Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

...and are we really excited for Terraria?...
Fucking hell yes. Handheld Terraria?! Of course that's exciting!

I don't see a problem with getting hyped for great games just because they're older / available elsewhere. I can think of literally hundreds of great PS3 / 360 / PC games that I'd love to see on Vita.

i dont hate all indies

but theres no way dillons rolling western is better than REvelations, just no

I loved Hotline Miami... and woo the Vita is getting that, but again, already played it.. its old now

Same with Lone Survivor, one of my fav survival horror titles... but played that one quite a while ago too

and are we really excited for Terraria and Walking Dead? more ports of old indie games?

i think the issue besides lack of big vita titles is that the indie games we are getting are not new... where are the indie titles exclusive and unique to the Vita that a lot of us havent played before?
Have you even played dillons rolling western?
I think getting these late indie jobs is to put some faith in indie debs to show them that vita is a viable market

You play a lot of games, I've owned all these games for the longest time but haven't had a chance to sit down and play. They're a perfect fit for me on the Vita.

It's not for you. Sell it and stop thread whining, for everyone's sake.

Edit: also, you complain about old games but say P4G is the best Vita game. Guess what? It may have some new stuff but at it's core it's an OLD GAME.

um no

i have a library of 20+ retail games that i have enjoyed

i just need more of those

ive justified the purchase of the vita with Persona 4 golden alone, over 120+ hours
Well it's going to get worse these few couple months
Summer is always barren

dillons rolling western is one of the few eshop games i own

i bought 20 in credit and used 10 for Pushmo which is legitimately fun

used the other 10 on dillons and it was a waste

granted i never liked tower defense but i found the game tedious, and having to pull down on the touch pad to wind up and roll was annoying instead of using a button press

scouring the map for those white truffles or whatever was dumb too. and combat was not nearly as fun as i had wanted

i disagree

the vita was FOR ME at launch and the subsequent months. Pretty much felt like a handheld with me in mind up until after the last batch of good retail releases (NFS Most Wanted, Sonic Racing. AC Liberations, SH BOM, etc)

its just dried up since the beginning of the year

Ill tell you what, yes, if E3 comes and goes and no other big games announced besides killzone, ill probably jump ship after i play Mercenary and Tearaway and be done

There are a lot of people here that are VitaDads who basically havn't had time to play a lot of these games on a PC or console and so very much look forward to them arriving on Vita.

It's already been said that a lot of these developers are finding success on Playstation (Vita + PS3) with their ports, and so are looking to make their next games available from the get go.

It's also worth noting that the Vita getting indie games has nothing to do with big publishers making games for it. Please stop conflating the two.

I agree that us getting more old indie games isn't solving the problem of the lack of new games, but they are awesome nonetheless.

Sony is courting a lot of indie devs to bring new indie games though like Hohokum, Doki-Doki Universe and Counterspy. Those three games really fell off everyone's radar. I for one am SUPER excited for Counterspy, a cold-war era metroidvania stealth game? YESS! Also I keep forgetting about TxK, I absolutely love music and rhythm games so I'm down for that on DAY ONE.

I will be getting Limbo and Rayman for free later today courtesy of PS+, and I will also be picking up Patapon 2 in the PSP sale for the nifty price of ridiculous cheap. Never played a Patapon game but I've been very curious about the series since I got my Vita. How's 2 regarded compared to the other entries in the series?

EDIT:
Also, as to the point about the Vita getting indie games that "everyone's already played", I think part of Sony's strategy is probably that they reckon simultaneous (or at least not as late) Vita release of future games from the same developers are much more likely after they've gotten their first Vita game out (and seen what a joy it is to deal with the Vita and all the beautiful Vita owners, of course;).

I haven't played 3, but 1 and 2 are fucking awesome. Enjoy.

*PATA PATA PATA PON*

I wish they'd announce a Vita version. :'(

Raises hand.

Vita is perfect for my needs.
And i cant fucking wait for terraria vita.

My life will be ruined.

While I've still been able to play all the indies being released, I understand this sentiment as a VitaDad myself. I'm looking forward to finally playing through Persona 4 after having played Persona 3 in all it's various incarnations.

FTFY, my SO (featheredkitten here on GAF) may end up stealing my Vita when Terraria is released.

So that's how Sony plans to increase Vita sales - they will price drop Patopan series and then watch people buying replacements for those units they smashed against nearest brick wall due to frustration :D

I think i played it three times on PSP and never finished tutorial (my rhytm hearing totally sucks).

Getting an Xperia ZL this week (and an Xperia Z tablet when it comes out in my country), so I have to ask: What are the best PS Mobile games? I'm looking at picking up 10 or so. Preferably ones that work well with touch screens, but I still have a Vita so I don't mind suggestions that work well with buttons too.

I can help you with a few suggestions Markus.

Yu Nama: The Puzzle is one of the best games in there, simple, challenging and fun match 3 like puzzle game.

Passing Time is a simple football game where you touch the screen to pass to other players and score, It may not sound like much but the game is super fun to play with a bunch of challenges and modes

Rymdkapsel is a RTS/tower defense/puzzle with a minimalistic look that is awesome (and relaxing)to play

Life of Pixel is a 2D platformer on the vein of Super Meat Boy, worth a purchase if you like the genre

There is an updated version of Lemmings that looks and plays great, its a 3$ IAP with a free tutorial mode

Penguin Party is a simple and free puzzle game, worth the free try if only a bit repetitive

All of them can be played with touch and are recommended by me :) I had a lot of fun with PSM and the platform continues to improve so give them a try.

Those are all good suggestions except for life of Pixel. I don't want to imagine playing that with touch (is it even possible?)

Edit:nm I see he's ok with playing on Vita too. In that case also check out aqua kitty

Apparently Sega did wel with PSO2 on the Vita, if Famitsu is to believed.
Just read this at gamefront.de, 500.000 units. Now they have the money to pay Valkyria Chronicles 3 Vita right, right?

Is Terreria on PS Vita going to be YOPO like Limbo? I already own the PS3 version and it'd be awesome to get the Vita one. I'd probably never buy it on it's own.

I quite like Coconut Dodge.

We don't know. It doesn't seem likely since they waited until after the PS360 version launched to announce it, but then again Limbo has surprised us so who knows.

So just to be clear: no totobeni's friends network in europe; no paint park pro's dlc except two (I saw the US store got a lot more, 3 even free); TWO new sales campaign with not even ONE vita title; no vita titles to be seen in the indie gaming sale from yesterday (although the most powerful handheld ever is now marketed as the indie heaven).

Wow, Sony's really determined on making Vita disappear from european soil uh?

I'm suing Sony. they'll have to make Folklore 2 if they want a settlement. :p

anyway..I thought SCEE was better than SCEA on the Vita front.

:(

i just want some new games that i can't find on other platforms. E3 can't some soon enough.

lol @ paint park plus

you can have pencil and colors

want brush, eraser, or paint fill? you will pay me!

paying for stuff that comes free in every other basic paint program like MS Paint, etc

Im also really sad that Zipper is gone

Unit 13 is easily top 5 Vita games out there, such an awesome 3rd person cover based shooter thats built PERFECTLY to the strengths of the vita. Awesome ragdoll physics, good sound, fun maps, tons of replayability

Id kill for Unit 13-2

Italians would say "it's the poor people's war".

I think SCEE is better on the Plus front, everything else is very underwhelming when it comes to the Vita. We had SO MANY different sales without a single Vita title in them. And apps and games releases are usually much slower unless they're from european devs.

Agree 100% A very good game that plays perfectly and could have been a start of something great.

On a side note just got the Velocity Ultra Platinum, brings me up to 51 now :)

I want a SOCOM Vita now.

yup

although there are rumors of rainbow six vita in some other threads about e3?

not that modern rainbow six is any good, they are all shit after 3 IMO

but still id take a shooter that requires SOME planning over what we have on the vita so far

So this Toro thing is sort of addicting. Micromanaging friends to labor for me in my gardens is fun. Patting people on the head for tweets in other languages I don't understand is also fun. My one major problem is apparently I can never do dungeons without actually buying refresh items with real money because everyone is always resting. That sucks and is a bit of a money grab, along with making all the cool outfits money only. Oh well, NOW GET BACK TO WORK MUHAHAHA!!

Edit: Mauaus dude you should probably log in and get the MP and exp, you are one of the few muscles I have and i've had you constantly working.
