TitanFall (EA/Respawn, PC/XB1/360, Spring 2014, Game Informer Leak, All Info In OP)

Seriously? no ps4 cause you wanted to concentrate on 1 console. Geez guys, it's fairly obvious somebody paid for this exclusivity. Couldn't you just farm it out to another team like you do for the 360? ;)

That's a bullshit way to explain exclusivity.

Missed this little nugget of information in the corner.

The game does have a progression system. They weren't forthcoming with the info though. You will unlock things for the pilot and titan.

And of course like the cover suggests. You can play as female characters.

GI is in the top 3 - top 5 most circulated magazine based on paid subscription. So I see this die down quickly. I am pretty sure GameStop got a tongue lashing from MS and GameStop gave GI a lashing.

So when do we start getting sales predictions as stated in % of COD sales...IE, titan will sell 32% as many copies as COD.

Damn, shooter market is really flooded now...someone who is used to steak is gonna get table scraps.

it means that titanfall would cripple killzones sales which is not too far fetched
Really? Shadow Fall is on PS4 and TitanFall isn't, Shadow Fall will release at launch and TitanFall spring 2014 and we haven't seen gameplay of TitanFall. So how can you say that?

possibly, but I'd assume online only for PC and it may use servers for the AI and physics as the console game does to give people with lesser hardware the same experience

You would have to have extraordinarily weak hardware to see a benefit from data coming through a slow Internet line over calculating it client-side.

In terms of sales and hype I doubt KZ will compete. I'm thinking this is Microsofts Gears for the XO, which means they'll market like crazy IMO.

but we are talking new consoles that have sold ZERO units right now.. ? and they are both exclusive to one of the consoles..? how can a game being on Xbox One cripple sales for a game on PS4..?

This sounds pretty awesome but what kind of game is this? An MMO?

It sounds similar to Destiny except the latter has no mechs.

Because Microsoft heavily market their products, and this is a game from the makers of Call Of Duty.

Holy shit, big screwup on Game Informer's part. Looking forward to seeing this at the Xbox conference and the game itself sounds very interesting.

Speaking of which, didn't Game Informer mess up last E3 as well by leaking their cover showing Gears of War: Judgment?

I will play the multiplayer campaign part, but, be ready to carry my sorry ass. I suck at video games and you will find out when you keep having to save my ass. Don't blame me, I would player single player but that's not a option.

I told my 50 year old co worker about the cloud, he makes workforce management software, he looked at me like i was retarded and told me servers have been around for decades and the cloud has always been a marketing gimmick.

I was all, but but but, better AI and physics!!!! : (

Oh man. Well I guess that settles that.

The devs behind this game usually take a while before thier hit a stride. COd didn't become huge until the 4th game. Which is why im wondering if MS will buy up the sequels as well.

Killzone won't get anywhere near this game, Halo wint launch until 2015 and Titanfall is launching in the spring which combined with the marketing MS will throw at it means it could be huge.

It's really easy to spot the SW's antics pre-E3. You won't last long acting like this here.

I'd venture to say some may need to take a break and not be with us during E3 if they can't tune their emotions.

People have established their friends lists, communities and game list on Steam already and don't want to re-do it for another service. Same as how people stuck with 360 this gen because everyone "was already on Xbox Live."

Not trolling, genuinely interested...

Do you think the same will be true for the transition from 360 to XBone, or do you think gamers will move to whatever service they feel is superior for next-gen - like PS4?

Can someone explain to me how this is different than any MMO, ever? I just don't understand this cloud talk. It's dedicated servers, which is the norm for these types of games. I'm 100% sure it could run on the PS4 too, especially if it can run on the 360.

I'm not debating whether Killzone will sell the same as Titanfall, which at this time would be pure speculation how well either game would do but more to the fact that there are already "Shooters" on these systems flooding an already packed genre and with Destiny coming along supposedly offering this MMO type system that is fully multiplatform and with Activision behind it I'm speculating on how much more of a demand there is (or will be) for Titanfall.

Umm.. if this was to be the exclusive feather in the cap of Microsoft, why would they release it on pc?
I mean, Im not remotely interested in the Xbone at the moment, but if this would be good, I would chuck it at my humble pc with a HD6770..

Although I agree to some degree - what are they supposed to say? "Yes we took moneyhats from MS in order to make the PS4 look bad"?
Firstly, they should not insult people's intelligence. Secondly, they should say we're focusing on one next gen console right now and don't elaborate further.

It's complicated. Amalur was developed by BHG and published by 38 Studios. They would need a publishing arm and depending on contractual obligations on distribution.

I'd have to imagine that Valve would be more than willing to waive certain requirements to allow the game onto Steam. Granted, I do think that EA will try to lock this game down as much as they can here, but the IP ownership definitely complicates things.

And nothing will come out of this beside one empty bottle.

GI is to big to scold it like some random site. GI has 7mln subscribers in US it's like second biggest mag in US more that any newspaper. (though it comes monthly not daily)

Cloud in this case in an MMO. That's literally it. It's using MMO technology from 15+ years ago.

Touting it as the power of the cloud is disingenuous. If it really was the cloud, why is this on 360 and PC? It's just using the internet the same way every single MMO/online game with AI does. It's not impressive and it's just buttering up the concept of the cloud.

No it isn't. 15 years ago, you had a small finite number of servers to run the game. Cloud gives you the ability to draw on seemingly infinite server capability, on demand.

If you didn't get a slot in a server 15 years ago, you were SOL. Now you can open up a new server, if only for an hour, if you need it and an extra gamer could get in.

If there are no other advantages, scalability makes the "cloud" more than a marketing term.

God damn what a leak. I hope someone's not going to get fired because of this.
You know as well as I do that someone will. This is massive. MS probably spent tons of money getting this huge reveal ready at their conference. It was going to blow people away. They show some in game footage, show how awesome the cloud is, talk about the future of the X1. They still can do that, but there's no punch.

A week before E3 one of your biggest reveals gets leaked on the heels of launching a new console? A head will roll, unfortunately. Might not be anyone important, but someone's getting canned. Microsoft has to be absolutely furious.

Also, it's hard to see what platform is the focus at the moment. If Respawn is developing the PC version then that should give a clue, still...

Odd that there is no PS4 version planned in my mind but its coming to PC so im covered.

I also dont think that Reiner needs to be upset abotu this, they can control the message now and build up a few days of hype and then show it running in motion on Monday which im sure will excite everyone.
