality is reality and Nintendo has limited development resources and money and a lot of games announced but not released.
