I think it'd be better if you had to point it at the screen like in Other M and the screen displays the latest headlines. Or the new Halo tv show

it IS pointed at the screen in the pic ;p
the TV and the gamepad screens overlap in the image: btw it would be great also as in zombi, where you can also turn it 360° around you indipendently from the tv.

Is this pertaining to your new construction?

Awesome :D. Would it be ok to claim my ticket early?

Just tell me when it's done, otherwise I might forget :)

By the way, is that photo of a Nintendo booth in construction from this approaching E3? If so, where did it originate from?

Wasn't sure if it was just from a previous year.

nintendo's booths in the years that i've gone:

2004: open, allowing a large flow of people in and out. this was in contrast to their booth the year prior according to their graphic designer. it was also in contrast to microsoft's own from that year (it was a walled-off thing with one entrance and one exit and just. awful.). there was also a ds section that was closed off and only a few people were let in at a time. this was completely walled off from the rest of the booth. a game boy advance platform was set up with some chairs so people could play pokemon. most of the booth was populated by gamecubes. i think this might have been the year nintendo had girls with systems attached to them first come up to people. it was awkward.

2009: fairly wide open with wii units on the outside of the booth and inside. new super mario bros. wii took the main space within the middle of the booth, and there were a few platforms for the wii ___ games that year. like 2004, it was fairly open and easy to get around.

2010-2011: there was a 3ds stage set up in the back of the booth, and wii titles were playable on the outskirts of the lines for the 3ds. it was pretty cramped. skyward sword took up maybe 30% of the floorspace in 2010, and wii u demos created roped-off sections in 2011.

2012: no 3ds units aside from the ones attached to nintendo's guys and girls. apparently nsmb2's demo debuted on the third day this year. about half the booth was set aside for what they thought would be massive lines for nintendoland. by the end of the first day, the lines were dead and there was just this huge empty area in the middle to watch panoramaview. meanwhile, stuff like the third party games and pikmin 3 were all pushed off to the side.

i hope this year is more of a return to 2004 and 2009. it would probably suggest a good variety of games, like those years had. given that mario kart will likely be there, i will guess that that will take up a huge chunk of the booth.

sony's booth hasn't changed from 2009-2012, from what i can remember. they have small rooms set aside, little stage sections to play handheld games, and parts in the middle of the booth for multiplayer games. then the third-party stuff is kinda crammed together. but at least they're consistent, and it's not really all that bad to get around. plus, they give out neat freebies.

microsoft had a good booth last year too. probably the first time that's been the case. they have this weird thing for small enclosed spaces, but last year, everything was pretty spread out and accessible.

I will freeze myself with frozen bacon.

Blend it up, coat it, and step into a freezer. Only problem is, it freezes you for twenty years. In twenty years everyone is dead apart from one man. Cybernetic Reggie.

You gotta go find Reggie, because he knows the secret to time travel. He lives in a cave beyond the shark infested sea that used to be Milton Keynes. Beg with him...he may grant you the pizza that with one bite, sends you twenty one years back in time

how you decide to proceed is up to you. Fly, my beauties...fly!

OMG cant wait for the off screen cam gameplay footage... 4 player possibly 5 player Mario Kart U matches.. caught live on tapes!

Also, Anihawk you are one lucky guy going to all those E3s.

there was a time when they would let part-time retail employees in. so i was able to go during high school. until this year, they let anyone in as long as they had credentials within the non-retail industry even if you were a part-timer, which is how i got in for most the rest of the time. i think they started limiting it to full-time industry professionals now that more and more people are applying (it's also a huge year- so there's that).

This future sounds scary. What terrible and tragic event befell us that forced Reggie to move to Milton Keynes.

You have to live in LA to get in as a part-time retail employee I take it?

you can be anywhere, but you can't get in as a part-time employee at all this year. it's just easier if you're near la just for the drive.

there are still people from gamestop and best buy and retailers who show up, but they are usually managers and district managers, although sometimes badges are shared with other key holders.

Metroid on the Wii U should utilize two perspectives: first-person for the GamePad and third-person for the TV screen. First-person mode would allow you to scan objects and examine your environment in detail, whilst third-person mode would give a better view of your surroundings so that you can avoid obstacles or enemies coming from behind or from the sides.

Im surprised they didnt start limiting people all this time then, but then again its not easy nor cheap if you are an employee in some random state going to LA just get in E3.

It's cybernetic Reggie. He can plug himself into various vehicles. Obviously this is before the great battle of Milton Keynes. he lead the army of giant Mario robots against the evil army of eastenders characters that cloned repeatedly and enslaved the earth.

he lost..we all lost

Dreamt earlier that the Smash Bros trailer had leaked. It was glorious. I don't remember much but two of the newcomers was the Duck Hunt dog Rayman, and in the end of the trailer, Robb Stark was revealed as a playable. Lmao.

And then my friend called me and woke me up.

Fuck it. I wouldn't mind.
