Not to say early embargos isn't good, and a good indication of a games success..but I do think it's really irrelevant when a game embargo lifts..whether early or on the day of release.

The only time I get worried is when it's something really fishy like what Activision did with there shitty Walking Dead game, sending out very few review copies, and sending those review copies on the day of the actual release.

Now that's a good indicator of a shitty ass game that a publisher has no to little faith in.

To me, an early embargo means they have enough faith in the game to get reviews good enough, from big enough outlets, for them to attach to their adverts. They must have had a lot of faith to do it a week and a half early I think.

Sony generally have review embargos a week or two before release.

To date, Druckmann’s career at Naughty Dog has taken him from programmer to designer to writer and director. The diversity of his path is a sign of the growing complexity of big-budget gaming, but also, more specifically, of the ambition within Naughty Dog to combine creative disciplines in its work. In this context, Druckmann agrees his past is an asset. “My programming background certainly helps me when I think of the more dynamic parts of the story, or where the story fits with gameplay. It helps me make that
shift in my mind that someone with just a writing background, or just a writing background in TV or film, would have a harder time doing.”

Yeah, or more recently the new Fast and the Furious game. Couldn't find any reviews the day that launched.

It is in the OP?

At least take the time to read the thread before posting.

There is only the quote from the end of video. There is no mention of someone confirming what the magazine itself states.

I'll read all 50 pages to see if anyone else has the magazine for posting next time. Thanks!

Someone confirmed it a few pages back, but it's still nice you confirmed and I don't expect you to have seen that one, singular post in a thread this big. Besides, the subscribers just received their copy today, so it's relevant for you to post it now.

Rivyn being quite dickish. Nice one!

While I'm sure the game will be great, I don't think it will get the same amount of hyperbole and perfect scores that infinite did, reviewers don't usually do that twice in a year, they've used up their supply of exaggerated praise.

If some really, really, really likes a game than I don't see why not.

To me it's a blessing.

Just checked out their top reviews: MGS4, Uncharted 2, Journey & Fuel Tiracas got perfect scores

Are they all by the same reviewer though?

It's quite irrelevant what the magazine gave perfect scores to, considering it's all by different people. Whose to say the reviewer who reviewed UC2 wouldn't have given TLOU a 10/10 as well?

It's just different opinions.

Dude he's just posting a score, no need to be a dick.

Thanks guys. I was just excited about the score and wanted to share ASAP. I've not read the whole review (I've been burnt with spoilers in the past) but the last paragraph mentions how the game stays away from lowbrow ideas doesn't disappear up its own are with these ideas. Exactly the what I've wanted from this game.

Haven't confirmed though. But it would be a nice comparison to see what those games had that achieved the score. "Opinions" are regulated to I-love-I-hate-this-bla-bla-bla, anything else can easily hold up to scrutiny.

German GamePro gave 88% (Print issue 07/13)

Graphics
+ lots of detailed locations
+ disturbing monster design
+ life like animations
- inconsistent visual quality

Sound
+ superb subtle soundtrack
+ great sound effects
+ good German dub
- the voices are sometimes out of sync

Positives / negatives
+ Ellie and Joel
+ variety
+ satisfying stealth gameplay
+ heartbreaking moments
- AI acting weird
- skill system partially irrelevant

Thanks for the run down.

But are these all of the cons? Sounds very nitpicky, especially since it only got an 88.

If I didn't see a score I would've assumed a higher score.

Well it's not a metacritic publication so i guess it's irrelevant.

Seems fair to me.
